Battlefield: Bad Company 2 'Moments' trailer is obscenely awesome
There's one major thing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 possesses that its insanely hyped competitors lack: A liberal dose of good old fashioned profanity. Of course, we haven't played said competitors, but we can't imagine another game's characters drop bombs of the "S" and "F" varieties as freely as those seen in the trailer above. Well, except for the two agents in House of the Dead: Overkill, but that's a special, special exception.
Fortunately, it looks like there's some solid action in there to accompany all the dirty words. Check out the trailer for an uncut, uncensored and unsuitable for work gameplay chunk from a multiplayer match in BBC2. The game, that is -- not the brainy British television channel.

Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?
All potty talking aside, holy crap that looks awesome, sounds awesome, and tastes awesome.
BunnySlapper @ Sep 30th 2009 7:19PM
Wow that looks awesome. Love the sound effects too.
I hope we get more than just desert maps/levels though...
BunnySlapper @ Sep 30th 2009 7:20PM
...and I see by the screenshot gallery that we do.
/slap self for not looking harder
karmaghost @ Oct 1st 2009 1:57AM
Yeah! That was awesome! Wait, what was awesome? I couldn't see a goddamned thing 'cuz there was so much dust and smoke. I dunno about you, but not being able to see shit isn't my idea of fun.
Misfit Toy @ Oct 1st 2009 6:01PM
I found Bad Company 1 to be the best sounding game I'd ever heard. Followed by Dead Space. Those sound techs at EA know what they're doing.
jivebuny @ Sep 30th 2009 7:20PM
that looks amazing!! is the first one as good as this looks?
Tez @ Sep 30th 2009 8:35PM
Not quite. But the sound design and basic gameplay is the same. It's a load of fun.
phinnvr6 @ Oct 1st 2009 12:24AM
Can't wait for Bad Company 2, gonna probably be the best multiplayer FPS ever made.
Captain Planet [Planeteer | Power of Captain Planet] @ Sep 30th 2009 7:21PM
Great googly moogly that was ridiculous.
BananaBoat @ Sep 30th 2009 7:21PM
....I'm in love
mars @ Sep 30th 2009 7:22PM
I really think that this shouldn't have caved to the release date pressure and would've really put up a good fight with modern warfare 2. it looks amazing, super polished graphics, sound (like the last one!), and i'm sure the story is just as funny as bc1
Kenoji (aka Neo Asuma) @ Oct 1st 2009 11:32PM
Actually, this game is one of the reasons why I'm not getting MW2. Still, people probably would have flocked to MW2 anyway, due to advertising, promotions, and just the name itself. Did the original Bad Company sell even close to MW1? I don't think it did.
Durden @ Sep 30th 2009 7:23PM
That was mother fuckin' awesome!
Popfrogs @ Sep 30th 2009 11:49PM
Fuckin' A right it was!
Sly (Now equipped with DS!) @ Sep 30th 2009 7:26PM
wow, it's amazing how much better looking games are getting. this is definitely on level with killzone 2, if not better because of the lighting. compare this to any game from just last year (even MGS4) and you'll be surprised too.
BananaBoat @ Sep 30th 2009 11:16PM
I had a rude awakening early this week when I popped the first Project Gotham Racing into my 360. It looks like ass compared to basically everything that has come since (GT5 Prologue, Forza, NFS:whatever, Burnout, etc).
People may not have noticed it, but games like Killzone 2 are bringing graphics that would probably be hard for most of our computers to handle. It's amazing what they are able to do with the (comparatively) old GPU's inside the consoles, and it's also amazing how far we've come since the first games that came out this gen.
Van Faulk @ Sep 30th 2009 7:27PM
I have an issue with this. I loived the first one because of all the light hearted personality of the characters. It was a pretty funny game, that just happened to have alot of shooting. They seem to be trying to make it darker and more serious this time around, in effect reduced it to nothing more than a version of COD that isn't insanely overrated.
BunnySlapper @ Sep 30th 2009 7:40PM
I think the video is from some sort of a multiplayer match - notice the "WINNING ?? 98%" title at the top and the possible team member names in the lower left?
I would wager that the personality of the 1st is still in this 2nd one for the single player campaign.
BunnySlapper @ Sep 30th 2009 7:44PM
Actually I'm certain this is a multiplayer match.
In the lower left (to the right of the map) those ARE team member names. Two of them appear to be "Epic Pimpage" and "Muttlay77", which I really doubt are NPC names.
Van Faulk @ Sep 30th 2009 7:46PM
I hadn't seen that. And I should note that ALL of EA's games are being amrketed this way. Just look at the atrociously over the top ME2 ads. Bleh.
Omega2k3 @ Oct 1st 2009 4:34AM
Wait, wait, wait...
That was MULTIPLAYER?! I can't produce words to describe how awesome that is.
JMC732 @ Sep 30th 2009 7:29PM
If it doesn't win best sound I don't know what will.
Rhamsey @ Sep 30th 2009 7:30PM
I missed the first game and grabbed it when it hit the $20 platinum hits collection, and wish I grabbed it sooner. Won't be making the same mistake twice.
speedmetaldemon @ Sep 30th 2009 7:41PM
Why do so many game journalists make such a big fucking deal out of cussing?! I mean, your killing people, god forbid you say a 'bad word'!!!! Dear lord NO!!!
Besides, I grew up in a military community and guess what? Soldiers cuss alot on their time off, guess what happens when they get shot at!
Yuccadude @ Sep 30th 2009 7:57PM
He's not bitching about it, he's complimenting it because as you said, it's how real soldiers talk, and most other games have little to no swearing, like CoD4.
Sly (Now equipped with DS!) @ Sep 30th 2009 11:22PM
well, to be fair, in COD4 it was mostly covert. most of the operations weren't straight up frontal attacks. so usually there was no need to say anything beyond what was needed for the operation.
johnnynumber5 @ Sep 30th 2009 11:56PM
Look out for the modern warfare defense force ...
Snow Leval @ Sep 30th 2009 7:36PM
Looks very similar to the first game. But the first game was great so this game will be even great....er
Lunastra78 (PSN: lunastra78) @ Sep 30th 2009 7:37PM
Must suck to be part of the "movable vegetation" design team when the other teams get to play around with guns. ;) But looks like they did a good job alright.
Smoke_me_a_Kipper @ Sep 30th 2009 7:37PM
Only game I bought for both Xbox & PS3
iFargle @ Sep 30th 2009 7:39PM
I want this game. Bad. 2010 can't come soon enough!
Premature ejaculation man @ Sep 30th 2009 7:41PM
This looks awesome. I hope I can use a child option or something to mute all the swearing.
Its something I can't stand in shooter games. Sure in real life they may swear like crazy but in games I always feel like they're trying too hard
BunnySlapper @ Sep 30th 2009 7:48PM
"I hope I can use a child option or somethign to mute all the swearing"
Says PREMATURE EJACULATION MAN.
Your standards are weird.
Obie @ Sep 30th 2009 7:53PM
Watch the BLOOOD! But uhg, those words are sooo dirty!
: /
1251 @ Sep 30th 2009 7:56PM
his point isn't that they're cussing, he just thinks it's a little forced.
Sure, if you GET shot, you're gonna cuss. But most recruits are taught to keep a level head and not act a fool. He's a got a point in that regard.
And this is coming from a guy who hated it when bloggers(they are not journalists) would trash Rico for being Rico in KZ, and all the twerps that would make posts like "too much cussing! i'm christian!" on the PS forums.
Premature ejaculation man @ Sep 30th 2009 8:05PM
BunnySlapper...What? What's a swearing censor have to do with my name? I don't get it =(
BunnySlapper @ Sep 30th 2009 8:37PM
Just kidding really, your first sentence made it sound like you had a problem with profanity...and your name is rather profane (irony!).
I know you said you don't like the swearing in FPS's because it seems forced, but it was still a little funny.
It's like someone with a name like "GodSaveTheChildren" talking about punching babies. Or me talking about how I go around hugging small woodland creatures.
Minecart @ Sep 30th 2009 9:01PM
Wait, are you saying that you find swearing more immersion-breaking than muted audio-holes in conversation?
You know real people swear all the fuckin time. It's REAL, BITCH
Hedgeson @ Sep 30th 2009 11:30PM
I just hate Rico because of the last boss battle.
SEV! HELP ME! SEV!
SEV! HELP ME!
SEV!
SEV!?
Annoying rocket launchers. There I was, all happy to survive the cloaked, rushing troopers... BOOM ROCKET TO THE FACE.
Not as bad as COD4's Pripyat level on veteran, but still...
speedmetaldemon @ Sep 30th 2009 7:41PM
Wow, that was uncool.
1251 @ Sep 30th 2009 7:52PM
gotta love dice. this game already looks better than MW2.
Obie @ Sep 30th 2009 8:00PM
The frostbite engine kicks major ass, but I stopped playing Bad Company 1 after the atrocious lag and hit detection. But, hey, maybe it's fixed in the sequel.
Keeping my eye on this one.
nintendo fanboy hater @ Oct 1st 2009 11:17AM
hit detection is only bad for snipers farther than 500m. trust me, if i had my xbox with me i would be playing bc1 today
speedmetaldemon @ Sep 30th 2009 9:28PM
Do you see Mc Elroy anywhere in my comment above? Or did you stop reading halfway through.
Special Agent Steve @ Sep 30th 2009 8:02PM
Meh.*
*As in AMEHZING.
McWilly @ Sep 30th 2009 8:06PM
Mixing cgi with gameplay isn't a good idea. Prepare to be slightly disappointed when we see untouched gameplay.
SpaceFox @ Sep 30th 2009 8:10PM
Um...that was all gameplay. It looks so good that apparently you couldn't even tell the difference.
1251 @ Sep 30th 2009 8:16PM
HA! Hater with a charlie manson avatar. That's awesome.
Mal F4cti0n @ Sep 30th 2009 8:24PM
you are an idiot. That was from a multiplayer match. There was no cgi in there at all. If you had played the first one you would recognize the similar movement and MP gameplay. It only looks slightly better than the first one too.
McWilly @ Sep 30th 2009 8:35PM
It's soo setup. Everything going on is just so conveniently shown at the right time at the right moment. It' so obviously MADE to look hectic. Not that it won't be hectic, just not this conveniently.
