bluezy, that was the first thing I thought of reading this too. We all knew he would use Natal - the only shocking idea was someone assassinating him with a shotgun.

I think shooters have warped peoples minds a little bit. You all know a shotgun is effective at 60 feet, and possibly more than 100 depending on design. It's not like Halo where you have to firmly plant in on your enemies chest.

I've never been duck hunting but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that using a laser sight to hunt ducks is stupid. For your consideration:

Most species of duck have an average maximum altitude of 836 meters. Quick conversion and rounding tells us this is 91 yards. According to Crimson Trace, a laser sight manufacturer who uses the most powerful laser diode allowed by US law, in ideal morning sunlight conditions (ducks usually aren't out at night) conditions the laser can be seen for 15 yards. Even if that laser somehow refracted through a cloud and telescopically increased it's distance, it still does nothing for the range of your shotgun. But let's assume for some reason they were closer, in a more accurate representation of a hunting scenario. You would still have to be very good to not only hold the "dot" on the duck in mid-air for a long enough time to get a good shot without a scope, but you would risk scaring the duck, ultra-bright high intensity high-focus lights aren't exactly a predominant fixture in most nature enviroments.

So yeah, stupid argument is stupid, end of story. And don't even start with the "grenade launcher" thing, that's a typical "gamer who doesn't know anything about real weapons" kind of reaction. Real life isn't Halo.

Good thing it's going to use a controller.

I'm guessing most of the "big" titles are going to use a standard controller and feature Natal in the background. I'm interested to see what they can do with it though, I honestly don't have the slightest idea what it can be used for...... I guess thats why Molyneux makes the big bucks.

NPC Interactions (a la Milo) maybe? Or maybe just for spell selection or merchant shopping menus. Either way, Natal or not, I cannot wait to play Fable 3.

considering how molyneux has said that Fable 3s new interaction system will be "touch and judgment" it'd be pretty hard not to imagine Natal in there somewhere

Yeah I can imagine like in shops, you could "grab" what you want to buy. Or in fighting maybe using spells by saying them out loud ala Harry Potter. But I'm not so sure about NPC interactions... I mean, I guess the "touch & judge" thing has a clue on that maybe, but I just can't imagine it... like Milo mini-games with the NPCs? I don't know, but I definitely trust Molyneux.

Maybe the laser sight was from an assault rifle from the calm collected member of the group but the rookie rushed ahead and shotguned him, thus exPlaining the laser sight shotgun combo.

It is over a year away. We announced SegaCD over a year ahead of its North American launch mainly to keep our customers from defecting to Nintendo again (Though it turned out we didn't need to) and that seems to be what Microsoft has done here.

I see Natal as a moderately successful add-on, one that's too expensive/gimmicky to be widely accepted. It's 50 percent of the cheapest console, and all it seems to be is a collection of cameras/sensors. I wouldn't be surprised to see between 25/50 percent of owners buying this for their Xbox, but not much higher than that.

If Fable 3 integrates Natal, I'll be less inclined to buy the game. I'm already leaning toward not purchasing it, as I've been disappointed by the first two.

So let me get this straight...you were disappointed in Fable 1. Then, after being disappointed in Fable you decided it'd be a good idea to buy Fable 2? And now, after being disappointed in not only Fable, but Fable 2 as well, you've come up with the idea that you should consider buying Fable 3?

Personally I like the Fable franchise. While not a perfect gaming series it does provide fun and thats all I'm looking for.

Except Steve, Tim is obviously full of sh*t. I would wager he hasn't bought at least one of the ones he was disappointed in. An option like Natal wouldn't be what stops you from getting the title if you don't like the series in the first place.

Yes, my assassination will be quite a sad day. To all of you talking about a "laser sight on a shotgun", forgive me if my assassin will be inspired by the thought of killing me to create such a new and devastating weapon combination.

Also, it's not like my death would mean anything. I have regeneration abilities like that bloke Wolverine. How did you think I became such a revolutionary thinker? I've been alive for hundreds of years. And I dare say that I might be related to several of you. I had quite loose morals for a hundred or two years ago.

And the Natal support? I told you, air humping your virtual wife.

The only thing that really has me interested in Natal is Black & White 3 and Viva Pinata 2, both would work really well using it.

As for things like Fable? I don't really see it being for anything besides a few optional minigames.

I would prefer games that used the controller and Natal hybrid/supplement. All motion control is too inaccurate and frustrating for me.
