Super Street Fighter IV introduces Dee Jay, Capcom not ruling out arcade release
The video isn't the only update on the Super Street Fighter IV front, as the game's official blog (translation) mentions Capcom is considering an arcade update. Producer Natsuki Aizawa says while Capcom is looking at the PS3 and Xbox 360 as the main platforms for the expansion, there's still "a chance" it'll come to arcades. "One thing I absolutely want to get across is, we most definitely haven't given up on the arcade Street Fighter IV," she says. We're sure that matters to most Japanese gamers. As for America, we all know arcades are more elusive than the Great Sasquatch.

The new chic looks a little psychotic. I approve.
DeepFriedSushi @ Oct 1st 2009 6:17PM
so they brought every character from SSF2, but they still have 5 characters left to add. (they announced 8, Juri, Deejay, T.hawk, so far)
I feel like they might bring characters from alpha or sf3 or rival schools (lol not).
My predictions being: Elena, Ibuki, and Rainbow Mika.

A crazy chic that licks her lips, likes to fight and can show some flesh?
Nerds everywhere just came.

http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2009/sep/24/rumors-more-street-fighter-4-upgrade-notes/
according to the leaked notes here the new chars are
Dee Jay, T. Hawk, Dudley, Ibuki, Makoto, Adon, Cody and Guy.
* Hakan - An Arabic grappler obsessed with oil.
* Juri - Evil Asian girl fighter working for Seth.
TypeF @ Oct 2nd 2009 12:37AM
Indeed the characters are great but for the price they'll be charging not really lol. I'd rather pay a DLC price than a full game price. It's unfair for those that already own a SFIV version and needs to pay another full price for 8 extra char and new online content that can be added as DLC for maybe 25$?
TypeF @ Oct 2nd 2009 12:41AM
i have a feeling juri is not the only new character i'm pretty sure there'll be at least 2-3 and the rest will be from SF3 my guess are "Alex-Makoto-Ibuki-Yun"
Batzarro @ Oct 2nd 2009 6:25AM
"* Hakan - An Arabic grappler obsessed with oil."
Now, this is Street Fighter we're talking about, but there's something about that sentence that makes me uneasy...
robert @ Oct 2nd 2009 10:53AM
I think the "new game" idea is stupid and it could easily be some DLC but I still won't be able to resist a day-1 purchase.
soomi @ Oct 1st 2009 6:09PM
wow this is just getting better and better. i can't wait to see the final list of the new characters but juri is looking really cool indeed.
Ghen @ Oct 2nd 2009 9:15AM
Yeah she is, right up my fighting style. this is going to be great :)
RKN @ Oct 1st 2009 6:09PM
WTF, you'll sooner release it for arcades than the PC Capcom? : 0
HeXeN {KevinConroyDefeatsBatman} @ Oct 1st 2009 6:50PM
Just be grateful you got the game at all.
RKN @ Oct 1st 2009 7:25PM
That shouldn't be good enough. : (
Damn you PC pirates!
Peter R. @ Oct 2nd 2009 9:23AM
WTF?! Street Fighter on the PC?! That just feels so wrong somehow, I hope your playing with a Xbox 360 controller or something ( we wouldn't want to further dull the SF experience with keyboard play, right?). I don't know where you got your logic from, but Street Fighter belongs in the arcades. Heck, if it wasn't for the fact that arcades are practically dead here in the USA, I'd still be going to them on the weekend rocking a pocketful of quarters. There's something about meeting a challenger face to face, then watching his/her expression change when you whoop their ass, it just feels right.
Gun Barrier @ Oct 1st 2009 6:12PM
WOa, the chars look great! Juri looks awsome too.
Seanross @ Oct 1st 2009 6:12PM
Juri can whoop my ass anyday...
thatrat @ Oct 1st 2009 6:14PM
Shame about the arcades. I so want to take my oldest to an arcade, but any that are worth going to at all are very far away. Anything nearby is laughable. Just want her to experience the fun that was an arcade.
kentuckyfried @ Oct 1st 2009 6:16PM
Arcades are dead, sad to say. They've been dead since I left high school...which was a long time ago.
I miss 'em.
xbox420king @ Oct 1st 2009 6:16PM
So are the new characters going to be available via DLC?
KingOfHearts @ Oct 1st 2009 11:58PM
Nope. It's gonna be on a seperate disk, but it will be sold as the price of an expansion, not a whole new game.
HSOL @ Oct 1st 2009 6:19PM
Can't wait for this.
Hopefully they won't renege on their promise not to have it full priced unlike that one recently released game I won't mention.
bongoes the Black Lantern @ Oct 1st 2009 6:21PM
"Capcom not ruling out arcade release"
In Japan.
webkatt @ Oct 1st 2009 6:22PM
it's gonna be 40 usd most likely. and the bonus for current owners is probably gonna be ONE free costume pack (3 characters).
frzamonkey @ Oct 1st 2009 6:23PM
As someone who runs an arcade, it is hard to justify paying 9 grand for the arcade version of a game that you can currently have at your house for 60 bucks. A big part of an arcade's draw was the exclusivity of the titles. MVC2, the final fight games, light gun shooters like time crisis or house of thedead, even pacman and galaga for that matter used to be a experience that could not be duplicated at home. Add to that the fact that a SF4 cabinet might take 6 months to a year to pay for itself, when I can buy a game like "Deal or No Deal" or "big Bass Wheel" that costs a comparable amount but can pay for itself in a few weeks.
It sucks, but until the manufacturers find ways to bring costs WAY down or release exclusive titles to arcades that draw crowds, it is gonna be hard to find things like a SSF4 or Beatmania IIDX cabinet.
Spartan [Planeteer | Power of Sunshine & Lollipops] @ Oct 1st 2009 6:35PM
I thought the draw of the arcade was the look on people's faces when you walked up to the machine they were on, put your money in, and proceeded to kick ass and take names.
breaklaw @ Oct 2nd 2009 3:48PM
Wow Someone who runs an arcade. I was about to post a sarcastic comment like "what's an arcade" What city are you in? We need more like you out there buddy.
Yan @ Oct 1st 2009 6:28PM
I hope you don't have a problem with me making you my main, Juri...
::gets pummeled:: IT FEELS SO GOOD
Kevin @ Oct 1st 2009 6:32PM
Why did Capcom release an incomplete game? These characters should have been included when SF4 came out.
/troll
Christian @ Oct 1st 2009 7:08PM
You haven't played a Street Fighter in the last ten years, have you?
I'd stick to complaining about the on-disk costumes we pay for.
golobulus @ Oct 1st 2009 7:13PM
so we can make even more money off dlc. check out our interview with GT... we believe we already gave you the "meat and potatoes." now it's time for the gravy.
Hakaisou @ Oct 1st 2009 11:31PM
Apart from SFI, You show me one Street Fighter game, just ONE Street Fighter game that was "complete" on it's first iteration at I'll punch myself in the nuts. SF is practically built on multiple refining iterations and damn if I don't think that's a good thing. My only hope with this is that they bring back parrying, preferably in the form of a setting at character selection to choose between counters and parries.

and about pcs? ¬¬
vtnwesley @ Oct 1st 2009 7:10PM
I've greatly enjoyed SF4 on the PC. Bought it on Steam for a reasonable $20! I'll gladly buy Super SF4 as well, if they release it for PC.
Mr. Manly ESC Mcbeefington Ferguson The Second @ Oct 1st 2009 7:56PM
T.hawk is bringing cheapness back because other fighters don't know how to be cheap.
(Seriosuly T.Hawk 40% Stun combo plus 90% combo is "friggin unbelieveable".)
Dee Jay,Yes!
Dee Jay and Fei Long are my favorite SFII characters.

Oh noes! You have to buy one game a year! How will you ever live?
chronomaster.k @ Oct 2nd 2009 11:45AM
Those Madden fellows sure seem to handle the prospect pretty well, and they're charged $60 every year. We're getting SSFIV for $20-$40, and SFIV is still technically relevant in its own right. Sounds like a good deal for a yearly thing.
aoday91 @ Oct 1st 2009 8:32PM
Im gonna get this game for the pc just to have all those awsome mods i saw on youtube
Mal F4cti0n @ Oct 1st 2009 9:06PM

Stop releasing the same game six different ways! All that does is piss off your true fans who buy the first release. Gosh....

kentuckyfried @ Oct 1st 2009 10:06PM
Seriously...can't they just go and work on a completely kick-ass successor to Street Figher Ex Plus Alpha?
Z (uburi) @ Oct 2nd 2009 3:56AM
I thought that's what this was, with the 3D models in 2D gameplay!
I am waiting for a sequel to 3, myself.

If the rumors that Dudely and Makoto are two of the other unrevealed fighters I'd be pretty happy about that. Doubtful I'd pick up the game (maybe next years version instead), but I'd still be happy.
