TGS 2009: Oh yeah, this is that Alienware announcement
According to Alienware, the M15x is "the most powerful 15-inch gaming laptop in the universe" and its Area-51 and Area-51 ALX are "designed for extreme gamers and tech enthusiasts who demand only the latest, most advanced equipment." Wait ... this can't be ... just as we predicted!
Oh, and the desktops have retractable ventilation scales. Seriously. Better watch out for micro black holes!

Lame. I could build a desktop more powerful and for less.
Ghen @ Sep 24th 2009 10:48AM
But but, the scales! They glow and flex!
acefondu @ Sep 24th 2009 10:53AM
Agreed. I always prefer desktops for gaming anyway.
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Sep 24th 2009 11:05AM
I've been using an HP HDX 18 laptop to play my share of PC games and while the experience is great, I can understand why some may prefer desktop PCs.
To be fair the only PC games I play are from either Valve or Blizzard...
Everything else goes in the PS3.
Victoryismine @ Sep 24th 2009 12:34PM
couldn't have said it better LAME! To be honest when they started all that talk I thought for sure they were going to anounce something good like the most powerful gaming computer and it only cost $300 or something that would bring PC gaming back to the mainstream but this this was LAME
mortegro545 @ Sep 24th 2009 1:39PM
At least they really like TRON though.
WiredKnight: Keeper of Threads @ Sep 24th 2009 2:38PM
And the first one was shaped like a Wii.
Duke @ Sep 24th 2009 2:57PM
Lame was the first thing I thought too. Seriously, Alienware, blow it out your ass with hyping announcements of the same ol same ol.
Pat @ Sep 24th 2009 3:43PM
This just in! Alienware invents QuestWorld.
Kenoji (aka Neo Asuma) @ Oct 2nd 2009 11:45PM
And now, ladies and gentlemen, we have the latest laptop gaming device from Alienware, the Alienware M15x. This is currently considered to be most powerful gaming laptop from the company.
Bidding starts at $10,000. Do I hear $10,000?
Kevin Denehy @ Sep 24th 2009 10:37AM
People play games on computers? I thought they were just for porn...
Bradwart @ Sep 24th 2009 10:38AM

They're also great for trolling, apparently.

Courtney @ Sep 24th 2009 11:13AM
Guys, of course people play PC games. Haven't you heard of Bejeweled? And Solitaire!
captainprotonx @ Sep 24th 2009 11:18AM
Actually, yes.
My porn-box plays games.
PedoJokerBear [Planeteer | Power of Gall Bladder] @ Sep 24th 2009 11:28AM

CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Sep 24th 2009 10:36AM
Wow. They definitly rocked the gaming world to its foundation...right...
Ghen @ Sep 24th 2009 10:50AM
I'm ashamed, I was actually expecting more... This is just "to be expected" from a high end gaming pc company.
If I had money to burn I'd just burn a little more and go with Falcon Northwest anyway over these monstrosities.
Rahzel @ Sep 24th 2009 8:36PM
That video was really boring
Hugo Guzman @ Sep 24th 2009 10:37AM
That's not a laptop.
clanboru15 @ Sep 24th 2009 10:37AM
Probably about a 10 min battery life.
Falcon Punch @ Sep 24th 2009 10:38AM
I'll show you a large hard on collider

Stephen Hawking is dead?
Spartan [Planeteer | Power of Sunshine & Lollipops] @ Sep 24th 2009 11:30AM
Well, his grave will be turning until he get's there.
Shagittarius @ Sep 24th 2009 12:37PM
I always did like 'The Stand' but really thought he blew it with 'Pet Cemetery'.
Overlord_Dave @ Sep 24th 2009 4:23PM
@Shagittarius
Nah, Hawker's best work was always the Dark Tower series.
Tbh I'm surprised he found the time to do all that physics 'n' shit.
Maulok @ Sep 24th 2009 10:39AM
My world has been blown.

A laptop that can break the speed of light!?
Never seen that coming, honestly!
Brian @ Sep 24th 2009 10:45AM
The only thing that will be "shaking" are the cans customers will be using to panhandle, after they spend an arm and a leg on these overpriced machines...
MrSmiley1 @ Sep 24th 2009 10:48AM
Yeah, that pretty much rocked my face off. Good job!
ncxcstud @ Sep 24th 2009 10:49AM
So, what's the foundation cracking announcement? The fact that they released a product, like they normally do? Super expensive, technologically up-to-date computer? Or, is it the retractable ventilation scale things?
JSams4131 @ Sep 24th 2009 10:49AM
i am thoroughly shaken...
i wonder if they thought the deep, scary music made it perform better
Dakmagi83 @ Sep 24th 2009 10:51AM
Does it come bundled with the nvlddmkm error?
Rhamsey @ Sep 24th 2009 10:51AM
Eh, the cases for alienware are always nice, but anyone who needs a desktop that powerful should know how to build a far better pc for less. I always wanted to try their laptops though, as you cant really custom build those.
Wormdundee @ Sep 24th 2009 3:11PM
Woah woah, Alienware does not have nice cases, and they never have. If you want a nice case you go to Lian Li or Silverstone. Unless you think a hobillion flashing LEDs and flexible scale things = nice case.
IGLAW @ Sep 24th 2009 10:55AM
My gaming desktop scoffs at this "news".

BOOOOOOORRRRRINNNNNNNGGGG!!!
captainprotonx @ Sep 24th 2009 11:09AM
So....they made an ugly laptop.
Shimrra @ Sep 24th 2009 11:10AM
"the most powerful 15-inch gaming laptop in the universe"
Correction "the most powerful 15-inch gaming laptop in the universe for this year" sounds a bit more accurate.
Also Alienware hardware are great but they weight like a ton kinda defeats the purpose for pc gaming on the go.
