Sounds promising, but lacks any tangible ideas that can at least gives more of these guys are thinking.

Words are nice, but actions work far better.

I'm sorry but talk is cheap. EVERYONE wants to make a revolutionary game with interactions and depth.... but the real execution of it will not be as easy or as good as they say.

the day i have to talk back to my TV to feel like i'm "in the game" is the day i drop gaming.

I though natal had some serious problems like playing a driving game with an imaginary wheel, but now that i think about it i can just use the wii racing wheel i have. "I like having something on my hands when i'm playing" xD

what serious problems are you talking about? they played burnout paradise on jimmy fallon's late night show and it seemed pretty flawless to me.

David,

you keep saying that but I think you need to watch the video again. Fallon could barely keep the car on the road.

What problems you ask?

Isn't it obvious that when you drive a car you have tactile feedback from the wheel, tension from the pedals and vibrations from the road? It allows you to a complete range of motions. Without tension or force feedback you are left with basically OFF and ON or 1's & 0's. No tension for the pedal to adjust speed for acceleration, no subtle movements with the wheel because there is no wheel, no shifting because there is no aparatus for down shifting or up shifting.

It's great on paper but other than some casual tech demo there isn't a practical application for something like this. Why use Natal to play Burnout over a controller or a steering wheel controller? There has to be some form of an aparatus either real or otherwise virtual because thin air gives no resistance back to the player. Oh, and who the hells wants to play Burnout standing up???

There are so many issues with the practical applications that the gestures would get mixed up or they would need to be so defined and intricate that no one could pull them off. As it stands now Natal only works with big and exaggerated movements and not subtle ones.

You would have to use a wii steering wheel or some other circular device for the camera to track it and even still you get no feedback from it because it's inoperable. Also, having to use a steering wheel completely makes the concept of controller free gaming irrelevant. Why make Natal if I need a fake steering wheel? I'll just use an actual fake sterring wheel or a gamepad.

Doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose of Natal? I don't want to have to go out and buy a baseball bat just so playing a baseball game on Natal would feel right.

Haha, it's just the same old world but differing opinions will always elicit opposing responses. With some people fighting a lot more to make theirs the one everyone has to accept.

"The medical field -- an operation can use this technology."

Give me a fucking break. I HIGHLY doubt the medical field would consider using something like this from a gaming platform, as I'm sure many medical companies have already invested in time and money doing motion controls. Don't you think they've already thought about that?

I'd like to see a surgeon remove a brain tumour with the sort of claims that Natal offers. If the patient dies in the operation or becomes permanently brain damaged because of Natal's use in the operating room, then I'd like to see what sort of BS the hospital and MS will come up with to defend Natal.

Kojima needs a swift kick in the nuts for saying that sort of BS about using Natal in the medical field. There's a reason why surgeons are now using machines to help augment such surgeries: because they want to have full control over the operation and not let some random muscle twitch destroy the patient's life.

"OOooh I'm Kojima, I'm finally unabashedly supporting the 360 gravy train."

Saving face Hideo? Too bad DVD9 will make you focus more on gameplay than cinematics.

Haha, leave it to the guys to actually pose out what they would be doing. xD

I'm still REALLY skeptical about Natal, because I'm sure that when it comes out it'll be worth more than the system itself.

I'm not going to buy Natal unless if it has super awesome MW2 support. Otherwise, I have no use for it.
