Why are you not live blogging this shit?
el serpiente @ Sep 24th 2009 1:06AM
Really, you guys liveblog the business briefing, but not this?
Marius @ Sep 24th 2009 1:06AM
Fail I know
GiggMan @ Sep 24th 2009 1:16AM
I believe that the press conference may be totally in Japanese.
It may be hard to translate if they don't have an interpreter.
....Or maybe I'm just making excuses for them......
Traceur_Ryuk [All Digital until December] (PSN: Ryuk_shinigami) @ Sep 24th 2009 1:18AM
True, I love Joystiq and all but it IS their job.
(Still love you Joystiq... in a completely platonic way of course)

Andrew Yoon @ Sep 24th 2009 1:46AM
We had some issues with EVDO, electricity and dragons.
el serpiente @ Sep 24th 2009 1:55AM
Ever hear of morse code, Yoon?

Oh YEAH!
oh wait...
I don't live in Japan...
Heimbachae @ Sep 24th 2009 8:40AM
that's why you get a JP PSN account and hope for the best that they'll release it as a digital download!!!
SoCoolCurt (PSN: KillaKornbread - XBL: SoCoolCurt) @ Sep 24th 2009 11:27AM
but don't you still need a Japanese credit card for that? or could you import a Japanese PSN card for just such an occasion?
Bronco-fan @ Sep 24th 2009 1:03AM
As if this wasn't depressing enough, they JUST announced RE 5 with playstation waggle next year :\
Bronco-fan @ Sep 24th 2009 1:05AM
player uses the dualshock in 1 hand and the waggle wand in the other, just to clarify. Dear lord.... :(
Lambrick @ Sep 24th 2009 1:09AM
oh no, and you HAVE TO BUY AND PLAY this game, right?
Bronco-fan @ Sep 24th 2009 1:12AM
If I understood the G4 liveblog, this won't be patched into RE5, but released as a director's cut of sorts. So yeah, gotta buy a whole new game just for waggle.
[ArchiGamer] [Painstakingly Written Before A Live Audience] @ Sep 24th 2009 1:18AM
What?
johnnynumber5 @ Sep 24th 2009 1:21AM
Yes thats indeed true. But, I'm sure the game won't require dual shock 3 in one hand and motion in the other. That won't fly at all. If so, thats a pure fail.
Bronco-fan @ Sep 24th 2009 1:21AM
Follow the G4 liveblog, the guy(s) doing that are really good. LBP is also getting waggle support (which WILL be patched in) but it seems to be more like Mario Galaxy's co op than actual waggle.
johnnynumber5 @ Sep 24th 2009 1:26AM
Yeah I'm following the Live Blog. I don't think they would release this and require the player to use a DS3 and waggle mote. That's retarded. WHy not add analogue sticks to the motion controller? I won't be buying this new Resident Evil with Waggle unless it's implemented better.
Mr Khan @ Sep 24th 2009 12:00PM
I thought they *had* added an analogue stick to the controller?
GiggMan @ Sep 24th 2009 1:07AM
Grand Turismo, God of War, MAG, etc
It's official, I'm postponing Christmas until Spring 2010!!
johnnynumber5 @ Sep 24th 2009 1:27AM
HEAVY RAIN!!! Can't forget Heavy Rain.
nukee @ Sep 24th 2009 1:46AM
I haven't forgotten Heavy Rain. I've been watching the videos more and more. Every time the game just looks that much more amazing.
Massmass @ Sep 24th 2009 2:14PM
It's funny how Gran Turismo was supposed to be only 65% done and they plan to magically finish it by march? don't worry, it'll get delayed until the fall of that year.
Lambrick @ Sep 24th 2009 1:09AM
a date YES
CheeziePotato (PSN: talic10 | XBL: InfiniteMovie) @ Sep 24th 2009 1:09AM
Damn I need to pick up Prologue now
ripslymemc @ Sep 24th 2009 1:09AM
Great release date! I do have some extra time near the end of my senior year...
eNrique @ Sep 24th 2009 1:09AM
I just can't stop watching this.

The city is beautiful.
skyzbig @ Sep 24th 2009 1:10AM
I knew I shouldn't have let myself believe it was coming in December...
TreND @ Sep 24th 2009 1:15AM
it isnt that much more to wait..
but i feel your pain...
johnnynumber5 @ Sep 24th 2009 1:22AM
At least it's coming reasonably soon and we have a concrete date. In the meantime I'll be playing the hell out of Gran Turismo PSP unlocking cars and what not. EPIC!!!!!
But, I also wish it was coming this Christmas.
johnnynumber5 @ Sep 24th 2009 1:25AM
I'm going out on a limb here but I think Gran Turismo 5 will be the best selling racing game of all time. I'm sure some Mario kart iteration has that title now but this game is going to redefine the standard for all racing games with the content they are providing for $60. I hope they have an uber special Modern Warfare esque hardcore edition. I'm all over it. I'm tired of the half assed racing games. I'm good with the arcade ones but the ones pretending to be realistic (NFS:Shift, Forza etc) aren't fulfilling my desires.
AUS_JD @ Sep 24th 2009 3:34AM
johnnynumber5 said "ones pretending to be realistic (NFS:Shift, Forza etc)"
Lolololololololololololol C'mon Johnny...Forza less realistic than GT5??????????
BOTH of these games are arcade fluff with sim trappings. They look nice but the physics models are pretty ordinary in both.
For your information johnnynumber5 real racing sims start with names like GTR or rFactor or.........
They're exlusive too PC. Arcade games (GT5 and Forza 3) for the home arcade machines (PS3 and Xbox360)
sc00by_y00 @ Sep 24th 2009 7:03AM
AUS_JD,
you know whats funny top gear showed F1 racing car drivers pro racing drivers using GT, because the race tracks are nearly perfectly identical to the real race track, here the proof:
http://playstation.joystiq.com/2008/01/07/real-race-car-drivers-use-gran-turismo-to-train/
From Joystiq, I know this for a fact because a few years back The top gear presenters were talking to actual f1 drivers and they were admitting to using the then ps2 with GT to learn a couple of new tracks that had been put into the world championship..
also the logitech g25/g27 both work on the ps3 with GT
Chillski @ Sep 24th 2009 8:17AM
aus_jd if i could downvote u twice i would...
Mr Khan @ Sep 24th 2009 8:29AM
It would either be Mario Kart Wii or Gran Turismo 3 holding that title to my recognition. But we've never seen what Gran Turismo can do on a comparatively low-selling platform (though GT3 had less of a userbase to work with when it came out, i think)

Um.. no!! Utter fail dude. By the time this game comes out (if EVER) people will have enjoyed the holiday racing titles and move on to other genres. GT is not that great anyways. Pretty yes.. but there are other racers on the market that are pretty and MORE fun. You know where this is going. Besides.. if you miss the holiday window.. you miss everything. No big crowds buy games in March. Nice try though.
el serpiente @ Sep 24th 2009 1:27AM
Consider me officially motherf*cking (I hate this word) pumped for GT5.
It's been a long god damned wait. I can wait just a little bit longer now that we know when it is coming.
I shall kneel in front of the large TV in my living room, arms spread wide to receive the bukkake of awesomeness that shall shine gloriously upon me when I finally load it into the machine.
johnnynumber5 @ Sep 24th 2009 1:35AM
PREACH ON BROTHER!
You got me flopping around aimlessly speaking in tongues over here!

2000 and late?
did you just quote fergie?
just leave
rahmenxnoodles69 @ Sep 24th 2009 1:30AM
... so it's coming to the US in May?
My prediction anyway, given GT4's release date.
Pastadude @ Sep 24th 2009 1:33AM
Nah, probably like November or December 2010. The production time for GT games is outrageous. I understand they need to be "perfect" but why tease it if it's 4 years away? Vision GT was teased in 2006, and GT5 prolouge was barely finished in time. I love GT, but Forza had made excellent strides and pushed GT to innovate more in less than half the time. Kudos to both!
rahmenxnoodles69 @ Sep 24th 2009 1:39AM
@Pastadude
Oh yeah Polyphony is a TOTAL tease when it comes to anything Gran Turismo.
I remember when GT (PSP) was announced: before the PSP was even released!!
Now here we are FIVE AND A HALF YEARS LATER and it's finally almost here XD
el serpiente @ Sep 24th 2009 1:42AM
November/December? You on crack boy?
johnnynumber5 @ Sep 24th 2009 1:44AM
Nooooo .... I bet this releases on the same day or shortly after in North America. Why wouldn't it? I'll import the shit if it's going to be another year.
Chris D.(PSN: Aggie_CEO | XBL:The Aggie CEO | Steam: Aggie_CEO @ Sep 24th 2009 6:28AM
Most likely next Holiday season...that really fuckin blows....my wallet appreciates it really....but my gamers spirit doesnt...
bknight @ Sep 24th 2009 1:32AM
Forza for me and is it going to be huge over xmas.
I would of waited for GT5, if it was going to come out this year.
