PlayStation Network games are now available for purchase through Amazon.com, meaning Sony has joined Nintendo and Microsoft in offering its digitally distributed goods through the online mega-retailer. In some cases, the benefit of this middle-man purchase is avoiding those pesky sales taxes that several states place on goods bought directly through the PlayStation Network.
At the moment, we don't see any deals that jump out at us, but if you do, feel free to note 'em in the comments.
[Thanks, Jason]

Are you getting at PSP Go?
Sony stated times and times again that it is NOT meant to REPLACE PSP 3000. Both will still be shipped and supported.

I just bought a PSP GO and I think it's pretty slick. It's a Christmas gift for one of my kids but I had to take it out of the box and check it out. I think that it's cool and it will appeal to Sony's new portable customers.
Of course you don't have to get rid of your original PSP so why knock the GO (I guess thats the in thing to do and the quickest way to three hearts other than dissing Activision). If it's one thing I can say about Sony is as Archon stated they are not going to give up on the old PSP and make you switch over (look at PS2). It's an option and I like options and I like the idea of not having a kid misplacing games and getting them scracthed up so I got them the GO.

Because the PSP Go is not an entirely different product from the PSP 3000, unlike the DS and Gameboy.
DS had more power/could do things that the Gameboys simply couldn't. The PSP GO doesn't do anything the 3000 can't, it just offers a smaller form factor / all digital experience (it basically exists to compete with the iPod Touch as a gaming device)

I was mad at GO when I first knew about it.
But come to think of it again, it actually benefit PSP owners. Look at how much PSP section has changed on the PSN last week. You might say you prefer UMD (yes, me too). But now us PSP1000 - 3000 owner have a choice of buying either UMD or digital copy, right? What if one day in the future you wanna buy Persona and search on ebay and find the game with $100+ price tag? Then you have a choice of paying $100+ for a hard copy or a regular price digital download, which knowing myself I would pay $100+. But at least you will have a choice.

Bluetooth is an extremely significant feature IMHO. The GO I think is a great piece of hardware. If it had custom firmware hacks available, I'd seriously consider snapping one up. The bluetooth kicks ass, being able to use a PS3 controller while hooking the GO up to the TV? Thats absolutely awesome. The PSP has great games that deserved to be played on a TV. With PS2 graphics, it'd look good too.

Good. The more taxes people can avoid, the better!

@Space
You can only add the exact amount if it's above $5. The point is because Sony gets charged for every transaction (albeit a minimal fee) they prevent credit card transactions less than $5 from occurring.
Just like how some restaurants only let you use credit if it's over $10, etc.

While definitely less convenient than the native store front, I have some pretty good amazon related discounts, so this may be alright. For a while you could get a free membership (for a year) to the ECA which gives you 10% game purchases on Amazon

Not to mention, if you have an Amazon credit card, you can earn points on these purchases that you otherwise wouldn't have. Sweet!

What an awesome attitude. "I got mine, so I don't care that I helped ruin it for everyone else."

FINALLY! I've been waiting quite a while for them to do something like this, especially seeing as getting money onto my PSN account requires me to jump through hurdles. I'm glad Amazon is finally doing this for it.
Now they just have to add Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman!, and I'll be content.

Doesn't seem to have the ability to buy songs for Rock Band, which is what I spend most of my PSN dollars on. Get busy, Sony!

no tax in NC....yet. Right now we are suppose REPORT any purchases made online and pay taxes on it at the end of the year. Well since hardly ANYONE does that they are taking about forcing the tax to be taken at time of sell like other states do. and with the HUGE DEPT that NC is in I'm pretty sure it will most certainly happen by next year

The only good I can see for this is if they start to sell things cheaper, like they do for the other systems. I mean its not like PSN requires you to have Moon bucks or Wii points....its REAL Money. But I suppose if someone had some Amazon Credit/gift cards then it will also come in Handy for that....

I lost faith in Amazon when my pre order of ODST (remember the word pre order) came to me a day late (good thing my friend brought his copy round to play =])

@Solace, When i pre order a game i expect it to arrive the day it is released hence the name "Pre-Order". If every other game shop website can manage to give me it on the day it releases why can't Amazon?
Just plain stupid and retarted. I'm moving to Play.com, free shiping and arrivies the day you should get it (not to mention the amazing deals you get there.)

Katana Master maybe you dont fucking get the concept of choosing how the item gets shipped to you. They have an option called release day delivery choose it and pay the extra fee other than that STFU and stop complaining because you cant play a game on day one because of your ignorance

Right...so because UPS had a delay, naturally it's Amazon's fault.
