PSN Thursday: All systems are PSP Go for a massive update
If a PSN Update could be a classified as a zombie invasion, consider this humble paragraph the red door keeping the horde at bay. Once you click past the break, be prepared for an update the likes of which you've never seen. It's big, it's scary and it's going to eat your brains ... in a good way.

Holy shit....
Matt @ Oct 1st 2009 9:25AM
THIS is the shit I've been talking about - NOW the PSP Go isn't quite as dumb a purchase decision if you're a first-time buyer and REALLY want a Go.
Before today, the PSN Store looked like crap with virtually no content on it.
Kudos to Sony for stepping up their game in this area - digital distribution is definately awesome, now if only they'd give incentive to spend $39.99 on a digital copy instead of buying a physical copy for two dollars more after tax.
Mr_Ahh @ Oct 1st 2009 10:17AM
the psp side of the store you mean right? sure hope so otherwise your statement is whats crap.
Hyperion45 @ Oct 1st 2009 12:37PM
Holy shit is right. I'm worried that this update will be delayed a few hours, since normally when they have massive updates they take their sweet time in giving them to us.
Matt @ Oct 1st 2009 12:44PM
Mr Ahh
Given the context of my comment, in which it mentioned the PSP, I would hope it was obvious I was reffering to the PSP side of the PSN Store :)
Anyway, good job again Sony - glad to see you can do something right once a while (that's PSP Go related).
charlie b. @ Oct 1st 2009 1:27PM
truly saddened by the lack of Lumines. that's a game worth buying twice.
jaffa @ Oct 1st 2009 5:02PM
Now all we need is PS2 games on the PSN for our PS3's!!
Now that would be some update! :)
sonicspike41 @ Oct 1st 2009 12:31AM
Holy crap that is one big update.
Also, your first Rock Band link goes back to the same article it did last week.
Dan Davis @ Oct 1st 2009 12:41AM

Fixed it. Where's my check?
sonicspike41 @ Oct 1st 2009 12:45AM
I set it down somewhere on the SS Ishimura before I quit my job there. If you can find it, you can keep it.
ClarkyCat @ Oct 1st 2009 5:55AM
The US*G* Ishimura!
wallywallas @ Oct 1st 2009 12:36AM
Whoa..... just, whoa.
Sega Genesis Collection on PSP? Awesome!Need for Speed: Shift and Brutal Legend demo? Awesome!
Just.... awesome! Hardcore update! Nice job Sony!
Zuka_Ninja @ Oct 1st 2009 12:36AM
$6.99 for Fieldrunners???
Justin F @ Oct 1st 2009 12:36AM
No MGS:Portable Ops? Wow, I can't find that game anywhere..
johnnynumber5 @ Oct 1st 2009 12:46AM
Ha - I found a copy in a gamestop used ... not that portable ops+ that you know ...removed content! Crazy a game called Portable Ops Plus removed stuff. Anyway, want to buy it? Hit me up on PSN. I don't even play the damn thing anymore. The disc is a little separated from the casing (was when I bought it) but it works perfectly. Just a thought ... Sell it for $20
[ArchiGamer] [Soon to be a major religion] @ Oct 1st 2009 12:36AM
If only Final Fantasy Tactics(PSP Version) and Crisis Core were there, being as they are the only titles I own(yeah, yeah, yeah I know), my decision to buy the Go would change greatly. Also Joan D'Arc as I still purchase that yet. Why I don't know.
[ArchiGamer] [Soon to be a major religion] @ Oct 1st 2009 12:39AM
*haven't
Garrett @ Oct 1st 2009 12:49AM
Jeanne D'Arc has been available for a while.
[ArchiGamer] [Soon to be a major religion] @ Oct 1st 2009 12:50AM
Via PSN?
Sheppy (of the Fidlious Clan of Wong) @ Oct 1st 2009 12:58AM
Jeanne D'Arc's been on PSN for $22.99 since 8/20/2008
But if you're in the market for an RPG, might I suggest the highly underrated Brave Story: A Traveler's Tale for $14.99?
Checked and Crisis Core and FFTactics are missing. Seems like Square is misisng the boat in general. As an example, how much work would the Final Fantasy remake REALLY take? No Valkerye Profile on there either...
johnnynumber5 @ Oct 1st 2009 1:06AM
Jeanne D'Arc is without a doubt my favorite RPG. It's an SRPG but a damn good (think valkyria Chronicles or FF Tactics but better) one ... If I could I would HIGHLY suggest Crimson Gem Saga on the PSP if you want a good RPG fix on the psp.
Jeanne D'Arc is one of my favorites of all time. Everyone should experience it eventually. That game got me to try out the import version of White Knight Chronicles and oh man that game is so ill. Level-5 has become one of my favorite developers. That Studio Ghibli game on the DS is going to be awesome.
[ArchiGamer] [Soon to be a major religion] @ Oct 1st 2009 1:06AM
Wow, I really miss that one.
Thanks for the info.
LeChuck @ Oct 1st 2009 1:11AM
Jeanna D'Arc is already on PSN.
dgknight500 @ Oct 1st 2009 1:19AM
Squeenix seriously missed the memo... Weird because all their games are on the Japanese PSN...
gmoya90 @ Oct 1st 2009 3:09AM
sqare enix should have give us FF8 and legend of mana!! >.
John Z @ Oct 1st 2009 7:27AM
F$#@ YES GET BRAVE STORY.
I mean, that is a game that needs more attention and love. Also, the book was very good (should be in paperback soon).
charlie b. @ Oct 1st 2009 12:17PM
currently waiting on baited breath for FF9.
Sly (Now equipped with DS!) @ Oct 1st 2009 5:32PM
yeah, jeanne d'arc is my favorite PSP game of all time. it's THE only single player game i've ever replayed completely more than three times.
Lekko @ Oct 1st 2009 12:39AM
"Sony Coputer Entertainment America"
I love my Sony Coputers
Markez @ Oct 1st 2009 12:45AM
I wish I could remember who had this bit that was like 'dey say a coputer, can do my job better than i can damn well do it'
I want to say it's off Roll with the New from Chris Rock but I'm not sure.
sonicspike41 @ Oct 1st 2009 12:46AM
Haha, good catch, I never even noticed that one.
TM @ Oct 1st 2009 12:40AM
HOLY SHIT
Muhammad-Oli @ Oct 1st 2009 12:41AM
Wow, Tetris isn't cheap. Considering I can get it on my phone for cheap, or illegally, free.
Waunel @ Oct 1st 2009 12:41AM
The king of fighters XIII themes?
Tom Kalinske, CEO. @ Oct 1st 2009 12:49AM
Of course. It's coming out this month along with Street Fighter 6 and Virtua Fighter 7.
You hadn't heard?
PSN: John-Paul-Jones @ Oct 1st 2009 12:42AM
Say word... how did Media Molecule acquire the Watchmen license? I'm surprised the costumes made their way to LittleBigPlanet, considering how dark the characters and the comics are
johnnynumber5 @ Oct 1st 2009 1:09AM
http://splashpage.mtv.com/2009/09/28/watchmen-character-skins-for-little-big-planet-debut-online/
You can see the costumes and read about them at that link.
Jesus (PSN: Luttdawg) @ Oct 1st 2009 3:38AM
Oh man, I have been doing the whole burger avatar thing way longer than you have...Just kidding man, add me on PSN if you wish. :)
Sly (Now equipped with DS!) @ Oct 1st 2009 5:36PM
the costumes are perfect! MM is definitely getting better at making licensed costumes. the resistance one didn't really look like a chimera, but these costumes and the infamous one are perfect.
tmacairjordan87 @ Oct 1st 2009 12:42AM
Ah so the Go's finally out. Let the trainwreck commence!
Sheppy (of the Fidlious Clan of Wong) @ Oct 1st 2009 12:51AM
Trainwreck? Fucks sake man, LOOK at that list. Prinny for $10 is worth the update alone... goddam, I'm about to spend ~$50 on PSN tomorrow....
tmacairjordan87 @ Oct 1st 2009 12:52AM
Yeah I'd get some too if I kept my psp, but you don't need a Go to get any of those...thankfully.
[ArchiGamer] [Soon to be a major religion] @ Oct 1st 2009 12:53AM
Oh, I love trainwrecks!!
johnnynumber5 @ Oct 1st 2009 12:56AM
Yup some serious deals to be had on that thAr list. I bought Prinny at full price at launch and never regretted that purchase. Awesome game ... frustratingly hard and very cheap but fun none-the-less.
johnnynumber5 @ Oct 1st 2009 1:00AM
That's the point - you don't need a GO to get those games. So, how is this much content on the heels of the go a train wreck? Sold your PSP? For shame. Lots of awesome games dropping before Christmas. I'm getting Gran Turismo tomorrow ... Persona, Motorstorm, Assassins Creed and Little Big Planet will also get consideration this year.
tmacairjordan87 @ Oct 1st 2009 1:07AM
The trainwreck is the Go, not the update.
johnnynumber5 @ Oct 1st 2009 1:10AM
How is it going to be a train wreck? You mean sales wise?
tmacairjordan87 @ Oct 1st 2009 1:17AM
Yeah, at least if people are smart it will. There's no reason at all to pay that much for a Go.
CheeziePotato (PSN: talic10 | XBL: InfiniteMovie) @ Oct 1st 2009 1:39AM
The PSPgo is like the CDi or Sega CD (or 32X). Taking a good console, make a new version, fuck it up, and throw a huge price tag on it.
eNrique @ Oct 1st 2009 1:40AM
So you think that, because you are not buying a PSP Go its sales are going to be a trainwreck?
And it also depends if your definition of "smart" is your "intelligence level".
