I wonder if the announcement of this will in any way impede current sales of the console, because I know if I was going to get a PS3 and saw this I would want to wait till the special edition came out since its quite pretty compared to the rather utilitarian matte black Slim.

I doubt it will have much of an effect. Not everyone reads blog posts on video games, and I doubt there will be any advertising for this until it's available.

FF8 will come to NA store and speaking of FF8 was one of the best stories of FF and to newbies Shut the F*&(#( UP.

Oh man I hope that comes out in America (Or that the Japan version works in America. I wouldn't know much about that.) because it just looks great.
