Dead Space: Extraction launch trailer prepares us for the inevitable

And, as you can see in the trailer above, they're paying the price, which makes us think two things:
- Humanity needs to prepare for the inevitable. No, we're not talking about making a bunch of Arnold Schwarzenegger clones, but we could all stand to beef up on our diplomacy skills.
- Necromorphs have an amazing work ethic. They never take breaks and wouldn't dare dream of calling in sick.

You know what else spoils the effect? The cursor right in the middle of the screen.
Dead Space was cool because there were no obviously ludic elements visible in the game. There was no HUD and Isaac's health was displayed on his back. The inclusion of ludic elements in Dead Space: Extraction seem like they would really take the player out of the experience.

I wish that if they're going to insist on putting all of these on-rails games on the Wii that they'd at least mix it up a bit. There's nothing about an on-rails game that says you can't play it with a 3rd person perspective, after all.

As if Dead Space sold gangbusters on PS360. EA rated it as one of their underperforming titles, as i recall.
That said, i'm not expecting much from this, sales-wise.

This game really looks well made. The focus on a compelling narrative is strong, the game looks great considering the hardware, and it's obvious this is a real effort and not some "lol slap the branding on shovelware" attempt.
It's so sad it will probably sell like crap. If I still owned a Wii, I'd buy it.

so many people have bashed this game before they even got their hands on it. i think its odd. i personally like arcade style shooters like this and house of the dead and time crisis etc. they look like they put a lot of work into it too as far as atmosphere and gameplay go. im gonna wait til it gets closer to xmas though and hope for a price drop since my wish list is already a bit to big

I'm definitely planning on buying either this or Resident Evil this autumn...but I haven't really made up my mind which yet. The buzz about this game is REALLY impressive, though, especially considering the initial negative reaction it got when it was first announced!
