EA opens pre-orders for Battlefield 1943 PC
The official Battlefield 1943 Twitter account has tw@ted that the EA Store is ready to take pre-orders for the PC version of the game. The three-map (four, if you count the aerial-centric Coral Sea) battle fiesta is expected sometime in 2010, along with Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (and possibly Battlefield 3).
It'll certainly be interesting to see if the PC FPS demographic embraces the more casual-oriented Battlefield 1943 in the droves that brought the console version to its knees -- at this point, we'd be happy if the development of the PC version simply brought new maps for all.

His ass hasn't been banned yet, how?
Tom Kalinske, CEO. @ Oct 2nd 2009 7:48PM
Bobby, I'd like to say one thing.
Welcome To The Next Level
Idiot.
Tom Kalinske, CEO. @ Oct 2nd 2009 7:50PM
@Mecha
Because his ass is so huge it would take the entire Joystiq staff working together at once to ban it.
Tom Kalinske, CEO. @ Oct 2nd 2009 7:50PM
No, actually. Even Peter Moore couldn't do what I did, you prick.
Einhanderkiller @ Oct 2nd 2009 7:51PM
Put it on Steam, EA.
Puffles @ Oct 3rd 2009 1:08AM
But if they do that, they they won't be able to get you to pay $10 extra for the service that lets you re-download the game 6 months after your purchase instead of 2!
Autobot @ Oct 2nd 2009 7:54PM
Tom Kalinske > Chuck Norris
Bobby Kotick = Badger.
Bobby, Tom is going to kick your fucking ass.
Josh @ Oct 2nd 2009 7:57PM
Am looking forward to this.
And BC2, surprisingly.
And only because they're coming to PC.
Jose @ Oct 2nd 2009 8:11PM
Yep, and just like that I'm $15 poorer.
Tom Kalinske, CEO. @ Oct 2nd 2009 7:58PM
Oh, poor Bobby. Can't say I didn't see that coming.
Hey, Peter! Let's celebrate!
iHavepants {SteamPSN: Arkanti} @ Oct 2nd 2009 8:03PM
Too late, already gotten tired of it on PSN.
Durden @ Oct 2nd 2009 8:04PM
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Bobby Kotick, the reprised @ Oct 2nd 2009 8:08PM
I'm back!!!
Tom Kalinske, CEO. @ Oct 2nd 2009 8:10PM
And I would expect a ban within ten minutes.
RKN @ Oct 2nd 2009 9:08PM
A new guise of Sprinkles?
Durden @ Oct 2nd 2009 8:10PM
It's a good game and probably worth the money but I got over it pretty quick. New maps would have held my attention longer but DICE focusing on BC2 is 100% acceptable.
WiNG [XBL&Steam: WiNGSPANTT] from lifeinagame.com @ Oct 2nd 2009 8:29PM
Bought it on XBL, would buy again.
Cheesus Crust @ Oct 2nd 2009 8:35PM
PWNED NOOB!
MystileArmor @ Oct 2nd 2009 8:36PM
Yeah I can live without it. Found it funny though to see half the people on my friendslist playing it the day it came out, and now I don't see anyone playing it anymore.
BC (One I personally enjoy far more then 1943, and bought for 5 dollars more) however is still being played by alot of people on my friendslist.
bumblo @ Oct 2nd 2009 9:05PM
What's your PSN? I play BC a lot, my PSN is bumblo.
MystileArmor @ Oct 2nd 2009 9:10PM
Sorry to disappoint but I play it on the X360
finnith @ Oct 2nd 2009 9:27PM
The four maps thing kind of limits the fun after a while, doesn't it?
MystileArmor @ Oct 2nd 2009 11:09PM
It's not just the 4 maps, it's limited amounts of everything. It's watered-down Battlefield.
-Z- @ Oct 2nd 2009 9:22PM
Twatted? really? I like that there's a phrase for twitter that sounds like you were slapped with a vagina...
7egend @ Oct 2nd 2009 10:23PM
Cut him some slack. He just wants to be one of the Jonas brothers.
Mr. Manly ESC Mcbeefington Ferguson The Second @ Oct 2nd 2009 9:33PM
You know this guyis joking right?
The whole joke is look "I am Bobby Kotick you guys suck ololol, our crappy games rule rock band is smalltime" and then we reply you suck bobby kotick and he then would act like if he worked for activision.
It was kind of funny at first in all activision related threads but I guess he felt in love with his alter ego and become unbearable.
RKN @ Oct 2nd 2009 9:33PM
For some reason, Engadget won't let me reply to you so I have to here Cheesus Chrust.
I didn't say anything offensive so chill out to your reply to me on Engadget.
The PS3 of GTA runs at a slightly lower resolution than the 360. And I have had no bugs with my PC version whatsoever.
I have played all three versions and the PS3 version actually broke the Blu-Ray drive on my fucking PS3. I bought a PS3 over the 360 because I was afraid of the RROD yet my PS3 died after 2 weeks, and my 360 broke after a year.
PC version is by far the best, I wish Rockstar would give it the episodes since it is a Games for Windows LIVE title.
I prefer the PS3 controller over the 360 controller but have no issues playing with a keyboard and mouse, I can aim far better with it than using auto-aim, headshots every time!

Drop it to 10 or add new content.
Mike @ Oct 3rd 2009 7:09PM
I've got BF1942 thanks though EA...
The only reason I would buy 43 for PC is its stunning sound :(
monkeyroach @ Oct 3rd 2009 11:11PM
wont buy it unless its on a real digital distribution, ea downloader doesn't count.
