What if your favorite video game characters came to life? You'd think it would be a cause for celebration, but Cloverbrawl, the latest film from the geniuses behind LittleBigRevenge, suggests otherwise. The two-part 20-minute film touts some impressive special effects, splicing in characters from a myriad of games, from Smash Bros, to LocoRoco, to Left 4 Dead, and more. Thoroughly imaginative and brilliantly executed, this is a must-watch for all gamers.
You know, I was kinda hoping they would have a fighting chance. Muster the old American grit and work through the danger. Brave through the crazyness and win triumphantly!
But, then I realized....they're Europeans. So this is movie very accurate. :)
I'm kidding, I'm kidding...I love Europeans. I just wish they would stop bashing the Ps3.
Gotcha! I was kidding again!
You Europeans are so lovably gullible. I should buy each of you a present...
wait what? so you are saying that the Americans are the ones with the fighting spirit, i would like to point out two world wars where you sat there like pussys because it dint bother you,
Everyone....don't take me so seriously at 3:51 in the morning. Half the time I don't even know what I'm writing. Now that I read it, I must have been reeeeally hammered last night. That was borderline Mel Gibson. I would like to apologize to my European brothers.
But I still blame you for plaguing the world with Reality Television!
That's okay. As bad as Reality TV maybe, we Americans still have a secret weapon.
Just because people use a lot of their free time to insert game character after game character into a short film doesn't make it good. It wasn't funny, but I felt like it was supposed to be.
It's only purpose was to get nerds to say, "Hey! There's Samus! And Kirby! Ahhhh LocoRoco!!! This thing is TEH AWESOMMEZ!"
Geek fan service with no message or point is superfluous. This is time that could be better spent watching quality nerd love like There Will be Brawl.
At least the nerds looked like real nerds look like.
I thought it had its funny moments. Plenty of stupid ones, too, but even then, it's obvious an immense amount of effort went into this, so I have to give them points for that.
Agreed, but I'd have to disagree about There Will Be Brawl. I had never even heard of it until I read your comment so I watched the first episode, it's pretty much what your describing as well. It's not written (or acted) well enough for any of the drama to work and it's boring.
Watch an episode and imagine the video game characters are normal people (I guess Kirby would have to be some type of crazed killer) and ignore the video game references. You will see how bad it is. They just took some generic elements from cop/crime/ghetto shows, dressed up the characters, and forced in some videogame references. Not very original at all.
What exactly is your issue? This was a skit some people did and posted it on YouTube for people to watch, it's not like they're charging you, and you have no right to compare it like it's some multi million dollar box office movie. Compared to about 99% of the content on youtube, this was done well.
It had some dumb moments, and had a lot of funny moments, but it was free, and entertaining for the 18 minutes it ran, if you didn't like it, then press the little back button on your browser, and move along.
OK, let's see what one is really supposed to look like! seriously, that was awesome! I love stuff like this! Favorite quote, "It's got frame drops" "WHAT! WHAT!" lols
I can definitely appreciate the time and hard work that went in to making this video.
That being said, I didn't really find it that great. The Kirby battle was cool, although it's typical that the kid with the emo haircut would be spineless and betray his friend to save himself.
The cake thing...was it just a fat joke? Or did I miss another retarded internet meme (Icanhas, bukkit, lolrus, etc.)?
