Gamers + Nazis = Best Friends. Jack Thompson would be proud.

Nazi, blood transfusion, PS3.

I'm not a math wiz but that doesn't seem to add up

Sex (nurses, bare torsos) and violence (Nazis, blood, surgery) - great for selling products to Males age 13-36. Also, creative advertising is about getting people to talk about your product, which is obviously happening here.

Um, Joan of Arc was a girl who led the French to victory against the English towards the end of the Hundred Years War.

I think you're looking for Florence Nightingale.

Um, there's a girl waiting on the other table waiting for a heart. If you'll notice, she's wearing the lower half of a set of armor, something very strange for a female at that time. Generally, in heart transplants, there is a donor and a recipient, not a crazy carnivorous nurse.

Also, Nightingale was active during the Crimean War, which happened in the late 1800s, a time when people had abandoned metal armor due to its impedance of movement and inability to stop bullets.

SONY please stop this crap. What is wrong with your ad department? this is terrible. I really support the PS3 and a lot of SONY's products but this just makes me sick. I think the illustrations are beautiful but the content is totally irrelevant and a big turn off. As a graphic professional graphic designer i think if you would try putting out good ads that show off what a beautiful cutting edge system the PS3 is rather than trying to shock people I think it would go a lot farther!

In terms of art, these are great ads. They both look almost like paintings, and the nurses in the first picture look an awful lot like vampires. Are there higher-resolution versions of these available?

It seems that these ads are doing what most ads aspire to do: get people to talk about the company being advertised. The fact that Sony keeps these controversial advertising tactics going suggests that they're getting some benefit from them.

piece of cake, the are supposed to depict the gamer receiving a transfusion/heart from the historical characters, which basically is saying "play our system, live the game"

suprisingly apt.

I'm still looking for the swastika. I see 2 Maltese crosses, but no swastikas.

I actually think this is really good, maybe if different characters were used it'd be a bit less easy to criticize. I guess a lot of people don't see the reason behind them and just think 'Oh my god Sony is promoting Nazis!'

Well, to be fair, I think it takes a bit too much of historical knoweledge to know exactly who is getting the blood here. And if you can't tell who it is, he's just a Nazi. I mean it's a good concept, but maybe they should have kept it to more reasonably knoweledgable historical figures.

Also, I think Joan of Arc died by burning, so maybe what she should be getting is a skin graft...

Hey, down in South America, Nazis get less of a bad rap. I've even heard of a rapper or rap producer who calls himself Victor the Nazi.

I'm confused where you're getting socialist. Typically people weren't socialist in Nazi Germany, or Communist. Nazism is its own thing. In fact Hitler blamed things on "Communist Terrorists" all the time.

Its two sides of the same coin though. Socialists try to coerce you and Fascists try to us military force or fear mongering. Kind of like Democrats and Republicans, lol.

Creepy ads. The art is good at least.
