Forgotten Disney characters are Epic Mickey antagonists

No Wii hate... but this might be the first time I turn on my Wii in recent months. I'm stoked.

Captain EO, TRON, and Inspector Gadget (technically owned by Buena Vista Entertainment which is a subsidiary of Disney).

I will effing crap my pants if they are in this game.

Now we also need someone to get onto the phone and get us a 2D fighter of Disney vs Warner and we're sorted.

Are you guys kidding? Those games are complete borefests from a graphical standpoint.

If you gave a talented artist 4 crayons, he could still draw more impressively than the average idiot with a 64 box of Crayola. Point being, additional tools will always be helpful to an artist, but it still comes down to skill and creativity more than anything else. Please don't confuse graphical hardware capability with artistic direction (which I consider more important than the number of enemies on screen or the view distance).

Sounds very cool. I like that idea of using forgotten old disney characters as villains instead of using the many disney villains from the more popular disney films, or Pete.

Personally I think this game can work graphically provided that the developers know what they're doing. If they're talented enough, they can work around the limitations of the Wii and make something that looks amazing. I really can't wait to see a trailer for this.

Characters from Song of the South still won't be featured in this game, Disney has forgotten it on purpose and will never dare mention it again.

I think it is interesting that Oswald the Rabbit is being used as the main nemesis for this game. Oswald was Disney's first and last creation before he started his own animation studio, and it wasn't until recently that Disney Studios was able to get the character back. It's pretty strange that company's first use of the guy since the acquisition is a villain.

It's be funny if in the game you rescue Oswald from a tyrannical Woody Woodpecker and team up with him to destroy Universal Studios.

Sigh. I'm going to have to get a Wii now, aren't I?

Of course, his plans of world domination and ethnic cleansing are coming to fruition.

Hee hee--Oswald was the character they traded Al Michaels for. Good to see they're already getting some use out of him.

Seriously, after seeing pictures of the old Mickey again I can't even look at modern Mickey.

Power or not this game is art.

It's like Walt Disney himself screaming to the world "God damn! You filled my television broadcasting station with horrible shows! And you dare taint my name with those disgraces Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers? THIS IS MADNESS!"

Then he resurrects demonic Disney characters and they all arise from the soil with evil smirks and glowing red eyes.

And Walt screams... "ATTAAAACK!"

Zack, Cody, Hannah Montana, and all those people get stabbed in the face by Disney characters and their corpses are used to build Walt's throne.

In some twisted rapacious movement, Walt creates an army of cartoons and attempts to take over the world. The Soviet Union of Walt overpowers all of Eur-Asia, and eventually the entire world. Almost nothing remains but a hellish wasteland of charred and burning remains.

Walt would be the embodiment of Satan himself, his characters being his spawn.

And in the end, we would be the helpless slaves serving him until the end of time.

why so much hate? Kingdom Hearts is awesome and it's filled with Disney characters(and maybe soon Marvel characters, also)...the title is hot, the concept of the story is hot, but the only thing that will probably prevent me from buying it is the fact that it's on the wii...a game that sounds as promising as that should be multi-platform; i mean, it does sound darker than a "typical" Disney game...

It IS the now. Walt faked his own death. That was the end of Phase 1. NOW were starting Phase 3. Get with it, man!

Wasn't there an Animaniacs episode with a similar premise? Something like an old black and white character that wanted to get revenge on all the new characters because he had fallen to the wayside. I might be wrong in assuming it was in Animaniacs, but I'm almost certain I remember an episode of some cartoon like this, and it's killing me not being able to specifically remember it. Any help?

(BTW, I'm not saying this game is a rip-off of whatever I'm thinking of, so no need to go on a crusade about that.)

I do agree that if given equally talented artists, the one with the better tools would generally prevail. However, I still believe the tools at hand are secondary to skill, so I find it odd that everyone always looks at hardware first. If we are going to worry about how this game will look, let's first look at the artists that will be handling the project and make sure that they are proficient enough for the task of bringing Mickey to the video screen in a creative yet recognizable way.

Ok, no flamming me please. I will try to be as civil as possible. I have let all flammable comments out before making this post. I hope lol.

So, The plot. Where do I start except it really doesn't appeal to me. True, matter of opinion. And that's where it will fall on. Weather or not they can land on a positive opinion of this game. It's the only way they can actually make this game sell more than a small percentage of copies of the game.

This is my next comment. And yet again. Matter of opinion. Although simply reading the plot and veiwing some screenshots you might be inclined to agree with me. This game has done what I thought to be the most impossible thing ever. I honestly thought pixar would do it first if they haven't already. But this game and from what I've seen have made classic disney characters and these are characters that all who have ever been a child or are a child know to be completely and ridiculously unapealing. I know I keep using that word but it's really the only one I can think of while trying to keep this as simple as possible. And nice as well.

If it's an attempt at recreating kingdom hearts hype then good for them. That game turned out more epic than most games i own. If this is another cash in attempt than are you really all that surprised? It's disney.

Personally I've heard of but never played any of the creators games. I know I'll be flamed for that since I have no grounds for juding this title. But I believe that's a reason why I can so easily see it. I don't judge a game based on it's graphics. Put halo on an atari and i'll be freaking happy with it. Just make it fun and engaging for me. Good story and good gameplay. That's all I ask for. Story's not cutting it for me but then again the gameplay might surprise me and many other disbelievers. Hey, sum up Kingdom Heart's plot line in a single sentence and tell me you wouldn't have second thoughts on getting the game. Yet, it turned out to be one of the most fun rpg games ever.

Now, to all I have offended being anyone who likes the designs, game, and especially the creator I am sorry. But this game just does not look like it'll live up to what you all are making it sound to be.
