Atlus bringing Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition to XBLA in March '10
If you missed ACE Team's first-person melee title, and indie darling, Zeno Clash on PC earlier this year you'll have a second chance next March when the title comes to Xbox Live Arcade, courtesy of publisher Atlus. This won't be a straight port, however: "New modes –including all-new cooperative mode for the Tower Challenges –new features, and added content combine with a series of tweaks and improvements based on fan feedback to deliver the definitive version of the critically-acclaimed game." No word on if these "definitive" changes will make their way back to the original PC release.
Of course the Chile-based ACE Team is also hard at work developing the game's sequel so perhaps some of the tweaks in Ultimate Edition may reveal what's in store for the next iteration of the game. And with that, we add another title to the always growing list of Q1 2010 releases we have to play.

CH3BURASHKA @ Oct 1st 2009 1:50AM
Argentinian game brought to you by Japanese publisher? Cool story, bro.
hakunin @ Oct 1st 2009 3:05PM
Except the publisher is American.
cafecito @ Oct 1st 2009 3:46PM
Aaaand the developer is Chilean.
CH3BURASHKA @ Oct 1st 2009 5:14PM
Atlus is American? And forgive my first retardism: I read the word "Chilean" and for some reason thought it was a city in Argentina. Lul.

CaramelZappa @ Oct 1st 2009 2:09AM
Great combat system, fantastic visual style.
Jose @ Oct 1st 2009 12:14PM
Not just the style, but what they managed to do within the Half-Life 2 Source Engine was astounding. I wish I could get to the console commands, however, like Valve Source games. I just want to throw my FPS up in the corner "cl_showfps 1"
NukeAssault @ Oct 1st 2009 2:11AM

monkeyroach @ Oct 1st 2009 2:14AM
I hope they update the pc version with these features.
relaxeder @ Oct 1st 2009 12:44PM
Carlos Bordeau said on the Steam forums that the Steam version of Zeno Clash should get the updated content some time after the XBLA version comes out. Its a timed exclusive.
Wardo @ Oct 1st 2009 2:22AM
Sounds good, I've wanted to play this for a while.
Einhanderkiller @ Oct 1st 2009 2:46AM
I love this game. The art style is incredible and the melee combat is really good, too. Some of the best I've ever played. The game is short but very good. I paid $10 for it and felt I got my money's worth.
freaparn @ Oct 1st 2009 9:56AM
Ayep. Great art, interesting world, solid combat, ridiculous storyline, clunky level transitions. Always felt like the team had a much bigger story in mind but due to time/money constraints they cut the length down and utilized whatever levels they already had finished in a sort of shoehorn-type fashion.
Still, I'd be interested in a proper sequel. The potential for some really interesting story and game design was painfully evident.
Filthy Assistant @ Oct 1st 2009 3:43AM
Neat. My PC isn't really up to date so I never got it there, but I'll definitely be getting it on XBLA. The art style is really intriguing to me.
IGLAW @ Oct 1st 2009 4:03AM
This is good. Zeno Clash is definitely a game that lends itself more to gamepad-style controls than keyboard and mouse.
Churchy @ Oct 1st 2009 5:53AM
Hopefully the PC version gets all this in an update or something, I'd love to have some sort of co-op, but lack a 360 right now, otherwise I'd gladly buy it again (if for no other reason than the fact my non-hardcore gamer friends would actually pay attention if I showed it to them).
The Pie Pieper @ Oct 1st 2009 8:20AM
I love Chili, Although, I much prefer it on hotdogs then on a game.
Food based jokes aside, can't wait. I heard a sequel was in the works, is this it or are they still planning a second one?
zaglis @ Oct 1st 2009 9:58AM
So PC gamers stabed in the back?!? What a suprise.
Powerlord @ Oct 1st 2009 7:43PM
Yes, with Source games, it's usually the 360 that gets stabbed in the back.
See: TF2, L4D
Courtney @ Oct 1st 2009 10:56AM
Terrific news! I've been wanting to play this, but am more likely to play in on the 360 than my PC.
Einhanderkiller @ Oct 1st 2009 11:06AM
"No word on if these "definitive" changes will make their way back to the original PC release."
ACE Team will be releasing these updates back to the PC version eventually. They obviously need some kind of incentive for people to buy the XBLA version over the PC version, so these updates will be exclusive for "a while," probably a couple months after the release of Zeno Clash on XBLA.
