Unlike other publishers, EA isn't waiting for Tokyo Game Show to start to reveal their big news. High atop the Mori Tower in Tokyo's luxurious Roppongi Hills, EA Japan has announced a brand new original game. Tsumuji, aka Whirlwind, is a DS-exclusive being produced in Japan.
We're reminded a lot of Celda. The trailer has a big-eyed character running around a top-down field that's reminiscent of A Link to the Past. There will be towns to visit, dungeons to crawl. Like the DS Zelda games, all the action is controlled by the stylus.
We'll be getting hands-on with this game, and a whole slew of other EA titles: Dead Space Extraction, Army of Two: The 40th Day, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Dante's Inferno, Left4Dead 2 and more. Stay tuned for the rest of our pre-TGS coverage.

If you're talking about Celda, personally, I am a fan of clever portmanteaus.

With a mix of Zelda.
Anyways, how did you get these pictures so fast?

How many Zelda clones even exist? I can't even think of ten, which I'd say is a pretty small amount considering the franchise is over 20 years old. I say bring on the Zelda clones, as long as they're decent.
Having said that, it still is a bit ridiculous how similar they've made it appear. The lead character seems to be a female clone of Link with a palette swap.

I was all for this game when the artwork first came out but now it's another gimmicky touch screen game.

Yes. Yes, I suspect I WILL ultimately be buying this.
I'm glad to see EA actually trying to breach the core Nintendo base by giving them games they've been proven interested. I can't believe more publishers never try.
I mean, Xbox and 360 got a gluttony of FPS games, PS2 got a ton of JRPGs and action games.
But Nintendo consoles? Nothing. Never any Mario clones, no Zelda clones, not Metroid clones. Not since the SNES days, at least.
Although kudos to Ubisoft for trying to do the same thing with that TMNT game. Just a shame that the roster sucks and...it's TMNT. Not sure that brand has anywhere near the selling power it once did.

Touch screen controls are fine but not in adventure games especially for controlling the characters.
I wouldn't mind if we are able to use the d-pad to move him around but all touch in this sense is a gimmick.
