It appears that Epic Mickey might wind up on more platforms than initially suggested. 1UP is reporting that GI's original post on the November issue of the mag has removed all mentions of Wii exclusivity, a potential sign that the deal is not yet cast in stone -- or, at the least, that other consoles are being considered. And why not?
Frankly, we'd like to see it ported to every console in existence, not just because we're big Warren Spector fans, but ... okay, it's because we're big Warren Spector fans. Huge.

I dont really agree with Quiggly but I do find it ridiculous that when a PS3 exclusive is announced and someone says it should come to the 360 there is an outrage of "just buy a PS3 all ready cheap ass" but when theres a Wii exclusive thats not nintendo people are quick to say "some of us only have one system". Understand that but im perplexed by the two totally different messages getting upvoted that contradicts eachother.

Because as hardcore gamers we bond together with the Wii exclusive, since we want the game to reach its full potential and you simply cannot do that on the underpowered console. That's a fact, there's no going around it.
I'm buying a wii for the first party exclusives, everything else should also be on ps3/360.

Call me a troll if you want, but I would be ashamed to play this on the Wii.

HD + better controller, for starters.
There are a lot of games available on both the Wii and the PS3/360 versions in which the PS3/360 versions are far better. I realize some of that is because many of them were simply ported to the Wii as an afterthought, but others were not.
I have a Wii, and this is still big news to me.

I'm sorry but a game can only reach its true potential on a PC. The PC can outclass all consoles in terms of power and the mouse is by default the best controller for such things as shooters and RTS games.
Do you ever, ever hear PC gamers complain about a Wii exclusive? What does that tell you about the maturity of these complainers?
(By the way, the answer is that they almost never complain, some were even happy at how the Wii is getting suped up versions of Cave story and La-Mulana)

Hurr durr a console gamer who bashes the Wii that's new.
My PC can barely run GTA: SA. I am just telling "the truth" just like how you are telling "the truth".
I also love how everybody was saying it sucks before this news and now everybody is excited.

@ Vcize: As opposed to a hate spewing fanboy such as yourself? It's fine for people to mouth off about the superiority of their choice of gaming platform so long as it's the other two consoles, but bring the PC into it and all of a sudden it's fucking anarchy.
And really is "HD" the only upside to seeing it on other consoles for most of you? How about we see how the game plays, then bitch?

I didn't realize the truth began including opinions.
I happen to prefer a controller for my shooters. So if I said "a gamepad/controller is by default the best controller for such things..." would that make it true? Of course not.
It would be true that I prefer them, but not that they are better or worse in any way. Things like "best" and "worst" are usually very subjective and can change based on the individual.

Yes, tmac. Everything that Nintendo doesn't make should be moved to the other platforms and we should have to deal with a THIRD generation of Nintendo fending for themselves. Because we all know how good it is for a company to die off.
You are a genius.

Yeah, I have all 3 consoles and I would rather play this on 360 or PS3 than the Wii, largely because of the lower resolution on the Wii. It makes games look bad no matter what, and for a game as potentially stunning as this one, it'd be a shame for it to be wasted.

The PC is not the best system, simply because of piracy. If I was a dev I wouldn't put huge amounts of effort into a game for PC when people will actually pay me for a console port.

I would love to play it in HD for sure. But if it is a Wii Exclusive it wont be a loss for me, I have a Wii and will gladly play it on that if need be.

This game sounds like it's in early development and the dev kits for Sony and Microsoft's motion solutions are being pushed out to devs so I couldn't see this as an impossibility...

Considering how long there have been rumours about this, I really doubt/hope it isn't in the early stages of development still.

If the art style is anything like Okami, it will be just fine on the Wii.
Having said that, I don't know why a company would go for Wii exclusivity at this point in the generation. The install base is so huge on the other platforms now, and completely ignoring them would be the same as flushing money down the toilet. While the Wii install base itself is huge, it's games like Wii Play, and Wii Sports that really sell the huge numbers, and not third party games.
When I saw the teaser for the Mickey cover, my first thought was "OMG Kingdom Hearts 3!!" and then I soiled my pants. Knowing now that it is a Disney only game gives me a completely different kind of nerdgasm, and it brings back memories of Mickey Mousecapade for the NES. That Warren Spector is on board gives me the warm and fuzzies.

If the game play rumors about the whole paint brush eraser thingy is correct, why would you want to play it on another console? This game play style screams play me on Wii. (or DS).

From how I interpreted the description of the motion controls, it sounded more like 'waggle a certain way to trigger an action'. So unless the game requires precise IR pointer control, I would prefer a button press.
Also, we still don't know the release date, it could be after the release of Natal/Sony's motion flashlight.

Gigoro, that's actually not true.
There's a misconception out there that IR pointer is the best implementation of drawing -- in actuality it's quite difficult, because it's equivalent to painting with a 5' paint brush (or however far away from the screen you are).
Sony showed that precision drawing IS possible (and even better) on their prototype control scheme, and based on Microsoft's implementation, I'd say it's possible on theirs, as well.

If it can be perfectly accurate why was additional hardware (Motion+) required? The Wii mote still isn't perfectly accurate even though it benefitted from Motion+. Nothing the Wii Mote can do that the PS3 Motion controller can't do ... No reason to assume that only the wii mote can make this game work. In fact, thats pretty naive and a kool-aid drinking comment if I've ever heard one. You aren't a game developer, you aren't working on this project and you don't know what could or couldn't be possible on another platform whose controllers haven't even been released yet. I'm not sure about Natal but in theory you could just get an actual paint brush and use that in the game without having a controller.
Hell Okami started as a PS2 game and played perfectly fine with a standard controller. No reason this game couldn't be mapped to a standard controller or a motion controller.

So I got downrated for trying to point out you can't draw with sixaxis motion control? I'm a little confused. Is that a result of people thinking you can draw with tilt control (because you can't), or some other reason?
I wasn't trying to say the game wouldn't work with traditional controls, just that sixaxis control wouldn't have much of an advantage over the xbox 360 in context of drawing. I'm sure an analog stick would work fine, but that's not what I was talking about.
