I just stopped in the Eastgate store in Cincinnati, Ohio. That one is closing, too. I spoke with the employee who said that, strangely ehough, the Milford store located just a couple of miles away was remaining open, even though it had less traffic because of a worse location and did less in sales.

Probably has to do with their lease. That's what happened when the Virgin Megastores started to close down, the ones whose leases were ending closed first.

I'd know. I worked there.

I used to work for gamecrazy last year @ 322 S HAMPTON RD, DALLAS, TX 75208 & everyday we only had about 5-10 customers buy atleast 1 or 2 games under 10 bucks. I used to work for gamestop aswell but gamecrazy was alot better than gamestop in so many ways. Gamecrazy for me was a place to hangout & have fun. Gamecrazy is not going to completely shut down their are goin to be their own independent store just like gamestop & are not going to depend on HOLLYWOOD video anymore( hollywood video kept gamecrazy alive by paying their lease ) Gamecrazy needs better marketing & better strategies..

The Fenton, MO Game Crazy/Hollywood Video location on Gravois Bluffs closed on Fri., Sept. 18. The night before at about 7 p.m. central the managers were called and told that was the last day the stores would be open and that everyone on staff had to report on the 18th to tear the store down and ship product out to other stores or they would be denied unemployment.

Um why? We are staying open, we've been shipped all the good stuff and sent out all the crap stuff.

Any store that is closing has had drastic changes in operation hours and staffing.

My manager has been nothing but awesome to me and the other employees >_>

I just visited the Kalamazoo MI store about an hour ago. They claim they were not given enough notice to prepare the store so corp was allowing them to postpone the sale until Monday. That is a load of crap. It looks more like they are packing up the good stuff and sending it to other locations to sell at regular price. Just about the only thing the had left on the shelves were Wii shovelware titles and the most recent Sonic game.

So glad that my store isn't closing down. I went in today to check, they said no, and I ended up leaving with a new Dualshock 3 for only $25 :) I love my Game Crazy!!

Don't bother going to any of the stores as there is absolutely NOTHING worth getting. I went to two different Game Crazy in my area and both had only the worst of the worst games available. The only reason is maybe to get stocking stuffers but you'd probably would rather have a lump of coal.

My god cali!?!??!? What's up with that list (O.O )

Well I've mixed feelings. I feel bad for the people who'll be losing their jobs but... I will admit I'll be checking the stores in my area (>.< )

Hm.... Maybe they'll do the circuit city thing and be an online only store? I buy nearly all my gaming stuff at other stores but it won't hurt to take a peek.

Doesn't surprise me. This place has been a crappy game store as far as I can remember, and are just a needless Gamestop clone now that they no longer sell retro stuff.

I remember when they did special orders for a small fee. I TRIED to order Final Fantasy VII as they sold it fairly cheap. Only to find that every time a copy came in for me, the employees were buying them instead to resell on eBay.

In other words, they treated their own customers like dirt.

Don't get me started on their Asylum program. A supposedly secretive membership thing that... did absolutely nothing. No extra bonus on top of your normal membership. No nothing.

And they really have no right to ask for your name, phone number and address every time you buy something, especially if paying with cash. If I have a membership, give me a card to scan, don't ask for such info up front. They don't need it.

The one on Liberty St in Springfield MA is *NOT* closing. I called them and asked them myself on Saturday.

I'm sorry, but this list is terrible and I wouldn't trust it. People are lying, as usual, because you can't trust anyone on the net hiding behind their keyboards giggling at the idiocy they spread.

18012 MATENY RD, GERMANTOWN, MD 20874

This location isn't just "closing", they are already CLOSED AND
SHUTTERED, as well as the adjacent Hollywood Video. It seriously
looks like they must have closed on the DAY the so-called
"liquidation schedule" was announced. I had outstanding pre-orders
at this location, and repeated attempts to call the customer service
number have been unsuccessful: they claim to be able to see my
preorders in the system but say they are UNABLE TO REFUND ME UNTIL
FURTHER NOTICE.

If anyone has ANY oustanding preorders from a GameCrazy location that
they are not 100% sure is staying open, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR STORE AS
SOON AS POSSIBLE; DO *NOT* ASSUME THEY WILL CALL YOU.

This is a colossal headache for me and I would hate for other people
to have to go through this as well!!

@panzerjedi: 1156 blossom hill rd in san jose closed cuz they hadn't paid the rent since may.
@grimparrot &justin n: got your backs fully on your comments. also a former employee of the company. left before it got bad. lost pretty much every store in my old district. watched my old dm screw over countless employees and managers to cover his own shortcomings. only reason he still has a job is cuz he's one of the lowest paid dm's in the company.

@youknowwhoiam: obviously you have no clue how this company operates. every time a maneger gets fired, the dm lies about what led to it, always making it worse than it really was. hell, my old dm tried to tell the district that he fired my old boss. funny, i was standing right next to my boss when she got the job offer from her new employers and called the dm to notify him that she was accepting a new job! FIRED MY ASS!!! AND I'M SO SENDING SHERIF PICTURES OF MY OLD DEAD DISTRICT!!!!!!

so i live in west chester ohio 20 miles north of cincinnati, and i drove by my local gamecrazy and it and hollywood are empty. i hadnt noticed because i hadnt been in for a month. i had 80 dollars in store credit and 4 preorders. is this retrievable. those assholes didnt call me or anything. i understand if game crazy went down as a company id be screwed, but im pretty sure its not legal to just keep my money if its a certain location. has anyone had luck getting credits transferred or paid back. sometimes it just dont pay to do business with small business, i guess ill be going to wal mart from now on, i know it wont dissapear with boarded windows overnight.

This corporation sucks, I used to work for them, I worked for htem for three weeks and never heard from the DM until our store manager was caught stealing money, which one of my coworkers was framed and fired for and then I was fired for standing up for him. Screw this company, good riddance and I'm glad my store is closing.
