Wii Sports Resort sales reach 1.25m in US
Wii Sports Resort, Nintendo's sequel to its police-distracting killer app, has sold 1.25 million copies in the United States, according to the House of Mario. And the peripheral that makes all of Resorts one to (not so much) one controls possible, the MotionPlus accessory, has moved 2.9 million units in the region. EA's Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 swung 257,000 MotionPlus units into homes, while 1.36 million sales were standalone.
For those who haven't picked up Wii Sports Resort yet, it may be worth holding off until October 12, when Nintendo releases a bundle of the game with two MotionPlus devices for $60 – a $10 savings, worth it for those planning to play the game co-op.

Not enough. Nintendo wants MOAR!
Stevetrop @ Sep 25th 2009 9:20PM
Their going to be printing so much money this christmas season. I have nothing against nintendo but I wonder just how far they can go and how much money they can make with future wii devices.
I wouldn't be surprised if they can top a million with a Wii Hula Hoop.

I was thinking along the lines of Wii: Sex Ed. I'd buy it- and not for the info.

And somewhere, the selfish cops are crying over their job....

At least they get to play Wii Sports now....
[ArchiGamer] [Live from Omicron Persei 8] @ Sep 25th 2009 9:05PM
And within the next months the sales will reach over 5mil. It only seems possible now.
Mr Khan @ Sep 25th 2009 9:07PM
It's an excellent start for the device in the US, certainly. We need moar, though, if we want that Motion Plus exclusive Zelda game to happen.
Cody @ Sep 25th 2009 10:05PM
Oh don't you worry, Khan. That IS coming.
tuunicopapi @ Sep 27th 2009 10:19PM
actually we need more if we want more 3rd party "CORE" games. seeing as how Nintendo updated the Internet channel and the Nintendo channel (not to mention that they're seemingly starting to kick it into high gear with more "CORE" games) i'm hopeful that Nintendo is starting to get off of their lazy behinds and is AT LEAST going to work with 3rd party devs to push out more games for the Wii.

"actually we need more if we want more 3rd party "CORE" games"
Moar 'core' bullshit again?
Mr. Fister @ Sep 26th 2009 7:27PM
I can totally see everyone rushing out to get a MotionPlus once Miyamoto announces that Wii Zelda will require it. There really is no better way to move sales than to announce something like that.
SuicidalMuskrat @ Sep 25th 2009 9:12PM
Game definitely deserves it! Also, the more M+'s out in the world, the better. It may not be perfect, but it's impossible to deny that it opens up many new opportunities for compelling gameplay.
MRLN the Amazing @ Sep 25th 2009 10:01PM
I guess it will make 1.250001m in October when I buy it!
:P

I lost count the number of my attempts but I finally beat that motherfucking Lucia in table tennis, woot woot!! 7 - 5 babee!!!
baby sea tuna @ Sep 26th 2009 12:07AM
Not surprising. I bought it the week it came out and still haven't played it, but that still counts, right.
Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School) @ Sep 26th 2009 1:04AM
Do yourself a favor, take 20 minutes one evening, and play it. Frisbee is my favorite, and the wife and I love to play co-op kayaking.
Shagittarius @ Sep 26th 2009 1:29AM
And after 20 minutes you'll never need to play it again.
GameWorks (www.PrizeLive.us) @ Sep 26th 2009 1:44AM
I purchased this for my girlfriend!
She enjoys here wii alot, some reason I still wonder why it sits in the corner of the entertainment room gathering up dust like my 3 chinchillas
Paviel @ Sep 26th 2009 3:06AM
Obviously, it's because your girlfriend isn't obsessive about dusting and vacuuming every day, and neither are you. :)
GameWorks (www.PrizeLive.us) @ Sep 26th 2009 4:09AM
Why vacuum? I have hardwood flooring :)
My floor is always clean! Just the Loner Wii does not get enough attention to be cleaned I guess lol
modnite @ Sep 26th 2009 6:24AM
Awwww. Send the li'l guy my way. He won't be lonely and ignored.
Dv8thwonder @ Sep 26th 2009 6:50AM
Dust jokes in '09? Seriously.
GameWorks (www.PrizeLive.us) @ Sep 26th 2009 10:15AM
I figured it would be appropriate for the viewers lol
I have some worse jokes that I could say but I am not that type of person!

Cool game for a while but it was too easy for me. Maybe it was targeted to a younger generation..

Mr. Fister @ Sep 26th 2009 7:03PM
Trust me, many of the games are easy at first, but once you get up to those 1500+ levels in the games, it gets brutal. I've lost count of how many times I got my ass kicked in Table Tennis and Sword Dueling on the higher levels.
This is coming from someone who can beat most Contra games on their hardest difficulty setting, so no "u just sux" comments please.
