conservative twat !!

The bold new world of control is happening . The arcade original didn't have analog control it had something unique like this so it's going back to how the arcade was in controls.

Adv2k1, you need to shut up.
A quick look on Google and it looks like the arcade monkey ball used typical arcade controls, buttons and banana shaped joystick.

That's ANALOGUE CONTROL. Not motion, digital or weight-distributed control.

I am looking forward to this game, as the balance game referenced in Wii Fit was one of my favorites.

And just when you think Sega game's controls can't be any worse... I'm sorry but you know when you need to make grooves in the track because your control input isn't good enough, you probably shouldn't be using that control device in the first place.

Yeesh..

If the iPhone game has proven anything, it's that Sega can't work with motion controls.

Not saying that it's not possible, but Sega doesn't seem to put their best foot forward. I don't trust them with this, and after this pre-view, I seriously doubt it'll end well.

The first two Monkey Ball games on GCN were great. Heck, even Banana Blitz was decent.

I can't help but be put off by the frustration that's sure to be experienced when you couple the over-sensitive Balance Board controls, with the game's unforgiving later levels.

I remember hanging out with friends until the morning hours with the original SMB as we took turns trying to beat the game's last levels. And those were ultra-hard even with the GCN's analog stick controls.

I'm sorry, but SMB will ALWAYS and FOREVER equal the infinitely more popular Super Mario Brothers original game and not Super Monkey Ball.

I would love to play this game online against 7 or so other people, with voice chat.
Sadly, I doubt that will happen.

I always found it odd that you could play a game like Metroid Prime Hunters online with a bunch of people, with voice chat, and real usernames. Then when you go to the wii, which is a home console that will always have internet access, the online is horrible.

all of you guys are complaining about it being to difficult to control are a bunch of ignorant fools

anyone who's ever played super monkey ball knows that the levels ridiculous and it takes a real mastery of the controls to be able to navigate through the levels to the end of the game...

it should be hard, I'd be displeased if it was all of the sudden "easy" because its made for the wii-fit balance board, any monkey ball pro knows how hard it is to beat the game on expert.

Yea, but did you see the levels they were playing? They were easy courses like in the begining of the first game. It shouldn't be ludicrously hard to just get your ball rolling in a straight line, the skill level required should ramp up with time. The later levels of the original game required a lot of skill, that's very different than having frustrating controls.

@Caramel
What's wrong with games being impossibly hard? You never owned an NES, did you? Grow up.

Really? Yea, I had a NES. Nothings wrong with a game being impossibly hard, but Super Monkey Ball was NOT one of those games. The great thing about that game is that anyone could jump into it but only the skilled would be able to complete the game. Grow up? If you're still living in the Nes era, look around. Games are a lot easier now. The wii has brought gaming to people like grandparents who don't want to play something impossibly hard. It's a casual console. People are going to play this game either expecting it to be easy to jump into but challenging to complete like the original game, or expecting it to be downright easy like all the other shovelware for the wii. Impossible controls with steep learning curves don't do well anymore, and especially not on nintendo consoles.

I really enjoyed the first two games on the gamecube. I tired the first one for the wii and thought it was horrible, as was the iphone version. It's a neat concept to try to use motion controls with this game, but I think it's ultimately better played with an analog stick.

Ah, nor did the first, but the motion-controlled ones for iPhone and Wii were terribly frustrating for all the wrong reasons.
