CrimeCraft goes free-to-play 'by the end of October'
Possibly in an effort to assuage the recent financial woes of publisher Vogster Entertainment, MMOFPS CrimeCraft will go free-to-play "by the end of October." According to a press release issued by the company yesterday, the game will go into an "unlimited free trial" later this month, though a two-tiered monthly subscription will now be offered -- $4.99/month or $9.99/month.
The difference between the two plans, though not explicitly detailed, will consist of "customization, skill slots, speed of experience gain and inventory capacity." Best Buy's retail exclusivity agreement with Vogster will be slightly altered as well, with consumers receiving "three months of online game time as well as access to 100 in-game gold bars and a number of exclusive in-game items." Hopefully that will make up for the less than thrilling gameplay we've heard so much about.

Ironically enough, Crimecraft was originally supposed to be a F2P game, so I'm not surprised.
You can't take a F2P game and slap on P2P AND not spend money to boost its quality.

Was originally free to play but they added in an "Item mall" and then later further pissed off players by adding in a monthly fee without removing the item mall.

I love APB too, but don't kid yourself. There'll still be a cost involved, just probably as microtransactions and not a monthly subscription.

What? Will ABP be free?? How did I not know? :S
