Capcom has unloaded a truckload of new media onto TGS attendees for upcoming Wii point-n-shooter Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, featuring a new, South American chapter. Leon Kennedy and RE4 bad guy (and Prototype, uh, prototype) Jack Krauser form an unlikely team for the side story. As if that wasn't enough to purple nurple the most diehard of Resident Evil fans, there's some re-imagining of elements from Code Veronica sprinkled into the new game as well.
After you've digested the video above, shoot past the break for another, and if you're looking for something a bit less moving, head into our gallery below. Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is scheduled for release on November 17.
Hmm, that story seems like fanservice more than anything else. Possibly even fanfiction. Oh well, the Resident Evil games were never known for having well-told stories.
I'll give this game a whirl when it comes out. After all, it does have Leon, my favorite R.E. character.
Because people buy the games regardless of how much work went into them? Why do a full monte for $40 when you can do 10 quickies in the same amount of time for $40 each?
Seriously though, the game looks great. I've always wondered why a handful of launch GCN games look way better than most current Wii games. I still don't have the answer.
I really enjoyed the first one, but I just hope it's easier to kill the zombies this time. I really think ONE headshot should do the trick, almost every time, without worrying about ammo. At least give me that option once the game has been beaten.
Al right capcom WTF? you said that RES5 in not coming to wii yet you bring an inspired level in chronicles now. why not in the first place you bring a RES evil that actually give me control of the character instead of some house of the dead rip of.
Wii owners would have been happy if RES5 is released on wii at least with this type of graphics.
Um.... Hi. Yes, this has BEEN DONE BEFORE. Capcom in Umbrella Chronicles did the Russia base arch in Umbrella Chronicles. Don't know why you're surprised at this.
This is really awesome, especially for a Wii title. I like how the devs make everything actually feel like a zombie outbreak with taking precaution going around corners, running away, etc;
I hope the South American segment will actually show us why Krauser dislikes Leon so much (i.e. why he's a bad guy in RE 4).
He only dislikes Leon because he started working with Umbrella. That's stated in RE4. For whatever reason, though, we don't really know, and I doubt they'll go into in this game. However, I hope it goes into the "crash" that Leon thought he died in.
I'm surprised at posts like these. If you're so into a series like Resident Evil, then why didn't you know about this new mission 2 weeks ago? It wasn't like they announced it at TGS. :p
Krauser: Pretty quiet around here. Leon: Where is everyone? *looks at Wii* Leon: Krauser, wait! There's never going to be more than 10 enemies at once. This place is as good as contained. Let's vacation somewhere else. Krauser: Can't do that Leon, we're on rails. Leon: Shit!

Well Krauser and Leon DID mention a past mission together in RE4..

I see this game and I get slightly frustrated, but not for the reasons you might think.
I want to know why more Wii games can't look like this.
vidGuy @ Sep 24th 2009 1:11PM
Agreed - this is what a Wii game should look like.

New from Ubisoft:
Imagine: Zombiez!
Imagine: Gunz!
Imagine: Brainz!
Okay, enough of this!

I'm sure more liberties can be taken with the hardware when making an on rails shooter. Also, it's amazing what a little bloom can do to a game.

Yeah but RE4 also looked incredible, even on the gamecube, some of my favorite graphics of any game still. Like them better than RE5.

Is it just me, or does Krauser sound like Duke nukem? RE: Chronicles Forever?
rahmenxnoodles69 @ Sep 24th 2009 4:20PM
HELL YESSSSSS
I was waiting for something RE4-related to be in a RE Chronicles game.
But I won't be completely satisfied until I get to play a whole RE4 chapter.
But that will most likely have to wait until the third Chronicles :/
But still,
YAYYYYYYYY MORE LEOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's like Chris, but less retarded lol

Well I don't scour the internet daily for any and all Resident Evil news.
I subscribe to a few RSS feeds and that works out fine for me.
