Giant robots on a tiny screen? How unthinkably farcical!
From Software managed to see beyond this astute observation earlier this year when it ported Armored Core 3, a six-year-old PS2 title, to the PSP in Japan. It looks like America will also be exposed to this amusing juxtaposition, as the ESRB recently rated a U.S. version of Armored Core 3 Portable. From Software has yet to officially reveal a stateside version of the mega-mech sim, but we predict we'll be hearing just such an announcement soon. Hopefully, it'll be accompanied by a English-language version of the above trailer. (Such drama! It's like a robot-centric soap opera!)

Of course it looks good! It's Armored Core 3; an actual, straight-up port of a PS2 game that exuded decent visuals.

This is the best news I've heard in a long time. AC 3 was a masterpiece...and the AC on PSP right now is garbage....

I loved Armored Core 3, was the last game in the series I played. I'll definitely pick this up, seems like it would be perfect for portable play.
Anyone care to weigh in on wether or not Armored Core 4 or For Answer are worth picking up?

This game ROCKS. The only problem is that after some time playing, my thumb hurts from squeezing the nub all the time. But I can't stop playing it. I'm looking forward to buying a PS3 in the near future and playing AC4.

Finally, something A.C fans can look forward to and forget that dismal first A.C on the PSP.

Wow... this takes me back to Junior High. My best friend got a copy of this game, and I did the same the next day. Played it for a year straight. After Armored Core Nexus the series started becoming meh, but still enjoyable. The first three Armored Core games and their expansions were amazing.

Sounds great to me. Formula Front wasn't bad IMO, but I prefer my Armored Core with some missions and not just a versus arena thing.
