We'll be the first to admit that the early gameplay footage for a canned The Flash game -- the one BottleRocket was rumored to be making for Brash -- looks a little rough, as you'll see right after the break. But considering how early the footage is (just six months into development), we can't help but think there's a little something there.
We don't know if it's the animation, the sense of speed or maybe just the borrowed Danny Elfman score, but we're feeling like this canceled rendering of the Scarlet Speedster is a definite missed opportunity.
I think if they make a flash game to get the theme right they should change perception to where everything moves normal but when you start to run everything goes slow-motion. Right now it just looks kinda like the Superman game with the sprint button stuck on.
Plus a little nagging point in 00:53 flash moves so fast he's not effected by gravity so why jump over water when he can run right over it and still gain speed? These guys should take a look at the comics and cartoons before making a game.
I guess the only game Flash would work in would be Star Trek (if Flash had a space suit and could somehow run in space.) I bet Flash can't go faster than warp 9.975. *crosses arms*
No. Gods, no. Pre-Crisis Superman was able to keep up with Jay Garrick and I think Barry. By the time Wally took the mantle, Flash was so fast he was able to: go faster than light, run so fast he was able to save someone's soul before they died, and run so fast he could travel through time.
They never give concrete numbers, but I think Superman tops out around speed of sound, and The Flash is able to travel at Ludicrous Speed and go plaid.
superman = speed of sound flash =speed of light He is still pretty slow even in that video. He could probably finish every villain before they start their plan except speedy villains I guess. It's pretty hard to make a game about him and I'm glad they didn't continue with this one if they every do...he's a crap ton faster than this.
The Flash(II, III & IV) is the fastest superhero ever. He tops out around the speed of light. The Flash I (Jay Garrick) isn't that fast but is still only behind the other Flashes, it's probably because he's old. Of course, Flash IV (Bart Allen) is now back to his younger self and is Kid Flash, therefore not as fast. Flash II (Barry Allen) and III (Wally West) are around the same speed but I think Barry is faster.
No, Jay is not as fast as Barry, Wally, or Bart (or any of the future speedsters) because he doesn't get his power from the Speed Force. The added benefit, is that if the Speed Force goes apeshit (which it does, often), Jay is the only one who keeps his powers.

Actually he does get his powers from the speed force now. Every speedster does.
Looks all right - but I could see it getting old fast. could this have played allmost like Shadow: The Hedgehog? Can someone get the rights to this and give them to Rocksteady?
Yeah, BottleRocket was still around after Brash folded and they lost the deal to develop The Flash. Then they were pulled off of the Splatterhouse project and, just last month, they closed their doors. Sad. :-(
Actually the Flash looks really slow in those videos (for how fast he's really supposed to be). I think they got it all wrong and cancelling was the right thing to do.
Yeah, the running along the highway bits make it look like he tops out around 100mph or so, even at their slowest the Flashes could reach the speed of sound, and at their highest light speed. Glad it didn't get made, it's just one of those games where the powers just wouldn't work if you want to remain true to the character.
You could point and click on a map and *bam* you're there. However, this would take all the fun out of the game and you might as well just play it in Excel.
Yeah, watching that video I got flashbacks of crap like the last Superman game, and the Iron Man game... It might be cool to see the Flash in game form, but the way they were executing here doesn't seem to do justice to the character at all. It may as well have been called Superhero: The Sandbox Game for all of the generic gameplay and reliance on tired genre cliches they've displayed in this footage.
Honestly i think the game probably would've been another average and generic superhero game. And someone mentioned how the game would bascially be like a Sonic game of sorts, which i agree with and that can be taken as a good or bad thing.
I dont know if The Flash is a good character to base a game off of though. He's a rather straightforward character and i cant see anyone spending more than an hour on the game before getting bored. The Green Lantern on the other hand, and similar characters would provide a larger base of skills and possibilities to work with.
Flash is an okay hero but I never thought his persona was as prominent as say Batman. His main power is to move at the speed of light how can you control a character on screen that moves that fast?
Just cause he is a comic book hero do you need to make a video game out of him? Whats next an Aquaman ga.....NVM.
