I would simply love it if this game and Grid 2 beat both Forza 3 and GT5 in average scores, that would be hilarious.
Looking at the worst reviews though - "Neither arcade racer, nor simulation" So Forza 3 / PGR clone confirmed

Surprised it beat DiRT 2 so quickly, probably has something to do with the complete and total Americanization of that series and the focus being taken off the rally racing.

I agree with you, it was actually pretty touching. Compare that to Activision's treatment of Kurt Cobain in GH5...

When is the demo for this coming out? I've been wanting a racing game for the longest time. I heard its gotten great reviews and the gameplay is a great mix of sim and arcade.

Considering the majority of posts on this site, particularly in relation to deals, are US focused I think that a few posts which have a UK focus can hardly be classed as all, or really complained about. It's nice for us UK peeps to get a bit of news which relates to the country we live in for a change.

Generally though the posts on this site have a more global appeal so it's hardly anything to complain about really.

It's also top of the trade-in charts at GAME and Gamestation as chavs rush to return it when they realise there are no neons.

Joystiq should have mentioned that the PS3 version got 52% of sales while the 360 version got 44%.This is the first time that I've seen a multiplatform game selling better on the PS3.

If loading times weren't that hefty i might actually enjoy Shift. For now I to annoyed when a race starts to actually enjoy it.

I am the opposite. The load times just build up my anticipation and it makes the racing itself more exciting. It is the most fun I have ever had playing a racing game.

The load times are only about 20 seconds though, which really isn't such a huge thing to complain about.

If only they hadn't broken the settings so the cars handle really badly out of the box and everyone could have enjoyed this great game straight away, without careering all over the shop with the neither arcade nor sim physics more difficult than actually driving a car is IRL.

Got a lot going for it, but the way it drives before you tweak the settings is mental.

How to make Shift a playable game:

1.) Got to your control options, enter these values:

Steering Dead Zone: 15%
Accel Dead Zone: 10%
Brake Dead Zone: 10%
Steering sensitivity: 05%
Acell Sensitivity: 05%
Brake sensitivity: 05%
Speed steering sensitivity: 100%

2.) Choose a car, then choose "Tuning", then "Advanced Tuning"
Reset all values to default (press LS)

3.) Leave the Tuning screen.

4.) Go back to "Tuning", then "Quick Tuning"
Now put the "Balance" Slider all the way to Oversteer(!) The slider is labeled wrong, Oversteer is Understeer and vice versa.

5.) Move the left slider (don't know what the name is now, the one with the steering^^) to 35-45, depending on what you like.

Voila, the game is playable now.
