The PSP-exclusive Final Fantasy fighter is having a one-day sale at amazon.com today. The online retailer is taking 30% off the retail price, removing the much-hated "Square Enix" tax. You'll be able to pick up the UMD for $28, including free shipping (with no sales tax, for most).
Of course, because this sale is only for the UMD version, those of you that purchased a PSP Go today will be out of luck. Hopefully, Sony keeps an eye on these sales and makes PSN versions competitive during their weekly Thursday updates.

That's not all looks like Amazon is rolling back almost all of it's prices on PSP games. GoW CoO is $5.25

If something sounds too good to be true...
$5.25 + $7.99 shipping
The lowest price with free shipping is $13.71.

But that's STILL a pretty ok price considering GoW on PSN is $16. Sure it's not a steal, but a few bucks off doesn't hurt.

I like discounts too, but I'd rather not give my business to a shady vendor that hides the real price of their product in bogus shipping costs.

Man you guys are starting to sound like a broken record. If a product doesn't appeal to you then don't buy it. It's as simple as that. You act like they're trying to force flawed digital distribution on you, but you said it yourself, you've got a psp slim... so what the hell is the fuss about? They're trying their hand at appealing to a different market. It's their investment, so who cares?
The Go doesn't impress me either, but man, it's not like you don't have alternatives. Cheaper ones to boot.

There is one solution to the PSP Go download-only thing for retailers.
Why doesn't Sony provide in-store download stations with an assortment of games pre-loaded? That way people have incentive to go to the store to buy games because they don't have to wait to download a game over their internet connection. You can just hook up your Go (or Phat/Slim/Brite) to the station and install the game.
I know Sony has already done in-store demo stations, so would it be so hard to do the same only for full retail games?
