What happens when you put professional mixed martial arts fighter Jason "Mayhem" Miller in a room with a bunch of EA Sports devs who are working on an MMA game, then reveal to Mr. Mayhem that his virtual representation's stats are pretty terrible? Hilarity ensues. Unless you're Rob Hydar, lead developer on the title. In that case, replace "hilarity" with "pure, unadulterated terror."
Watch the video after the jump to witness the proceedings unfold in a very NSFW manner. We realize that not everyone will enjoy the violence depicted in the clip -- but we think we can all rally behind that awesome ball pit/conference table.

These were originally developed by different guys
Burnout series, Acclaim: Picked up by EA after Acclaim fell
Command and Conquer series, Westwood: Picked up by EA after Westwood fell
The Sims, developed by Maxis Published by EA only recently taken over by EA for development
Not to say that EA doesn't make some good games or anything, but if you're going to put up a list, at least get the list right.

Westwood wasn't independent of EA since 1998, any game released since then is an EA game. Yes Westwood created Red Alert 2 but they were EA then.
Same goes for Maxis, The Sims were created under Maxis but they were owned by EA at the time.
Its the same situation with Naughty Dog and Sony, Naughty Dog use to be independent, Sony acquired them and let them keep the name. They are still a Sony owned studio but go by their own name.
Never understood the EA hate, Yeah they screwed up alot in the past but they also put out a lot of quality titles in the last 10 years.

EA is a publisher... that pretty much guarantees most of their stuff is developed by different guys.

@naota He did get the list right, EA is a publisher, that's what they do. They publish games developed by other people.

EA also published Left 4 Dead (but EA doesn't own Valve, so L4D2 coming out so soon has nothing to do with EA) and the upcoming Brutal Legend. And the Rock Band series. But, yes, they're a publisher, not a developer, so the studio in question is Tiburon, who makes Madden, NCAA Football, and Tiger Woods. Don't be hatin' on Tiger Woods.
p.s. Rob Hydar is a pirate

I'm confused as to why there is a ball pit in the center of the conference table.
Other than that, lol.

If this game does really well, that ball pit will be filled with strippers. It's a usual production tactic these days to really get the potential out of developers.

I still think that was real. I don't buy that just joking bullhonkey.

If he was really joking he had me fooled. I think he was serious and caught himself when he remembered he was on camera. I hope they make a good game though. THQ may have UFC but they are not the only fighting league on the block. I hope this drives some serious competition and makes the production teams push for the best possible quality in both franchises.

All of these things are fake. It really takes the whimsy out when you realize it, but then you start to think of them more like a college humor skit, and it becomes alright again.

Got to love how the use the Xbox 360 to demo the game.
Can't wait to talk to Jason Ellis about this on his show.

Though if you look there is a PS3 running in the background on the shelf.

Those days are over guy. Ps3 finally got some hair on it's ass. Both are excellent consoles, and all benefit, either directly or indirectly, from both being on the market.

Viral marketing? Seemed scripted, like the laughing seemed incredibly fake.

This would of been funnier if in the first 15-20seconds you couldn't tell it was staged by the 2 dickheads that leave the room commenting on whats about to happen.
Otherwise highly amusing.

WOULD'VE
Never, EVER use "would of" on the internets. You can write it on your basement wall in blood all you want, just nowhere else.
