Left 4 Dead, GTAIV, SFIV join Xbox Platinum Hits

Those were glorious times indeed.

It was sad-I was going through a manual on an Xbox title. I had to stop and think for a second when I saw the 'other titles' section all listed for 49.99. 19.99 was great indeed.

I remember the PS3 era towards the end going to a store and picking up 2 or 3 greatest hits title all under $20 each and these were truly great games.

L4D2 in Four Pack - $33.75.

Total - $48.74.

That's nice, unless you don't have 3 friends who you know are reliable enough to pick up their copies and pay you.

I thought it was all just cause of the new generation of games thing. Like the justification of new games being at $60.00 due to the fact that they are in HD. Same with blu-rays.

Yes, it is. I've had to force myself to keep from buying one of these ugly boxes. It's hard to find non GH copies of Dead Rising, though.

Is it bad that I groaned when I saw that the picture it showed on XBL when I had my SF4 disc in was of the Platinum Hits box art even though I have the regular version of the game?

I can't think of any budget/platinum/greatest hits art that was bearable since the original PlayStation days. They were good. Simple and effective. All the rest suck big donkey dick.

No, its not. I hate it when it shows my copy of ME as Platinum, even though I have the standard. I did laugh when it showed my copy of PDZ as the Limited Edition, though.

Seriously though... why do you care if a game you're playing shows up as a platinum hit or not? If anyone tries to give you shit for it just lie and tell them you didn't have time to play it when it came out because you were busy interacting with friends or were seeing a member of the opposite (or same I suppose, depending on your preferences) sex at that time and had no time for games. Which... I assume if your friends are the sort that actually care if you played the game when it came out or platinum hits version most likely haven't even said two words to someone of the opposite sex, so they'll be so in awe they won't even think to question you on the finer details. In fact, from that day forward they'll see your platinum hits playing as a badge... a badge of awesome.

You'll want to play 4 before Super anyway. Plus, there's a bonus unlock in Super if you have your 4 disc handy. Not sure what it is, but it's confirmed that having the disc will help in some way.

Why would you wanna play 4 before super? Super WILL BE FOUR, plus more. Unless you mean the masochistic act of unlocking all the characters?

yeah, the demo was good but I didn't want to spend $60 on it. I will pick that up on the cheap a year from now too.
