Borderlands PC release bumped to October 26

Though Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will be able to get their hands on Gearbox's CO-OP-FPS-RPG on October 20, PC gamers will have to go without Borderlands for six long days. Speaking to IGN, a 2K representative explained that the release of the PC version had been pushed back to October 26 (and October 30 for overseas retailers) in order to allow the developer to continue "optimizing" the game.

We don't really know what that means, but the fact that our PC kinsmen will be playing a version of Borderlands with six extra days of polish behind it has instilled us with a blinding jealous rage.

I'm really considering getting this game for PC. I know that it CAN look a lot better on PC, I just don't know if it will on my PC. I can't find system requirements anywhere.

There's something to be said for a console where you know you'll get the same experience that they intended or whatever.

I don't think the official requirements have been released yet. But in my experience, it doesn't take all that much of a gaming computer to outdo the current gen console graphics. On the nvidia side, an 8800, 9600, or any of the GTX 200 series can match them. Not as much experience with ATI cards, so I can't offer anything there. Most newish games will run at decent settings on a dual core around 2 GHz.

This seems like it will be one of those games that will be good (hopefully) but will get lost in the shuffle.

There is a counter of work items to be done before the game is gold.

Watch the counter to know when its officially finished. This is why its been pushed back.

It got pushed back because they made a little counter widget for their website? That is the weakest excuse ever!

This game has looked great since I first saw it. BUT, didn't that last trailer, speicifically, seem terrible to anyone else?

I can't decide between this seemingly splendid IP and the hyped MW2. It's a shame that they're so close to each other...

I'll wait for the reviews. Screens look great for both, though.

I really hope there's a demo of this game. I've heard a lot of good things about it, but something makes me think it's not for me. Something about the million combinations of guns doesn't sound so great.

yeah, a demo would be nice

6 days is not bad, while 6 months would be. If it means that the game performs better and comes with less bugs, it's a good thing to me

They pushed Batman for the PC back and that one came out a buggy mess. I'm sure the extra time is an attempt to fix more PC specific bugs...and they probably actually need a couple more months.
