"not so hilarious, minute-long trailer"
fixed it for you.
U U D D L R L R B A SELECT START @ Sep 24th 2009 2:42PM
I know, what a terrible trailer trying to make me laugh with its portrayal of an over the top, very animated character that seems unique from any other character I've seen in a game thus far. Such a shame that all games can't have the comedic dexterity of Saints Row 2. I mean in that game you get to spray poop on houses. POOP! Can you think of anything that tops poop's inherent comedic value? I submit no you can not!
X3HaloEd @ Sep 24th 2009 5:23PM
I know what you mean. It's almost as funny as the underwear-clad, pelvic-thrusting idiot in this trailer. Underwear! Can you think of anything that tops underwear's inherent comedic value? I submit no you can not!
RagnarokSam @ Sep 24th 2009 2:06PM
lol...arab money.
Platinum_Skeet @ Sep 24th 2009 2:27PM
lol I always wondered how an Arab Billionaire singing this song would act like... Rockstars put a picture to that face...
This is a must buy now...
Obie @ Sep 24th 2009 2:08PM
Looks like I am booking a flight to Liberty City this October, it's always the (freakin' crazy) people that bring me back. :D
Stevetrop @ Sep 24th 2009 8:52PM
Same with you. I been holding back on taking a trip to Liberty City. Now if only I can find a ticket so I can head back to Vice City. Let me bask in the sun on the beach with girls having big poofy blonde hair in bikini's and listening to 80s rock while driving my Sentinel XS.
Discotheque @ Sep 24th 2009 2:12PM
Wow an arab-muslim character that's not the terrorist villain?
shadowhowl1900 @ Sep 24th 2009 3:18PM
arab name does not mean its a muslim.
Bobs @ Sep 24th 2009 3:49PM
that is true, there are Arab christians (most in Iraq and lebanon), jews, and of course atheists
but they are a very small minority
X3HaloEd @ Sep 24th 2009 5:25PM
Wow, I'm so glad this game breaks through the common stereotypes that plague today's video games.
Ok, I lied. Who gives a fuck?
Kamal @ Sep 24th 2009 2:12PM
Looks like this DLC is gonna huge, HUGE!
Eh @ Sep 24th 2009 2:13PM
This looks way better than Lost and the Damned.
arrrgh @ Sep 24th 2009 3:34PM
I agree!
And considering that L&D actually turned out to be pretty awesome, I am stoked for this episode
Jerk Face @ Sep 24th 2009 4:27PM
I was going to say.. The Lost and Damned was pretty friggin' good!
michas_pi @ Sep 24th 2009 2:14PM
We built the pyramids, baby.
Anemos @ Sep 24th 2009 3:10PM
Actually, the aliens started building the pyramids first but then Kanye interrupted them so they left our galaxy for good.
Some time later, Yusuf and company finished up the pyramids.
Of course, all of this happened in a galaxy far far away.
ZEPtheCHEF @ Sep 24th 2009 2:28PM
got to love ron brown, eh? great fucking trailer.
captainprotonx @ Sep 24th 2009 2:24PM
Hotness.
Militant07 @ Sep 24th 2009 2:25PM
Are they making fun of us ?? (arabs)
i boycot if they were seriouse
Obie @ Sep 24th 2009 2:29PM
Of course they are making fun...it's Rockstar!
Eh @ Sep 24th 2009 4:18PM
Making fun of arabs? So the mere mention of arabs is now considered making fun of them?
X3HaloEd @ Sep 24th 2009 5:28PM
*sniffle sniffle*
Chilly P @ Sep 24th 2009 2:29PM
Saints Row 2 > GTA IV
Rollins @ Sep 24th 2009 2:31PM
Agreed, though I'd love it if SR2 got the same sort of DLC episodes that GTA4 does.
arrrgh @ Sep 24th 2009 3:38PM
wtf planet do you kids live on?
Jerk Face @ Sep 24th 2009 4:29PM
The one where atmosphere, story, and character building don't matter and spraying poop on houses while naked is what makes gaming so great.
Chilly P @ Sep 24th 2009 7:05PM
I'm sorry, but I value good gameplay and tight, comprehensive controls. GTA IV had neither. I'd rather play a fun game than a realistic one.
Oh, and if "Immigrant with annoying accent comes to America to babysit his cousin and kill people" passes as good story for you, then I'd be willing to bet that you think Michael Bay movies have great story, atmosphere, and character-building as well.
So, yes, you can have your bowling and darts mini-games that are about as much fun as a dental appointment, and I'll take my ATV-on-fire and unlimited rocket launcher mini-games instead.
If I want story, I play Bioshock or KotOR. If I want sandbox, gangsta fun, I'll take Saints Row 2.
vwbeetlvr @ Sep 24th 2009 2:33PM
This is going to be great!!1
aniki @ Sep 24th 2009 2:33PM
If my ears don't deceive me, that's the excellent Omid Djalili as Yusuf. I might buy this just for his involvement.
Nguyen @ Sep 24th 2009 2:34PM
correct me if i'm wrong, isn't this the guy that screwed PBX over on that construction business he was trying to get into?
WiredKnight: Keeper of Threads @ Sep 24th 2009 2:35PM
Ha, looks like I was a second too late.
WiredKnight: Keeper of Threads @ Sep 24th 2009 2:34PM
OH!
This is the guy who owned that construction site that Playboy X wanted you (Niko) to kill the contractors and workers on.
Enosoma @ Sep 24th 2009 2:40PM
Yeah, it is.
My sister knows a guy knows Yousef. One day I asked who she was with, when she said "Yousef" I thought she said "yourself" and confusion ensued.
Enosoma @ Sep 24th 2009 2:42PM
GOD DAMN forgot to pause the video. Exiting now because "DREAMS CAN BE REAL IF YOU LET THEM... THIS IS THE FABRIC OF OUR LIVES"
BIacked Out @ Sep 24th 2009 2:43PM
The Jews built the pyramids man. Will somebody please think of the jews?
Timett @ Sep 24th 2009 2:46PM
If you're the sort of gamer who only liked GTA because you could run around the city and cause havoc and do crazy shit and barely played the missions at all (there are a lot of people like this) than I could see why someone would like Saints Row better than GTA4.
I personally disliked all past GTA games but really got into GTA4 and Lost and Damned because the world Rockstar crafts and the stories they tell there really connected with me this time around. Saints Row can't touch GTA4 when it comes to characters and story which is why I like this game more than anything.
Randall Hopkins @ Sep 24th 2009 9:18PM
As if it needed to be confirmed: day one purchase.
Jason Statham (Has a ps3 now) @ Sep 24th 2009 3:37PM
Agreed. While I'll admit that there's more to do in SR2 than there is to do in GTAIV, I'll say this: Quality always beats quantity.
The fact is, GTAIV is just a much better game. That's not to say SR2 is bad, it isn't. But it's nowhere near as good as any of the GTA games. I've always played GTA for the satire and the story and that's why I'll always go back to the GTA world.

Busta Rhymes - Arab Money
Kyle Nichol @ Sep 24th 2009 3:09PM
Damn, I was right in thinking he was voiced by Omid Djalili.
Snowblind @ Sep 24th 2009 3:13PM
Noticed it was him about half way through.
Awesome :)

Ballad of Gay Tony is what GTA 4 should have been from the start (parachutes, insane missions, tanks, etc). It's great to see rockstar going back to what made them and GTA popular in the first place. Will gladly rebuy GTA 4 and get this as soon as I can.
Timett @ Sep 24th 2009 3:47PM
L&D spoilers?
.
You kill Gay Tony in a mission involving the diamonds over the course of Lost and Damned, yea?
LocketRaunchers @ Sep 24th 2009 6:23PM
No.
robert @ Sep 24th 2009 4:24PM
