The official Battlefield 1943 Twitter account has tw@ted that the EA Store is ready to take pre-orders for the PC version of the game. The three-map (four, if you count the aerial-centric Coral Sea) battle fiesta is expected sometime in 2010, along with Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (and possibly Battlefield 3).
It'll certainly be interesting to see if the PC FPS demographic embraces the more casual-oriented Battlefield 1943 in the droves that brought the console version to its knees -- at this point, we'd be happy if the development of the PC version simply brought new maps for all.

@Mecha
Because his ass is so huge it would take the entire Joystiq staff working together at once to ban it.

But if they do that, they they won't be able to get you to pay $10 extra for the service that lets you re-download the game 6 months after your purchase instead of 2!

Am looking forward to this.
And BC2, surprisingly.
And only because they're coming to PC.

It's a good game and probably worth the money but I got over it pretty quick. New maps would have held my attention longer but DICE focusing on BC2 is 100% acceptable.

Yeah I can live without it. Found it funny though to see half the people on my friendslist playing it the day it came out, and now I don't see anyone playing it anymore.
BC (One I personally enjoy far more then 1943, and bought for 5 dollars more) however is still being played by alot of people on my friendslist.

It's not just the 4 maps, it's limited amounts of everything. It's watered-down Battlefield.

For some reason, Engadget won't let me reply to you so I have to here Cheesus Chrust.
I didn't say anything offensive so chill out to your reply to me on Engadget.
The PS3 of GTA runs at a slightly lower resolution than the 360. And I have had no bugs with my PC version whatsoever.
I have played all three versions and the PS3 version actually broke the Blu-Ray drive on my fucking PS3. I bought a PS3 over the 360 because I was afraid of the RROD yet my PS3 died after 2 weeks, and my 360 broke after a year.
PC version is by far the best, I wish Rockstar would give it the episodes since it is a Games for Windows LIVE title.
I prefer the PS3 controller over the 360 controller but have no issues playing with a keyboard and mouse, I can aim far better with it than using auto-aim, headshots every time!
