I really loved the first game and I'm really looking forward to AC2 but I feel so oversaturated with news about this game. Seriously way too much publicity. I hope they don't kill it for me before it's even released.

I bought Assassin's Creed a few weeks ago along with some other games and haven't beaten it yet. I think it's good, but not great. It's a good idea, with some new mechanics, and high production.

I think this next Assassin's Creed could be great if they could just iron out the kinks in the first game while keeping it fresh. I loved everything about that trailer.

Would it have been better if I'd prefaced my comment with, "Speaking of the first game, "?

I'm very excited about this game. Between this and Modern Warfare 2, I'll be alternating disc quite often.

Along with.......Ratchet And Clank..........Uncharted 2.....and will be dusting of the old Wii to get in some New Super Mario Bros.

Looks great, definitely a must buy for me (though I'm a little less enthusiastic after hearing it's a 27 hour story...)

Completely pedantic note, but I want to spread historical awareness. This is what Da Vinci wrote on flying machines:

"Man when flying must stand free from the waist upwards so as to be
able to balance himself as he does in a boat so that the centre of
gravity in himself and in the machine may counterbalance each other,
and be shifted as necessity demands for the changes of its centre of
resistance"

After watching attached video, I put it to you that the Da Vinci in this game is not a factually accurate representation of the real-life Da Vinci!

DUM DUM DUUUUUUUMMMMM!

I always thought the rationale for becoming an assassin was best summed up by a particularly skilled marksman from down under:

"It's challengin' work, outta doors. I guarantee you'll not go hungry. 'Cause at the end of the day, as long as there's two people left on the planet, someone is gonna want someone dead."

i cannot WAIT for this game... i played the first and loved it (the side missions were a bit obnoxious at times though)
all the add-ins and expansions for this one are going to make it sooo much better. and i love how theres also a backstory to Ezio as to how he becomes an assassin, not that he was just one of your ancestors
also, ubisoft has an awesome choice of music for their AC2 trailers (this and the trailer with Justice)

Joystiq: I can't believe you're actually supporting Evony by placing shitty ads for it in the video, ads that pop up repeatedly despite pressing the x.

I'm disappointed that you'd advertise that god-awful joke of a game/company.

Joystiq doesnt advertise anything, didnt you notice that nowadays because a site talks about RMT, goldfarmers and such, it immediately pops up ads about it ? the people behind evony know very well how syndicated ads works and flood the internet with it.
Interesting article about those bastards here : http://www.bruceongames.com/2009/07/15/more-about-evony/

Seriously, is he in his 50's in AC2? Or is the '30 years ago' referring to some other vauge starting point?

Given the way the game goes you're probably playing one big Flashback so the 30 years comment could make some sense that way

So the narrator is an older Ezio?

We're going to be playing a guy from the future who goes back in time and assumes the identity of an ancestor to narrate the story of how he became an assassin 30 years before that?

When did time travel become so goddamn complicated?

This trailer, or game in general, seems kind of dumb.

But I'm obviously in the minority here, so don't mind me.

It seems like it's taking itself too seriously, though.

Gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that if you're looking for "honorable" combat, a game about assassins is probably the wrong place to start.

AC1 was a crappy game... it was extremely repetitive and the gameplay and story just did not pull me in whatsoever. But AC2... WoW, a revenge storyline, I like it... I was already looking forward to the game and have it on Pre-order already but now, I can't wait after seeing this video.
