PSN Thursday: More free Batman DLC, Broken Steel
The highlight in this week's PSN Update is that The Bats is back with more free DLC. Also, for Fallout 3 owners not planning to trade up to the "game of the year edition," the single most important piece of DLC for the game, Broken Steel, is now available from the PSN store for $10. For those who don't know, Broken Steel takes away "the ending" of the game and allows the (anti-)hero of the Capital Wasteland to continue their journey with an increased level cap. Check out the full update after the break -- and, sadly, no Trine.

Why the link to a month old post for RB DLC?
davebo @ Sep 24th 2009 11:52PM
They do that every single week. I'm starting to think joystiq is getting paid by Activision to only post new Guitar Hero content and snub Rock Band. Wish this site could get its act together.
sonicspike41 @ Sep 24th 2009 6:51PM
Your Rock Band link points to the wrong article. It sends people to an August RB Weekly update. This is the correct article for this weeks RB tracks:

Cut em some slack.
With as much trouble as Bethesda has had bringing out DLC, and how they probably wouldn't hesitate to delay something (again) if it turned out as buggy as past releases have been, I'd be cautious to confirm anything until I saw it on the store as well.

NOPE.

Reuben @ Sep 24th 2009 7:00PM
I have to admit, after the release of FFVIII on the Japanese store yesterday I was expecting at least SOME PSN classics today.
My fault for getting my hopes up.
TreyIM @ Sep 24th 2009 9:31PM
What's the big deal?? All the great PS3 current gen games and such yet people upset about old, tired PS1 and PS2 games not showing up on the PSN. Maybe since I started gaming before Atari that I am more than happy with current gen games and don't need to go back memory lane. THIS gen is what I've dreamed about as a kid yet kids today want games from back in the day??? I can never understand that. Maybe it's about kids being so spoiled these days, more than anything, and young PS3ers are comparing what the 360 gets with a "me too" attitude. Eh...
Appreciate what you have, mang. U have no idea how much you do have available to you.
Reuben @ Sep 24th 2009 9:49PM
I clamor for more PS classics because I don't believe in just forgetting about past gaming accomplishments. Just because a game has aged doesn't mean that we should all just move on. I'm not bitter about it, I have Silent Hill and Blood Omen to keep me accompany. Now, I never said that I wasn't happy with current gen games. Believe me, I sure as hell am. I just don't see what's so wrong about wanting to re-experience older titles now that the technology is available to stroll down memory lane with a digital download (legally).
To the point: I'm a young, 20 year old gamer that has a deep appreciation for past achievements. What's wrong with that?
SpaceFox @ Sep 24th 2009 7:02PM
Woot! Lost Planet 2 demo!
ChocoDK @ Sep 24th 2009 7:06PM
Yay for Broken Steel. I have been downloading it since around 6pm EDT but am not sure if its finished yet.
Cypher @ Sep 24th 2009 7:07PM
*siiiiiigh*
And still no new DLC for LittleBigPlanet...
Sly (Now with less shake, more bake!) @ Sep 24th 2009 8:37PM
they're still working on water aren't they?
thetveye @ Sep 24th 2009 7:09PM
Whoa whoa whoa.
Not a single PSOne Classic? When the f**k am I gonna be able to play Tomba again?!
Wardo @ Sep 24th 2009 7:47PM
I own that game, love every second of it!
Filthy Assistant @ Sep 24th 2009 8:10PM
I let a friend borrow Tomba years ago and he never gave it back. I've sent him multiple angry messages on facebook and every other site he goes to about it.
Tomba was seriously one of the best PS1 games. You can't play it on PS2 or (I assume) PS3, though. One of the few games that you can't, actually. I just want it back for the principle.
Wardo @ Sep 24th 2009 9:33PM
I've played it on my PS3. ^_^
Filthy Assistant @ Sep 25th 2009 9:07AM
Yeah I just looked that up, that's rad. Too bad copies are so expensive, I really want to play it again.
Todd @ Sep 24th 2009 7:15PM
Why is The Faint on Guitar Hero? They need to be on Rock Band! I want to play The Faint on Rock Band!!!
fundando @ Sep 24th 2009 8:11PM
I agree 100%
fundando @ Sep 24th 2009 8:38PM
OH yeah http://www.rockband.com/request
Saad77 @ Sep 25th 2009 2:14AM
The Faint definitely needs to come to rock band! I saw them live about 10 years ago when i still lived in the states. Awesome band!
jarhead906 @ Sep 24th 2009 7:26PM
Joystiq makes it sound like all the Broken Steel add-on does is moves the level cap. That's not it, is it?
Wardo @ Sep 24th 2009 7:48PM
No it is by far the best update and extends the main story as well as adding side quests.
Goku1910 @ Sep 24th 2009 7:34PM
I hate it how they post PSP content on the PS3 store....THAT is annoying.
CrashSpyro123 @ Sep 25th 2009 12:20AM
Why? They need to offer flexibility in where people can get PSP content (PSP, PS3, PC) to meet most everyone's needs.
likemike1117 @ Sep 24th 2009 7:37PM
any new avatars????? they promised it in FW 3.0
Kombat @ Sep 24th 2009 7:43PM
NOPE! no new fuckin advatars.... Still waiting.. And waiting... And waiting. Thx Firmware 3.0.. Thx for nuthing ya bastard!
eNrique @ Sep 24th 2009 8:46PM
When Critter Crunch releases we are getting new avatars, at least that's what they replied to me in the PS Blog (I asked about the avatars of Critter C)

Kdiggy @ Sep 24th 2009 10:20PM
Avatars are the the single reason I own a gaming console in the first place. I could care less about great games, demos, and movies. GIVE ME AVATARS!!
kosmocrisis @ Sep 24th 2009 11:23PM
KDiggy - hahahaha, sarcasm...I love it!
BTW, your avatar is wearing two different colored socks.
DrunkRaba @ Sep 24th 2009 11:59PM
Maybe you don't read the blog, Lempel said not till "early 2010"
Wardo @ Sep 24th 2009 7:48PM
Batman DLC ftw.
Jacksons @ Sep 24th 2009 8:09PM
Wow, looks like I'll be playing some demos.
Xeones25 @ Sep 24th 2009 8:17PM
The prices for the Power Stone Collection and Valhalla Knights is wrong. PSC is $20 and VK is $15.
I saw that PCS was $15 and immediately started up Media Go to buy it and found it to be $20. I can buy the disc version for $14, why should have have to pay $6 more for the download version game? I could justify an extra $1 for the, hopefully, faster loading times. Sony should look up the price of games on amazon and then put the download version for $5 less or something. Current prices are a complete ripoff on a vast majority of the PSP games.
Xeones25 @ Sep 24th 2009 8:23PM
Also, Manhunt 2 is not available for download whatsoever.
Reuben @ Sep 24th 2009 8:40PM
I agree with you; the prices of a lot of those games are absurd. Manhunt 2 is almost two years old, and offering it for download at $30 is ridiculous.
Whether it's up there or not, it is/would be a major slap in the face
Xeones25 @ Sep 24th 2009 8:53PM
My friend just told me that Manhunt 2 is available for purchase through the PSN store on the PS3. I just checked Media Go again it wasn't there, then I downloaded the Half Minute Hero demo and went back to the What's New page and... poof... Manhunt 2 appears....
