Anyway! We understand that everyone isn't lucky enough to have a roommate or friends to enjoy games with, so we should point out the co-op above can also be played via the internet, as well -- just, you know, not split-screen. You could do that, but then who would you punch for not having your back? Yourself? Come on! Think, people.

Looking that way for me as well for me.
Thought it was nothing more than online play.
Color me interested now.

I don't color between the lines, if that's a problem.

I LOVE split screen frag fests. For some reason this seems like has that X factor that induces frantic, random screaming button mashing levels of fun found is games such as Earth Defense Force...which for all intents and purposes was a terrible game but insanely fun in co-op.

I hope there's an option for horizontal split screen...I really hate vertical with a fiery passion.

That's weird... at first I thought it said "Watch a COP killing spree through Borderlands" and I thought, "how horrible..."

I mean the graphics look fine, but it feels so old school - run and shoot everything over and over. Where's the depth?

I don't go looking for depth in FPS, I go looking for guns and blood and people to play against.
If I wanted depth I'd be playing an RPG.

There is WAY too much text on screen. And that flashing "Reload" icon has to go. What's wrong with just showing how many rounds are left in the weapon, and letting the player figure out when to reload?

It's a loot hunting game, similar to Diablo.
You kill things, get loot, and level up to kill bigger things, get better up and level up higher, etc, etc..
I don't know why anyone thought it was ever going to be anything more. If you like the type of gameplay, it should be a lot of fun and last a long time. If you were expecting a co-op Fallout 3? Move along.

From the first preview I read about this game, it was deemed a Diablo stylized shooter with RPG elements. And with the waves of death and highly customizable weapon drops, they seem to be holding true to that. This game is definitely on my day one buy list.

@Vidikron; so if we take an old school run of the mill fps add in some fancy numbers and rank'm up skill sets... bingo awesome idea? no !, this trailer completely turned me off for this game, I went from wanting to buy this to passing and waiting for COD4MW2; and yes its different but at least its not robot slow boring fps as shown above. And why would the million weapon argument even stand on its own, so you can make weapons for a system that plays dated?, not very impressive; hope i'm wrong though.

I'm very confused about the negativity that this trailer has inspired...to my knowledge Borderlands was never billed as a slandered FPS...which if it had I would have probably passed on it since the market is glutted with FPS atm. I personally hope this game does very well...thats coming from a fan of games such as Diablo and Hellgate: London where friends and I could waste entire nights loot whoring our way through dungeons.

As an FPS player, this game really isn't for me. Too much RPG and the actual shooting combat seems to be not the greatest.
As an RPG/Shooter though, it looks a LOT more fun than say, Fallout 3. (I know people loved it, but I couldn't stand it.)

Ugh, I get downvoted for saying my opinion of depth in shooters? And it wasn't even offensive.
And YES Adam, I know this game is a hybrid. It still doesn't have as much depth as a traditional console/PC RPG.
If you're going to downvote comments for no reason, go to Kotaku. Seriously man, you're such a fundamentalist Christan redneck convservative savage, you probably LIKE Glenn Beck.

@Mewchu I got down voted for a comment noting the graphics look good :( peole are tards
@Baalzak I don't ever want games to be bad :) and would be completely happy if this somehow turned out great. I just don't think it will, based on the video on hand. I just don't find the direction (not the quality of the production THE DIRECTION) they chose very interesting.
More or less the same concern I have for Assassin's Creed 2. The first game looked great and played great... but the experience -- the actual GAME PLAY wasn't interesting to me.
Only time will tell

I've been looking forward to this game, but I have to admit that looked obscenely awful.
Was that on some kind of super easy difficulty mode or something? I liked how at one point that guy on the right put a couple shots into the guy, stopped to reload, messed it up somehow, then continued shooting the guy, missed him a few times, and finally killed him after that while the AI guy just kind of stood there motionless firing one pistol shot every 4 seconds at him while standing perfectly still and not reacting to be shot at all. Is it 1995 all over again?

You want to know what I think the biggest problem is? The players. Look at any fighting game, then get two people who suck at fighting games playing said game and it will make it look like a terrible game. These people are fucking TERRIBLE, they never use ANY of he special skills, all head shots they make are luck, they RARELY use the iron sights, it's just bad.
The other thing that bothers me is damage sponge enemies, but considering the amount of damage said people are doing with the amount of shots they MISS it's hard to really tell.
It's like they've never played a shooter.
As for the actual depth? Who knows. These enemies look pathetic, but it's just the opening to that zone and Lilith already lost her shield fighting like 2 people, and from the other gameplay videos I've seen have all been much faster paced and better then this.

If you don't think this looks sparse, you're kidding yourselves. Ever play those older mods for Half-life? There was a Western one and a Ninja one with this stylized graphics, the physics engine looks cheap - as well as the variability of movement.
I think this is one of those games where they create this ingenious system that creates almost endless types of weapons and enemies, which is great, but leaves out the polished basics of a great shooter.

Yes. This.
Those dudes soaked up more bullets than almost anything I've ever seen. I realize you'll level up and get more powerful weapons and do more damage later on, but all I could think was, "Yikes."
That being said, I'm still pretty excited for the game. I just want to see some reviews first.

Agreed. Those guys are taking way too many bullets before dying. I think that would probably get tiring after a while.
When it was first announced I was very excited, then years past and I lost interest, it was shown again with a new graphical style I was skeptical, split-screen was shown and I got excited for the game again, but watching videos of it has killed some of the excitement because the environment looks repetitive enemies take too long to die. I'll wait for reviews before making a final decision on the game.

LOL! yup I have been waiting for this since I heard about it in GI about 2 years ago! and it's finally coming! w00t!
