That's a shame about the Twitter functionality. I'd rather tweet my game progress than post it to my Facebook "wall". Tweets just seem, I dunno, less "cluttering".

I have a feeling the "Hide 'Xbox Updates'" feature on Facebook is going to see a lot of action once this feature rolls out.

Oh, and:

"While we're not entirely clear who will sit around the Xbox to stream internet radio"

How about: the same people who might listen to their personal music collection that's either ripped on their Xbox or streamed from a Windows Media Server or Vista PC elsewhere in the house?

they should provide a recording function for the XBLA service so you could upload clips from your games on your facebook or youtube account :p

Would love to show off my stunt crashes in Dirt 2

So does the Last.fm functionality work for those of us in non-white countries that last.fm decided are free to help them build their database, but aren't allowed to listen to the radio without paying for it on the PC? Because if not, they can get fucked. Again.

So they are targeting features which appeal more to casual users at Gold members? That makes no sense.

My wife would love to browse her social networks on the couch but she's never going to pay $50/year to do so. At least not when the PS3 and even the Wii allow her to do so for free.

Seriously, when Nintendo offers more functionality than you do and for free...yeah that's not good.

Well it does have a web browser. (archaic flash support and all) The Wii also has built-in wireless and full backwards compatibility with controller and memory card ports for their previous console. So yeah, Nintendo has trumped Microsoft and Sony in a few areas despite their underpowered hardware.

It is embarrassingly pathetic to be the developer of the most widely used web browser in the world and not have that functionality on your console.

The ability to add facebook friends to your XBL friends list from right there on the console is a pretty neat feature. While I don't use facebook very much, I (and everyone else, from what I can tell) still get friend request on there from pretty much anyone I've ever talked to in my entire life. And let's be realistic, most of us are lazy guys here, we're not the type of people that are going to take the time to email some old high school friend from 15 years ago to ask them if they have an xbox and find out what their XBL name is.

But if you have it available to you right there on your console and can add them with the click of a button, that's something people will actually use.

Bottom line, these apps look convenient, which means they will actually get used for people that enjoy them.

Using a fucking web browser on a console however is not convenient. There is no way in hell I would ever go find a mouse and keyboard, plug it into my console, pull over the coffee table, lay down a mouse-pad, sit up on the couch, and start browsing around facebook on my PS3. But if I can get in there with just the push of a button? Sure, I'll screw around with that sometimes.

Adding facebook friends will do no good when your friends list is full....

I have a Zune and a 360....both of which share the same friends list...so that thing was damn near full before I even got my 360....they REALLY need to up the limit on there and soon...

"While the video quality doesn't come close to a dedicated Blu-ray disc, not many instant streaming services can match the Zune Marketplace's fidelity."

Where are the "Blu-ray = 1080p streaming" people at now?? anybody?? HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO?

Who the hell needs Blu-ray when you've got Netflix 1080p streaming? Oh, and it doesn't matter that Netflix is currently only available in the US and Blu-ray works everywhere, only the US matters. This is the final nail in the PS3's coffin, $ony suxxorz ahahaha!

Did I do it right?

"Well having a feature is better than NOT having it I guess."

Indeed. The PS3 browser isn't that special, but it's nice to have it.

However, the xbox720 and the playstation4 will need to have 10x the current RAM so that we'll be able to stop a game and use a browser at the same time. I really hate GTA collectibles because the only way I have to get them is if I use my laptop while I'm playing. Next gen, when we are be able to do both things at the same time, we'll be thankful for our browsers :P

So with Facebook knowing all your friends will that mean Microsoft now knows all your friends?

I'll will NOT let my wife use Facebook on our 360. I've been done will Facebook for almost a year now. It feels sooo good to be free!
