Xbox 360 Elite Holiday 2009 Bundle shipping today

Rumored, pictured, and now shipping to retail, the 2009 edition of the Xbox 360 Elite Holiday Bundle ($300) includes a pair of family-friendly titles from last year in Lego Batman and Pure. But, well, you knew that. (Protip: Grab and stash this before October 5 to be eligible for the $50 rebate.)

Also announced today, the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller Game Pack will go on sale in November for $60. The black gamepad and bundle of XBLA titles is so close to perfect with Geometry Wars 2, Lumines Live, Bomberman Live and ... a code for Ms. Pac-Man? Make that a Pac-Man: Championship Edition token and we'd be looking at one of the best gifts you could have given this holiday -- 'cause let's face it, you (should) already own those games.

Oh, and still no official word on that popcorn box o' peripherals.

The console bundle isn't surprising, but that controller bundle, I don't have any of those XBLA games, so that's a pretty tempting offer...

I only have 51 Arcade Games, and those are in the mix aswell.

If it was a Unique Color of a controller and noth the regular Black then yeah I would get it!

its a pretty good bundle, you get two games but no increase in price.

Now does the controller pack include a rechargeable battery? If so, not bad, but not quite must-buy.

Given that I don't actually own any of the XBLA titles in the pack, and one more controller would be nice, I'm tempted to bite on that pack.

The controller would be worth it if it was a play and charge set. But I'm pretty sure its just the basic controller.

I would love if Microsoft were to release a controller/game pack with games I don't already own. Already have all those XBLA games. Otherwise, I'd be happy to pick up a new controller.

You should send them a list of the games you don't have so that they'll keep you in mind next time around.

i can't believe you guys are complaining about a rechargable battery coming with it or not i have like six of those damn things lying around so buy this pack already. controllers cost 50 new so damn. you get a controller and 4 games for 10 dollars more shutup and buy this thing.

Therefore for *me* the value would lie in the battery, not the games.

You can get all those arcade games on the ARCADE Disc that comes with the arcade console, or go to your nearest ebgames or ebay and get the disc for $1.99

So...they pulled a Wii Play with that controller bundle.

Are you serious? This isn't Boogie Bunnies we're looking at here. And if you have any business sense whatsoever, you know damn well they're not going to put the latest and greatest XBLA titles in there. It's just not happening. These titles are highly acclaimed and, in my eyes, completely acceptable.

To be fair, yes, Braid is not "the latest and greatest"

These games are probably more accessible, though.

I'd argue that Geometry Wars 2 is the absolute best game on XBLA. So many different and fun modes, arguably the best eye-popping graphics to show off an HDTV, and a much more approachable difficulty than the original. And then Shadow Complex came out... But still.

Yea Geometry Wars IS good shit....but Pacman?? Come the fuck on...

but they could have at least thrown in Castle Crashers instead of Pacman

Castle Crashers is still in the top 10 charts for sales. Would it be an awesome pack-in? Hell yeah. Is it going to happen if it still sells like hotcakes? My guess is no.

And Ms. Pac-Man may be old as hell, but it's still fun, and one ancient port paired with three modern releases isn't bad.

I like Geometry Wars 2, but I'd prefer Galaga Legions and Castle Crashers in there. Braid as well.

Why do you have five controllers?! I can understand having one handy for a spare or for some couch co-op. But FIVE?!

Well, I bought a Sam's Club bundle that came with two, then I bought a pack of two more controllers, then I bought that Halo 3 controller...I do use them in rotation to keep them from wearing out, though it hasn't worked well.

This has to be one of the most random console bundle ever. LEGO Batman and Pure... why?

I just might get the controller w/ the games and since I bought GW2 already I will give the extra code to one of my friends that doesn't have that game yet. =)

Well, you can only hope, at least. Major Nelson's blog seems to imply that only Ms. Pac-Man comes in the form of a token, leading me to believe that maybe the other three are on a disc.

I'm not on Holiday and I suspect Santa has no desire to arrive before the pagan festival of Halloween.

That controller bundle looks great but IMO they should include more meat by adding non-arcade style game like Portal or Monkey Island.
