Sega/Sony would be stupid to not make it happen.

They'd generate a ton of cash.

WOAH WHAT?!
I was just looking at PSN games last night and thought "Man, how about a PS2 category?" Can't wait to see it happen!

I'd also like PSP games playable on the PS3, anyone agree with that?

Odds are after this leak most of the deals could be called off. Leaks like this don't exactly instill confidence in managment. It also makes mos tof the other console owners cry foul.

If it does happen i want the psp to get the dreamcast games. It is button for button the same as the dreamcast controller

Damn. I had not even realized that.

Would make the perfect platform for a Skies of Arcadia 2 even. If Sega makes that happen, a PSP is as good as mine. Let's not even get in a list of the wealth of quality DC titles to begin with.

It may also refer to Greek fables (or myths, if you prefer). I think you can connect the dots from there.

I'm wandering if that part has anything to even do with Sony at all, don't know why they couldn't in general have rare and fable characters in thier games with Micro's permission of course, its when it is linked with Sony that Micro will give the NO NO

@Donald: then they would be using an uppercase F for Fables; it would be written as fables. And they would probably mention Greek in there too.

Seems like a misplaced section since Rare and Fable are both Microsoft, and you'll never see a Fable character or Banjo-Kazooie characters on a Sony console.

Rare & Fable are MS owned, so you can forget about seeing anything from those games in the psn world.

Absolutely. I'd love to play some of the old Dreamcast fighters again (i.e. Capcom vs. SNK, 3rd Strike). If they do put PS2 titles on the PSN, I wonder which ones they will put in first.

Well this would explain the new backwards compatibility software Sony patented for the PS3 a few months back.

However, while this is indeed awesome, I reeeeeeally don't want to buy back my old PS2 games. I already own a giant stack! Can't I just get a damn software patch and play them?

I could not agree more. Sony gave a vague statement about allowing owners of the PSP Go! to download titles they already own on UMD for a discount fee.

Now clearly they haven't explaind exactly how high this fee would be but a similar model for PS2 on PS3 would rock my socks.

Anyone with common sense should know that Sony wants PS2 titles on PSN.....I mean look at how they are re-doing God of War 1 & 2...Thats being ported with upgraded graphics and addition of trophies...

Thing is though I wouldn't think they would want ALL PS2 Titles on PSN, at least they wouldn't be able to put ALL of them up there, I would imagine that they would port them on a game by game basis....the BIG titles...the ones that are part of a series of a game thats about to come out(i.e.: The Twisted Metal series, Shadow of The Colossus, ICO, etc...) Time will tell tho...time will tell

as for the Dreamcast games on PSN...I would have thought they they would go to the 360 if anything...interesting indeed..

They don't even have 1/100000000000000th of ALL the PS1 titles available on the [North American] store. I was browsing last night, and there's like 30 total. K maybe more, but not by much. There's no way they're gonna deliver every PS2 game ever.

Power Stone, Hydro Thunder and Rush 2049 were the first I thought of. That would make me so happy if they get released. I would prefer Rush to go to XBLA because I have the 360 Racing Wheel. But I'll be happy as long as it gets a re-release!

I call bullsh*t. The 'Document' mentions Rachet and Clank, Fable and Rare in the same sentence. Microsoft owns Rare, and Fable is an Xbox exclusive...theres no way that Microsoft would allow DLC of thier IP on a rival system.

Maybe they ment they could distinguish the ps3 verson from the 360 version by giving the 360 those DLC characters?

Still, doesn't add up.

Yeah, that one seems pretty far out there. Keep in mind though that these are supposedly notes from a meeting. Maybe someone at Sega just threw out a bit of wishful thinking. Or maybe I'm just having wishful thinking hoping this could be true :(

Huh. This is my problem with fanboys, they never think things through. To say the company you're cheering for is making a comeback is to imply that they are previously in the gutter, thus nullifying all previous trollage.

Tool.

Personally I like collecting the actual discs, but I still think this is a great idea. The more ways that old games are available the better (also it'll make the stuff I want to buy cheaper :-).

The only thing that contributed to the demise of SEGA was SEGA itself. With that being said, SEGA has been publishing games exclusively for Nintendo (the DS Sonic games, for example) for years now. If you went back 15 years in the past and told someone that they would have laughed in your face.

I'm okay with redownloading some of my favorite PS2 games to play on the PS3. Just from a pure laziness standpoint its so much easier to just bring up the XMB and select what you want. But I would be EVEN MORE for it if they brought in trophy support for select titles or added a little something extra, hell even a home t-shirt or something goofy.

agreed, I really like just going to the xmb to change games. Sure it's lazy, but it's also more efficient, and it's easier to select a game when you have all the choices RIGHT there, or when you have only 5 minutes to kill and you just start up flOw.

and I would never mind a free T-shirt with a game. :).
