There is a clue in the title of the article......
marauder30 (psn: darthmilasmentor, xbl: huskerblackshrt) @ Oct 2nd 2009 1:58PM
I think he meant because we already got a release date, and that's come to pass.
mahouneko @ Oct 2nd 2009 4:00PM
Just be glad that it's Trine-ally coming out for the PSN. :D
Freakwincy42 @ Oct 2nd 2009 11:29PM
marauder30, congratulations. you win "spot the sarcasm". seriously guys, we've gotten a release date before. i'll believe this when i download it. actually... i probably won't. not anymore, what with Uncharted 2, and Borderlands... too late, Trine.

Too many must haves coming out around the same time.
I might pick it up Spring 20.. oh wait........

Sony SUCKS.
There's no excuse for a delay this long for a PSN game.
Archon (PSN: Archonik, XBL: DarkARHN) @ Oct 2nd 2009 1:50PM
It's not Sony's fault that Frozenbyte did not meet PSN's quality standards.
If they released it in the original form and it would freeze every 10 seconds with inconsistent framerate and console bricking, you would be happier, right?
Wow, that sentence didn't make any grammatical sense. Take that, grammar nazis!
nightmare452 @ Oct 2nd 2009 1:54PM
The developer has said all along for months on their forums its all Sony's QA program that's delaying it, so I agree with the original posts. But Sony will just say its the developer, so conclusion is, both screwed up bad and I secretly hope the game does poorly although I will buy it day one.
cuteSAVAGE @ Oct 2nd 2009 2:25PM
@nightmare: You aren't very good at keeping secrets.
This game is a lot of fun, who cares if the release was fudged around with. It deserves to be successful.
Courtney @ Oct 2nd 2009 2:45PM
@nightmare,
So just a second, you had to wait...what, a whopping two months for a game to come out on one platform versus another, and you're so pissed off about it that you are publicly wishing that the game fails, thereby hurting the dev and pubs who have worked hard to bring out what by all accounts is a fantastic title.
Get your priorities straight.
nightmare452 @ Oct 2nd 2009 2:50PM
In a nutshell, yes.
Courtney @ Oct 2nd 2009 1:40PM
Eeeep!
freaparn @ Oct 2nd 2009 1:45PM
I really tried to enjoy Trine as a homage to old-school adventure platformers and to a large extent I succeeded, but those physics were reeeeeally half-assed. When such a big part of the game is obstacle manipulation via weight, friction, and balance, it's pretty surprising how slippery and random things feel. Like trying to build a lego structure out of half-melted ice cubes.
I'd be interested in seeing if they polish that feature up for the PSN release.
khodadad @ Oct 2nd 2009 2:16PM
Waited for it.
Was longing for it.
Finally tried it (PC version), slightly disappointed (same reasons as freaparn)
Knew the price, more disappointed.
Still waited for it (but just as a curiosity).
Now tired of waiting, with October the big games time finally returns and Trine opportunity window is over. DOA.
Nobledevil @ Oct 2nd 2009 1:45PM
Great, it finally comes out, but during the busiest single gaming month in my entire life as a gamer. F***in thanks, Sony QA, way to be on the ball.
el serpiente @ Oct 2nd 2009 2:26PM
I really don't get this mentality.
You could just hold off on buying it until you are less busy.
Babel @ Oct 2nd 2009 3:48PM
I hope you're joking: by that logic, Sony are completely ON the ball since October is pretty quiet for me - just Brutal Legend and possibly Borderlands depending on reviews. So Trine is perfectly timed for an almost certain purchase.
Everyone likes different games, so there's not really going to be many months when it's a good time for absolutely everyone. Just be thankful it's finally coming out.

@Babel:
No Demon's Souls love?
Colin McGinn @ Oct 2nd 2009 4:29PM

Anyone with a PS3 that doesn't get Uncharted 2 or RACF:ACIT makes me sad. Also, no beer and no TV makes me something, something...

mahouneko @ Oct 2nd 2009 5:49PM
Damn it enrique! You just HAD to break the flow!
Levi @ Oct 2nd 2009 8:48PM
Seriously... Uncharted 2 dude! Then again, there are plenty of threads about other big name titles that people would yell at me for not getting. I suppose the following should be said: just cause it's a big release doesn't mean everybody should have to buy it or like it.
343 Guilty Fart @ Oct 2nd 2009 1:49PM
So what's the correct pronunciation? Treen? Triiiine? Tren?
Archon (PSN: Archonik, XBL: DarkARHN) @ Oct 2nd 2009 1:52PM
Well.. Trine. It's not a har word to pronounce. o.O
You take a TRI from a TRI-force and finish up with an... um... "n".
Tri-n.
Heavytoka @ Oct 2nd 2009 1:57PM
@ Archon (PSN: Archonik, XBL: DarkARHN)
you were on a roll till you forgot the E lol
343 Guilty Fart @ Oct 2nd 2009 2:43PM
I've just been pronouncing it like 'Treen', that's all.
mahouneko @ Oct 2nd 2009 3:58PM
I think Archon's drunk. Whatever he's drinking, I want some of it.
mizzourahslim @ Oct 2nd 2009 5:04PM
Good question, I will be calling it "trinny" .
nightmare452 @ Oct 2nd 2009 1:51PM
HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, I have been waiting for this games (and bashing the publisher in forums) since June, but finally get to buy it, its a more than decent game and its a great 2d platformer / hack-n-slash.
Dropeti @ Oct 2nd 2009 1:54PM
I hope at least we get some trophy pictures instead of those lame ones :(
Squibmacbooth @ Oct 2nd 2009 2:01PM
Yeah, and since when have US$ to Euro/ £GBP conversions ever been like for like. We europeans will pay the equivalent of $29 whilst the Americans will get a directly 'translated' price of $19.99. It works like this both ways.
Mark my words!!!!!!
baby sea tuna @ Oct 2nd 2009 1:57PM
Oops, bad month guys. I was even saving money in my PSN wallet for this. Well, the good news is that by the time I'll have the time to actually play it, it might be on sale or something. PSN does sales sometimes, right?
eNrique @ Oct 2nd 2009 4:45PM
Yes it does but I doubt Trine will be in sale shortly after it's released, and next time you ask try to not sound like a douche, thanks.
baby sea tuna @ Oct 2nd 2009 4:57PM
You must be right about me being a douche since this is probably the first time I've ever seen a comment of yours that wasn't already totally whited out by the time I got to read it.
reversecycology @ Oct 2nd 2009 1:58PM
No free trial, no potential to purchase. Sure there's a demo for the PC but I know I'm not the only one who doesn't have a gaming PC or is a PC gamer. Besides the controls will be different. All PSN games should have free trials just like how all XBLA and even Indie Games have free trials for every single one. So, if Trine does not have a free trial on the PSN, it will be another game overlooked.
el serpiente @ Oct 2nd 2009 2:46PM
Who said anything about a demo or lack thereof?
Does every single comment of yours need to be a thinly veiled advertisement for the xbox? Seriously, stfu.
reversecycology @ Oct 2nd 2009 3:38PM
Nobody said anything about a demo or lack of and that's why I said, if there's no demo there's no potential for purchase. I like getting my hands on games myself before buying them. This is why XBLA is so fantastic in every way because they give you free trials out the ying yang. Jump in.
whiskeyseven @ Oct 2nd 2009 3:51PM
while reversecycology is being a total douche about live, i must say that i too would like a demo of this game. just in case, ya know?
but this is true for whatever platform a game is on. demos are good.
linebeginstoblur @ Oct 2nd 2009 4:53PM
I don't know if you think you're being funny, clever, or helpful by (intentionally or not) advertising the Xbox 360 here, but you're not.
Long Duck Dong @ Oct 2nd 2009 2:03PM
Sorry but its too late for me. If this wouldve came out in summer like it was supposed to i wouldve hopped on board. But Ill be too busy with Uncharted 2, Borderlands, Demon's Souls etc.
alioua83 @ Oct 2nd 2009 2:25PM
Yep that's exactly what I'm thinking, it looks like they missed their chance by not getting out the door in the summer and plus there is no multiplayer for the game. It's really too bad cause I think the game has potential :\
Mr. Joe @ Oct 3rd 2009 1:56PM
i'm still excited for trine. but like you said, demon's souls is gonna be in the way now. if they stick me with a $30 tag, i may pass this up until there is a sale on it or something. that's a lot money is effing rocktober.
WizzleHumpback @ Oct 2nd 2009 2:00PM
I waited patiently for this game for the last two and a half months. After delays have cause it to NOT have a simultaneous UK and US launch, they lost my business. I was eagerly anticipating this game since it was announced, but there's no why Trine will ever see the light of day on my PS3 now, unless it can convince Uncharted 2, Borderlands, and Ratchet and Clank to delay for another month.
fierysensation @ Oct 2nd 2009 3:53PM
I feel the same way. Trine lost its window of opportunity. I'm probably not buying it until there's a price drop now. Which can be a very long time.
Before it was a Day 1 purchase for me, but with Uncharted 2 and other games coming, Trine's dropped way down my list to buy.
wii60dsgamer @ Oct 2nd 2009 2:05PM
Is the XBLA version also releasing that same week?
