Anyone who's ever played LittleBigPlanet knows that the experience is enriched when played with friends -- but what if one of your "friends" was not a Sackboy in the context of the game, but rather, an invisible agent of divine intervention? Think of it: He or she could effortlessly lift objects through the air, discard obstacles, bridge gaps or, depending on their temperament, instantly murder you.
Sony and Media Molecule are teaming up to incorporate this unsettling omnipotence into the customizable platformer with the launch of the PlayStation Motion Controller. You can check out a video of the motion-controlled LBP multiplayer demo (culled from Sony's Tokyo Game Show keynote) after the jump. Fans of the title might see this new functionality as a bold evolution Media Molecule's lovable game -- we see it as an unprecedented advancement in hilarious griefing technology.

well first off, you take your hardrive out when it says not too. Then you turn off your system and fill every port and opening on your system with melted cheese and duck tape it shut. After that turn your system back on, make sure that there are many flammable objects around it first.
No but seriously press either R2 or L2 for the arm you want and jerk the corresponding stick in the direction you are slapping in

Am I the only one who remembers how the older MVP Baseball games let you throw the ball around the bases indefinitely? I caught so many of my friends stealing when they'd get bored and try to kill me :P

Maybe I'm the odd one out, but I kinda like this. I mean, think about it, think about all of the possibilities of what LBP could do with the motion controller. Look at Mario Galaxy. To this day, I think that is the best example of a game that used the full potential of the Wii's motion controls. I think LBP has that same potential.

Reminds me of playing Duck Hunt on the NES, using the 2nd controller to fly the Duck around.

I though more people knew about that too...lol...weird...
I found out about it back in the day from just playing with the controller while my brother was playing...but if you played by yourself I suppose I can understand why you didn't know about it

Me and my brother actually used it the other way around, just steer the Duck in the corner so we could rack up easy high scores.

Duck Hunt isn't on WiiWare yet cause they are trying to figure out how they can make saps think they NEED a n new accessory in order to shoot the ducks...when the current Wiimote can do the job already

It's not on wiiware because most people have flat screen tv's nowadays and the guns don't work properly anymore. Bust out your zapper or super scope six and try it on a modern tv. No luck. I know the Angry Video Game Nerd ran into that in one of his videos.

I also think that motion controls would be awesome for level creating. If you think back to E3 and that demo they used with the "sandbox" idea, (those random items that were passing them by on a belt). Using a level maker where you can select the object and move it with moving it around with the controller would be a lot of fun and might make it a ton easier.

Hmm.. I can see some people making some really creative levels with this new gameplay mechanic. :)
Also, I find it kinda cute that, in Japan, PAIN is known as Mr.PAIN and Flower is known as Flowery. :P

I'd much rather play as sackboy with the regular controller than playing as...eh..."God", but I guess some people who can't really play with the regular controller (your mom) could find this fun...
I'm more exited about the motioncontroller being used in FPS games or tennis games where you use it more naturally and less like a pointer.

Yeah that would be awesome too of course but I just meant that I want the controller being used in games where you actually use the controller like you would in real life. So tennis, golf, all those "Wii Sports" kind of thing would be great but I would love to see swordplay, lightsabers, and all that stuff as well. We'll just have to see what developers do with it I guess.

Sigh... I must be the only one in the world who has ZERO interest in motion control. God forbid developers focus on such unimportant things such as story and character development rather than gimmick implementation. Guess I'm getting too old for this shit. Lol.
