Capcom has revealed that its resident ghost and goblin slayer (and suspected never-nude) Arthur is coming to the iPhone. During a presentation at TGS (via GameWatch) the company revealed a new Ghosts 'n Goblins -- which uses a touch-based control scheme not all that different from the iPhone port of Resident Evil 4 and overlays 3D models on top of the series' 2D gameplay. GameWatch also reports the title will allow players to choose between two different heroes: Arthur and Lancelot.
The game is highly reminiscent of Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins, a PSP game that also employed 3D models while retaining the classic 2D gameplay of the originals. There's no word on price or launch date, but we'll be sure to let you know as soon as it's announced.

I can only imagine how difficult this would be on a touch screen if the difficulty is anything like the original.

@Aggie *sigh* (iPhone does have good games on it. Peggle, Spider, and Wolfenstein RPG have been fun)
I agree though we all saw how poorly Mega Man 2 transferred over. Needs more controller.

For a split second there, I was ready to condemn you for using "ph" instead of "f", but then I noticed the "i" hiding cleverly next to the #.
But I have to agree with the above post, G&G was hard enough without difficult iPhone controls.

I will agree that there are good games on iPhone...like Monopoly...peggle...scrabble....my wife has them on her phone..she uses them to kill time at work on downtime...but certain games just dont belong there....

As long as it also makes its way to PSP and XBLA/PSN, cool news. I've been hoping they'd do this, loved Ultimate GN'G.

How can we make this game even harder?
I know, lets put it on a device with a small screen and crappy touch controll.
It will be even more impossible to beat now.
Even so, i still really want an Iphone, just wish they would hurry and sign with Verizon.

That guy's thumbs are taking up about a sixth of the screen, you can barely notice that enemy in the bottom left corner.
Sigh, another reason I hate the iPhone, on screen joysticks that take up part of the screen and are barely even usable. I've tried Sonic, Resident Evil, and another platformer, they were nearly impossible to play.

Well Ben that's probably because you are a poor gamer :) I have a ton of iphone games and most of them handle quite well for having virtual buttons. Resident Evil works quite well for me as well. I have to agree that one game that plays like crap is Mega Man and G&G will end up being pretty unplayable as well I am sure.
