Joystiq Podcast 111 - Get into my Blast Corps edition
Things are a little different this week: Justin's on his way to Honduras (true story!) and Ludwig is at a South African gaming expo (no, seriously) so Chris is joined by Joystiq's own Griffin McElroy and Dave Hinkle for what's sure to be remembered as the Most Important Joystiq Podcast Ever. Why? Because we talk about major flaws affecting every major gaming platform, Billy Ocean, Blast Corps, and getting served.
Big thanks to podcast art perennial Alan Black for this week's pic. You all remember what to do whenever anybody says the secret word, right?

So wait, are we talking going to a restaurant, or 2004 dance "comedy" turned internet meme You Got Served?
Also, weekend confirmed and all that.
CH3BURASHKA @ Oct 2nd 2009 5:49PM
Yee-haw!
Jose @ Oct 2nd 2009 5:54PM
Ludwig and Chris make excellent Lawrence Fishburn and Phil Hartman, respectively.
Levi @ Oct 2nd 2009 5:58PM

Taylor @ Oct 2nd 2009 6:04PM
The mention of Blast Corps makes me sad. =(

NukeAssault @ Oct 2nd 2009 6:40PM
Blast Corps was awesome! But i go stuck up to a point... never got past it.
Levi @ Oct 2nd 2009 6:55PM
I don't listen to the podcadsts, listening to music right now... But if this one had some super nifty exclusive news about a new Blast Corps, I'd eBay it right now and dig up my N64 out of excitement. That was a great game and totally deserves an XBLA/PSN/Steam revisit.
The Piping Pie Pieper @ Oct 2nd 2009 6:22PM
Here you go Justin, I took it all the way.

that photoshop is genuinely terrifying. I don't think I'll ever be able to watch Pee Wee's Playhouse without having nightmares again
Brendan H @ Oct 2nd 2009 6:47PM
You were able to watch without having nightmares BEFORE?
Brendan H @ Oct 2nd 2009 6:46PM
Who is this Griffin McElroy you speak of...could he be related to one Justin McElroy? Is this nepotism run awry? This will not stand!
bluesky_v2.01 @ Oct 2nd 2009 10:17PM
Indeed, they are related. For more info, check out the last weeks podcast.
Travis @ Oct 2nd 2009 7:20PM
Mecca Lecca High, Mecca Lecca Chiney ho
Mr Numeros @ Oct 2nd 2009 8:56PM
Billy Ocean: Yes
Blast Corps: No
Played that ish about 4 years ago while working my way through the back catalogue. Lack of a checkpoint system and poor framerate kills it. Take off those rose-tinted glasses Dave!
Also, I am NOT drinking any f_ckin merlot!
Action-Alan (BWF) @ Oct 2nd 2009 11:00PM
I'm suprised no one has mentioned the picture of Dead Space Girl I hid in this week's podcast art. One internetz to whoever finds her first.
CH3BURASHKA @ Oct 2nd 2009 11:19PM
In Justin's bowtie. I will take one internetz in cash, thank you.
Action-Alan (BWF) @ Oct 3rd 2009 1:55AM
A winner is you!
CH3BURASHKA @ Oct 2nd 2009 11:18PM
Please bring back the techno-WRUP. It's much more awesomer than the current one.
DSOTO @ Oct 3rd 2009 9:05AM
You guys crack me up
The Pie Pieper @ Oct 4th 2009 12:37AM
Thanks Joystiq, your B-B-Brush with Fame has changed my life.
Mischa @ Oct 4th 2009 7:59AM
I think not having Justin to edit this one made it seem a little sloppy to me. All the swears were missing for example.
JT_yoink @ Oct 5th 2009 11:43PM
hahaha, thanks for delivering my brother's message. Tell him that I will focus attack dash cancel his shoryuken and flash kick him in the nuts.
colt4by5 @ Oct 6th 2009 3:19PM
More Griffin and Dave please. The Billy Ocean Discovery Cruise Line bit was classic.
juliusdeane (Jarret) @ Oct 7th 2009 8:18PM
Are you guys trying to make the JPAG podcast look better?
Cam @ Oct 8th 2009 1:36AM
VAGRANT STORY YES!!!!
Doug @ Oct 9th 2009 5:42PM
Yeah, I'm a week late. Sorry. But man, this was an excellent show. This is the second time i've heard Mr. Hinkle on the podcast recently, and he's good. Funny AND knowledgeable. Besides, you can't go wrong with Billy Ocean. I always like hearing Griffin on the podcast. His laugh makes me laugh. But my highest praise goes to the bossman, (not the Big Bossman of WWE fame) Chris Grant. Chris, I don't know if you had a few beers in you or what, but you seemed much more relaxed on this episode. Several really funny lines, you kept the show moving, and overall it was a pleasure listening to you. Keep up the good work guys!
