The first thing I thought of when the music started was Heavy Metal, the movie..
I saw some slowdown. I hope they optimize the hell out of it.

Wow, that's -way- different than the other Crystal Chronicles.
Me likely.

Sorry... But this isn't what I remember signing up for.
I mean hell, even MLaaK and MLaaDL had some essence from the original and so did RoF as well but...
Man, Crystal Bearers just lacks the appeal it had from that original trailer way back when. It's like they're taking the sonic route, I.E. when in doubt, EXTREEEEEME.
I'll most likely try the game anyways but... I have a feeling the old days of fun dungeon crawling, easy hacking and slashing and fun four player co-op are dead.
Oh and the Celtic feel is completely non-existent. This is no longer a lush, mystic and unique world. ~_~

Well it does take place in the future, so that Celtic landscape probably has changed to something more futuristic.

Naw, didn't really do much, I gathered info on what to anticipate gameplay wise long ago. An action RPG...
I just... don't really want that from CC. I mean, I HOPE it works and I enjoy it in the end but...
Honestly, I just wanted improvements on the original gameplay system (Change up in weapons and 'class/role' I play, as well as maybe more attacks), a moderate/dramatic improvement to character customization (outfit, facial design, as said earlier, a defined class), a continuation of the main story (a game set either shortly or DIRECTLY after the first, MLaaK intrigued me with the approach to how the people are exploring the world with the miasma gone and I hoped for more like it) and just a graphical improvement.
Now seriously, I'm hoping we get that but really? I would just thought a simple hack and slash combat system would have been good. Akin to kingdom hearts without the over the top flashiness but...
It feels like that IS what happened. And I just don't like where they've gone with the story, I REALLY feel that it wasn't that necessary to focus that much on what happened prior to the first. The series just needed to move forward so... IMHO, this has the CHANCE to work, but I think maybe... Bleh.
tl;dr I don't have high hopes.

Wow, I get downvoted for having a reasonable and non-unruly opinion?
Good to know that the users here at joystiq are strong enforcers of the 'no matter what you say, you're wrong unless you agree with me' policy.
I mean seriously people, what in there was worth voting down? My favoring to previous titles? A general commentary? Or just that I was sharing my thoughts on the game?
I'm allowed to have an opinion but... I can't post about it I guess.

I dislike the music. The country tunes from the last trailer and this new guitar thing aren't very appealing to me. I hope they include some more "sophisticated" tunes to balance it out. But that's my opinion, maybe everybody here absolutely loves it and will argue that it fits the whimsical nature of the game.
Otherwise it looks freaking awesome. Action RPG of the year.

I happen to like the trailer, and where the game has gone. It feels more souped up and "exciting" than the other FF games, even in the CC side. i also like how Squenix is willing to experiment with the FF formula and see where they can take it.
As to this particular trailer, the beginning and ending are especially good, I think. The beginning, because when Layle is walking down the hallway in the tux he is humming the FF theme tune (not Crystal Chronicles, the "real" FF line) and the end with the double-take the moogle does between looking at Layle and the wanted poster is priceless.

I'm a little late to this party. We played the first FF:CC on the GameCube and enjoyed it [more or less] as a fun MP game. Will this game have MP as well, or have they abandoned that?

They're taking this in a completely different direction. No multiplayer, no leveling system. This game is like Zelda if Zelda had a really deep weapons system. So i suppose it's Zelda crossed with Phantasy Star Universe (since the weapons are what you need to advance)

I'm sorry for everyone who doesn't seem to enjoy the trailers, but I'm loving it. This is my most anticipated game to come out.
To clear things up though, it seems they split the trailer in two. The first half being about the silly things you can do and the second half more about the somewhat (guessing) serious story in the game.
They did this with the last trailer and I think it works well because the first half will get the attention of the Wii users everyone haste, and the last half gets the attention of the people who still want a Final Fantasy game.

Well, since pretty much every FF since the release of the PS2 has been soulless and devoid of fun, it's nice to see a little character being reinjected into the franchise. I honestly never thought that a Final Fantasy game would ever interest me again, but this has perked my attention nodules.

Im loving the direction and like the fact that it strays from the heavy rpg theme of every other FF game and spinoff. Plus the fact that the main character has these sick powers, knows how to use'em and enjoys it! No "sad i hate myself/don't want these powers" crap here!

It's definitely moved into the top of my contention for a Christmas present, especially with that release date. I won't have a game under the tree, but i'll have it one or two days later either way...
Really seems like it has a lot going on, between the cow abductions, the story vaguely reminiscent of the main-series, and the whole DOAXVB thing going on.

More decent Wii games is a good thing. Might not be GOTY but at least I'll be able to dust off the console for something other than parties.

This made me 1000x more excited for this game. I honestly never expected the game would be this humorous. This just became a day one purchase.
