Resisting new Star Trek Online screens is futile
The folks at Cryptic have released some new screens of the upcoming Star Trek Online, and let's just say that Locutus fans should be pretty pumped. That's right, we finally get to take a look at the Borg (sounds Swedish ...) as they appear in the game. We can't help but imagine actually playing as a member of the Borg collective in the game, though that might be just a tad unfair to the rest of the organic exploring the virtual universe.
The screens also show off some of the spacecraft available in the game. Peruse them all in the gallery below. It's not like you have a choice in the matter.

What was your screen name before you morphed into Tom Kalinske?
Tom Kalinske, CEO. (tomkalinske.blogspot.com) @ Oct 6th 2009 10:23PM
Jean-Luc Picard, of course.

What was yours before you were Alton?
Alton Brown [ XBL: LordToastington] @ Oct 6th 2009 10:28PM
Well, I was Robert Loggia for awhile, but before that I was LordToastington.
Bubbameister33 (Confused by Fanboyism) @ Oct 6th 2009 10:28PM
John Luck Pickard.

No. It's fun being Tom, but I was Bradwart before the rebrand.

We need us some Wardo or maybe some Khan.

Tom, you've got to keep your former mascot/supervillans on a tighter leash.

Robotnik isn't my problem. If I had had my way, Sega would have closed after the failure of the Dreamcast, and all its intellectual properties would have been sold to the highest bidder.

I can resist those screens...Maybe because my only knowledge of Star Trek is JJ Abrams's movie, which was awesome.

I was pleasantly surprised with the new Star Trek.

It wasn't bad. It's no Wrath of Khan, of course, but not bad.

Can I be a Hirogen or is this just in the Alpha Quadrant?
Dahk @ Oct 6th 2009 10:55PM
Some of the Delta quadrant species are pretty ridiculously cool. I'd be frickin' pumped if there was.
Chief Oddball @ Oct 6th 2009 11:13PM
I think you can create your own race with the game's character editor, so you can probably emulate a Hirogen.
However, I think the character must be roughly humanoid, so I think Species 8472 is out.
Sean @ Oct 6th 2009 11:19PM
8472 and the Hirogen are going to be showing up as NPC's, but who knows.
Markez @ Oct 6th 2009 10:55PM
Yikes. Up my nerd cred, being that I'm the first one to post this:

WHOA, WHOA, WHOA!
Way, WAY to Star Trecky Cryptic. Turn it down a notch before someone gets hurt. What is this, 2250?
Special Agent Steve @ Oct 6th 2009 10:58PM
*too....
choo choo

All I want from this game is to make an ex-Borg Vulcan science officer. Looks like I might just get that.
Van Faulk @ Oct 7th 2009 8:22AM
I'm getting KOTOR flashbacks. You know, the feeling where the game creators obviously have more knowledge and care for the subject matter than the people actually in charge of the franchise.

My pants are doing a little resisting.
