For those of you holding fast to the hope that you'll get your hands on Square Enix's next MMO, Final Fantasy XIV, before the game's eventual release, it appears as though you'll need to get your hands on a Windows PC first. In a recent interview with Game Watch, FFXIV director Hiromichi Tanaka said the game's beta release will be on PC only.
Starting with a closed population of 10,000 people and eventually opening up to the public, the beta could be running at full capacity by as early as Summer 2010, according to Tanaka. Hopefully, by that point we'll be playing Final Fantasy XIII -- in English -- and no longer cracking jokes about FFXIV releasing before XIII ... Hopefully.

If you're using a keyboard/mouse to play any game, why not just get a computer? I've never had a disk read error, overheating problems, or anything like that, plus the visuals are better. That, and, you know, EVERY game has keyboard/mouse support :P.

Its interesting to see how Final Fantasy 11 is far more popular on the PC than the PS2 and Xbox 360 versions and yet the PC has seen no more of the single-player Final Fantasy games.
Personally, I don't care for MMORGS at all, never played one, happy with single-player games so I must be in the minority hoping more FF games will come to the PC. Then again, speaking as a fanboy, I'd like all games to come to the PC or at least have an emulator for them. : )

Sweet, I too am going to be playing it on PC only as well. Of course I do plan on playing this when it gets released on PS3 and PC. Options are always nice.

Oh yea seriously. I have a couple friends that play FFXI on PC and some on PS2. Is this going to be on 360 as well? So there'd be the choice of PS3, 360, and PC?
