Guitar Hero 5: October DLC

Activision has announced all of the forthcoming Guitar Hero 5 DLC tracks for ... Rocktober! Queens of the Stone Age, Billy Squier and Wolfmother are the featured track packs next month, along with some themed collections later in the month. Each pack will cost 440

on Xbox 360, $5.50 on PS3 and 550 Wii Points on Nintendo's console -- each track will also be sold separately for the respective console's $2 equivalent.

I could jam on some Wolfmother, and the Halloween pack looks good too. Bout time they put in some Misfits. I'll see their AstroZombies and raise them a Die Die My Darling!

I do know some of the artists, but don't know the songs... Still, looks like a good month for Guitar Hero... Unless, Harmonix releases the rumoured Queen Pack and completely tramples the whole week of GH DLC...

The "good tracks" you are looking for will be in Guitar Hero: and Guitar Hero: Smash Hits 2.

If you want "good" rock tracks, you should start by not listening to crap bands like Linkin Park and Disturbed. Seriously.

Linkin Park and Disturbed are 2 good bands. Ok, how about some Greenday, Nickelback, etc... ??

Or you could just accept that other people might like a band that you don't. It'll sting at first, but you might get used to it.

Thank you Martin. I like those bands and really enjoy there music. I just wish that Guitar Hero would get some better tracks. The tracks in the game were somewhat dissapointing, and now so is the DLC.

the only good band listed in this bunch is disturbed , nickleback is terrible greenday have gotten worse over the years and linken park is linken park

As much as I want more Nickelback, Disturbed, Green Day, and Linkin Park tracks, I still think you don't have to be a douche and dis the tracks already on it. Different people like different things. There has been some tracks from each of those artists, let's let others have a chance.

QotSA, nice to see some of their early stuff.

This whole month ranges from decent to awesome. I'll probably skip out on the Billy Squier, but everything else might get a buy.

I really wish they would start going beyond 3 packs, though. They have released, what, 2 albums? And maybe one large size pack?

It takes Rock Band only 1-2 weeks to have this many songs available! I thought Activision liked money? Why are they being so slow/ lazy?

Maby its because Harmonix has MTV to help them out. Just a thought...

But Guitar Hero does better in sales, which should be more enticing to music bands to encourage support

Normally this is where I would say quality over quantity but Rock Band has both here.

Someone really screwed that deal up. Either the sales of GH:Metallica didn't live up to expectations or Metallica wants too much in royalties for DLC.

It was announced before the release of GH:M, that the game will not feature Downloadable Content other then the Death Magnetic DLC.

If I remember correctly, there won't be GH:M DLC, outside of the eternally-reusable Death Magnetic.

Wow, thanks, I didn't know that. Still it's very unfortunate, considering Metallica's catalog. I'm sure it came down to licensing, royalties, etc. i.e. $$$ for Metallica!

Big mistake. I would have bought the whole Metallica catalog in DLC - much like I'll buy the whole Beatles catalog starting with Abbey Road next month.

Although I could do without the newer albums (sans magnetic, which is decent and is already DLC), Metallica DLC would be awesome. They have ALL BUT TWO tracks from Master of Puppert on GHM. They should have released Leper Messiah and DAMAGE INC.

And I capitalize DAMAGE INC because it was my most wanted song for GH:M. Although the game was great, it would have been amazing if it had DAMAGE INC!

I'd take Stroke, Freeze Frame, and The Beautiful people. The last one just to see my 8 year old girl sing it.

It had Death Blossom, Audience of One and Ready to Fall.

Guitar Hero has 4 Rise against songs vs 3 in Rock Band.

They both have four songs each- Guitar Hero has Re-Education (Through Labor) as a WT exportable song, and Rock Band 2 has Give It All on disc, along with the aforementioned DLC.

It must really burn Neversoft that Rock Band has all the good songs and their DLC is forever forced to suck.

The only good stuff for the entire month is the Hallow's Eve Pack. And even that's kind of meh...

I fixed your reply. I'll never understand why people can't see past their noses regarding music and as an extension, music games.

I don't own GH5 and was not going to purchase until now. QOTSA songs from the first (my favorite) album means instant purchase of the game for me. You don't have to love the content, but let's not assume it sucks because it doesn't suit you personally.

Well considering you get QOTSA on Rock Band as well, what makes you buy this game over RB?

And if you're going to drop $60 just for three tracks, well, then that's your choice. I just hope you can find more songs you like among the mess of tracks this game has to offer.

The three songs in this QotSA pack are from the first album, which he said was his favorite.
