When Jun Takeuchi surprised Tokyo Game Show attendees with a motion-controlled version of Resident Evil 5 (subtitled "Alternative Edition"), he also revealed some new included content, reportedly a flashback scene set in the Spencer Mansion featuring Jill Valentine.
According to an IGN translation of a Dengeki Online article, the new scene (and whatever else Alternative Edition includes) may not be constrained to Sony's platform. Dengeki says that the new content may come to 360, but in a "different format," possibly implying a DLC release on Xbox Live Marketplace.
It's great news, but keep in mind: there will only be motion control–support on one platform.

The Wii needs a nuclear reaction to generate the 1.21 gigawatts of electricity needed to run Resident Evil 5.

lol very true when considering all the shovelware. Seriously, Wii is almost up to PS2 levels of shovelware by now.
By my original point being RE5 in comparison to RE4 in regards to all that it encapsulates. Hell, Darkside Chronicles is looking like RE2 compared to RE5.

Guess what?
Wii has way more than 5 good games. Much more. You're just being ignorant if you think otherwise.
Also, Wii may not have HD graphics, but PS2 can't come anywhere near the graphical level of Wii.
You judge a system by its best games, not its worst.

I really hope they release all the additional content as DLC for the PlayStation 3 as well. I don't want the motion controls and I don't really feel like spending an additional $59.99 for the same game, even though I want to play through the new scenario(s). Why does CAPCOM insist on punishing those that purchase their games on Day 1?
I'm so glad I don't like Street Fighter, or else I'd be mad about that, too.

You know, you could always rent the game to play the "extra" content.

"then care to explain How other games like LBP, Flower will get Motion Controller patched in?"
How the hell would I know?
I didn't know why I was downvoted, in fact I didn't say I disagree with what Kombat said. I just gave another possible explanation. Maybe some games can't be patched.

I think they are referring to the flashback sequences in the game involving Chris, Jill and Wesker, when Wesker captures Jill, not the 1998 events. Too bad though.

They should rerelease RE4 again with better textures or something and a new "flashback" on the next-gens, people would buy it ;) RE5 wasn't very good or fun.

They should stop production of RE6 and remake RE0-3 and Code Veronica with next gen graphics, and include the option of playing through in fixed camera mode or over the shoulder mode as well as an unlockable version of the original version of each game. And redo 4 with better textures and higher resolution.
Yeah, that would be cool.....

I think the team is interested in trying new things, not just rehashing the glory days over and over.

There were people who LIKED Resident Evil 5?
Easily the worst of the series, including the Outbreak fiasco. Zombies riding motorcycles, big fat zombies shooting chain guns, dog spawners in crates, anonymous locations, forced co-op ... ugh. Can't we have our Survival Horror back?

Well, what I would actually like to see is something similar to what Retro Studios did with their Metroid Prime franchise in creating Metroid Prime Trilogy. If Capcom could or would release a "trilogy" of some sorts (whatever number required) with updated controls, and possibly updated graphics, then I do believe EVERY RE fan or survival horror fan for that matter would be in heaven! :0
