You all fail to see why Gran Turismo 5 is better than Forza 3.

Yes Forza 3 is great, but Gran Turismo 5 takes the car racing genre to a whole different level. I BOUGHT GT5:P gladly, and I was very skeptical.

What sets Forza 3 apart from Gran Turismo 5:

Forza 3 is just another realism game that competes with Gran Turismo
Gran Turismo 5 a realism game that turns cars into pornography for car fans

Casual racing game players, buy Forza 3

Real car fans: Get the REAL DRIVING SIMULATOR, Get Gran Turismo 5.

Featuring 2.5x the cars of Forza 3 (400 vs 1000) and a better graphics system that brings the cars to life.

Look at how dull this blog entry's picture is. Full of gray, the cars look so soft. Compare that to this:

Jono, 75% of the cars in GT5 (or ANY GT game) are fucking worthless. I've said this before, no one wants to race a fucking PT Cruiser against a Yaris or a Honda Insight against a Prius.

And while GT5 may have 1000 cars, only 170 of them have damage modeling. Yeah, that's right. Look that up, sweetie.

auto magazines and auto shows are showing off GT5, thats the difference proper car nuts react to gt5, and dont really care for forza 3..

Check this out on the latimes website:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/uptospeed/2009/09/ferrari-458-italia-rendered-in-gran-turismo-5-forza-3.html

They have been kind enough to put both forza 3 and gt5 head to head for the ferrari 458, look at the render quality difference.

Im not surprised MS reps are happy, check the difference in quality between the 2, if you cant see how much nicer the gt5 render is then your a bit blind..

Planet you might not care about the extra cars, but a lot of people do, its better to have more, its about choice, its the ability to play with a lot more cars, its not like your paying more for it now is it ?. Forza3 has to install a second disk to get 2.5 times less cars, what does that tell you ?, it tells me that its technically impossible on the 360 because the install size would become at least a single bd if not a dual layer (25-50GB) have fun with that..

Because you say that the 1000 cars is irrelevant we have to take your word for it ? Just take it like a man, stop your whiny bitching..

FYI, I have GT5:P if you consider that a demo then thats great for you, but imho your a retard ...

LOL

Turn 10 failed at rigging a poll by giving people free cars if they voted for Forza 3 being the best upcoming sim racing game and they lost the poll. They also continue to have an arrogant insulting attitude towards PD. PD seems to remain professional and not say a thing.

A Microsoft employee was caught trolling and attempting to spread FUD on a Neogaf GT5 Release Date thread and was banned.

Yeah I bet they're all smiles.

He got downvoted but everything he said is in fact 100% true, but it was really only 1 guy who did all that. Che, their community manager, was banned on Gaf for trolling GT and he did in fact attempt to rig a poll by giving out free DLC, but once word got out about the rigging everyone flocked to the poll and voted for GT.

But 1 douche aside, they are happy because they know that they can't compete with GT in sales. I believe Prologue outsold Forza 2, and that was A) a demo and B) back when the ps3 didn't have nearly the amount of units as it does now.

I was on neogaf and saw his post. His guilt was that he was from Microsoft, but his post wasn't FUD. He said that it's sad that the there will have been 3 Forza Motorsport games release, inbetween full Gran Turismo games. Thats technically true.

Link please. Also why are my comments greyed out now, no one likes the truth? I gave my comments with facts or undeniable comments about said games.

I loved Forza 1, it owned Forza 3 and the damage was a nice touch but to think Forza 3 is better than Gran Turismo 5 is just a battle Microsot will only win in quantity (if they even achieve that) and not sheer quality.

If I still had an Xbox 360, i'd pick up Forza 3 as an appetizer until the real entre comes up :3

Bronco-Fan, 3 million != 4 million.

4 million copies of Forza 2 sold vs 3 million copies of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue sold.

Having 3 different versions of a franchise in between the releases of another != rushed.

There is a difference between efficiency and wasting time. While Turn 10 has been on the ball, Polyphony Digital has been sitting their twiddling their thumbs (GT HD and GT5 Prologue are both evidence of this) because they know they can take their time and it won't really affect their sales numbers. The development time of GT5 has gotten to the point of sad and pathetic. It should have been out earlier this year at the max.

What happened to all of that "Definitive racing game" confidence that they were spitting?

For competitions sake I would have like to seen them both released around the same time, some people need an ego check. As it stands now though I get to enjoy the hell out of the "Definitive racing game" for a while...... At least until GT5 comes out..

really tho...lol...fact is...GLOBALLY GT5 will BLAST Forza 3 out the water...not so sure about the US...but I think it may at least be close....

And what makes this better for GT5 is, with it coming out when it does(in japan) it doesn't HAVE to worry about being looked at side by side with the likes of Modern Warfare 2, Assassin's Creed 2, etc. If a guy only has SO much money and he would much rather shoot or stab than race and make videos of wrecks then he damn sure wont be getting Forza 3...and that Parent that getting stuff for Christmas and is only going to get a few games might get MW2 and Brutal Legend...GT 5 coming out right before Summer is a good spot for it to be I think....and now that I think of it...having access to the NASCAR license MIGHT make it sell even BETTER in the US!!

You can be confident and still be realistic. I'm sure he's confident that they made a great game, but can still understand the value in the game that basically defines the genre of sim racing not being released at the same time.

It would have been competition if PD didn't chicken out further like the last time.

I can't be the only one that remembers the release dates of GT pushed back from Forza competition. However, it always turns out to be "they're adding new features" when in reality, it was them subtracting features. Anyone else remember this?

From that comment you have never actually played a racing sim.

GT5 and Forza are ARCADE racers with sim elements. Nothing more.

You need a PC to play a car racing SIMULATOR. There are none available on consoles.

of COURSE they are happy....lol...I mean had it came out within 6 months it would have somewhat put a dent in Forza 3 sales....

I mean I am saddened that its not coming til next year, but I'm curious as to WHY we have seen GT5 250GB PS3 Bundles all over the place...unless all that stuff was just made up....one thing is certain...I'm going to play both either way....and I'm kinda glad GT5 wont be out til next year instead of this Holiday...hell us PS3 owners have an ASSLOAD of stuff coming the next 6 months anyways....Uncharted 2, Demon Souls, Ratchet & Clank, MAG, ModNation Racer,& God of War 3....then throw in the AAA Multi-platform releases like MW2, AC2, Bioshock 2, Army of Two:The 40th Day, Tekken, Bayonetta, etc....if it wasn't for GameFly I would be in a LOT of trouble with the wife for trying to buy all of those...lol

Not to support anyone in particular here.. but yea, actually they kinda do. They used GT4 to train on new tracks for their circuits that weren't able to be driven on yet, and new drivers have used it as a start since the tracks are exactly the same as in real life, giving new drivers a taste as to where the turns are and how it will affect the car.

So yea, before you bash someone, do some research bud.

We are talking very different types of racers here, even GT vs Forza are different, those looking for speed and action would buy blur regardless of when it releases, it could release now and even if GT5 was released alongside Forza, if blue os shift came out now, those speed freaks would still go for them.

Those who want the racing sim will go for GT5 or have been waiting for it long enough to buy it over anything else anyway.
