I see. It still feels like a counter-intuitive process though.

Yeah and really the best solution for people without HDD's is to let them stream the data from the second disc and it would only force them to swap discs to access all the content and not an install. That would have made the most sense imo since not all 360's come with HDDs as standard.

Man, if I were a developer for a 360 game, I'd be cursing at the people who bought the 360s that had no hard drives. Them and Microsoft for not making it standard.

From a software developer's perspective, this situation blows.

Lol - I read it quite well. You have the option to install all of the content at once. Let's say though that you didn't (or couldn't due to HD issues) - what then? I'm wondering if you would have the option to add the cars on the fly after a race, before the next starts, or not. It seems like an odd concept to switch discs and then add in more cars as you want them, when instead I could have all the cars and choose to exclude tracks I'll never race on.

This isn't directly related to this post, but I just saw the Forza screenshot for the new games coming out in October; I couldn't help but notice how the car pictured is a Volvo C30. I've been looking into that as my next new car that I'm going to purchase :). The screenshot even has it in one of its better looking colors. This game is going to be my final excuse to get a 360. I've been waiting to get one for a bit, but this game just looks too good to pass up.

Are you talking about in-game or in real life? In real life, I'd be happy with the C30 R with about 230 HP. I've had automatics for a few years now, but I think I'm going to go with a Manual for the C30. My father has an S60R and it's a helluva lot of fun to drive. I test-drove some BMWs, Acuras, and Audis, but for the price, I think the Volvo would suit me well.

Don't be such a douce, Sushi.

Good for you ToadStool if this is the game that tips you into the 360 then I say go for it. I had one for a long time and it's got some fantastic games and XBLA content. I'm sure most of the kinks have been worked out in terms of hardware reliability so thats probably not as big an issue as it once was upon a time. I would suggest buying it from someone like Best Buy and paying for their in-store warranty replacement that way if it breaks you can bring it in and get another new one instead of sending off for a refurbished unit from MS. I wasn't that big on Forza 2 as I'm more of a simulation racing fan and when it's not simulation I'll take something like Midnight Club LA which is just super fun and has a half decent story to boot. You may want to check out that Need For Speed Shift as it's a pretty decent racing sim ... although it's no Gran Turismo or Forza it's still a good game. Finally, you may be best served to wait until a bit closer to the Natal release and see if they launch a 360 that comes with Natal bundled. I'm going to get another one as soon as they redesign the console ... like a slim 360 for example ... and I'm thinking when Natal launches is probably when they'll introduce something like that.

Thanks, Johny. I'm actually going to try to get it at Costco. They have a fantastic return policy- they'll take anything back. My parents took back a 20 year old dehumidifier and they called me up and told me about how great Costco was about returning it. They exchanged it for a new dehumidifier and even gave my parents a store credit because the new one was less expensive than what they paid 20 years ago. They'll have me as a customer for life.

Don't forget to take a look at GRID - one of the most underrated games this gen imo.

IGN has a Forza 3 review up already - 9.4

I played GRiD and I loved it. I actually just got back into it and realized I had over $20 Million to spend on cars. I had some fun going shopping. I need to work on getting a better racing partner, though...

Thanks for the video, Xav. The art direction looks great, I can;t wait to jump into this game. Are any joystiqers going to be online on the mean virtual streets of Forza 3?

What's up with the VIP stuff. It's really pissing me off. I'm not giving Gamestop my money, period. How can I get VIP without paying Gamestop, preferably without paying anyone. And can I then get a ZR1?

Given the Forza 3 demo shows it already has the classic Ferrari problem, not having any Ferraris unlocked (well, 1) if you don't have the VIP pack is a serious issue.

*The Ferrari problem is that for some reason in racing games, Ferraris are very often stuffed in the wrong driving classes. This was a problem in PGR3 where the top car in 3 classes was a Ferrari, and in those other two classes, the 2nd best car was a Ferrari. If you wanted to win online, you were at a huge disadvantage if you didn't drive a Ferrari. I strongly suspect this problem is due to Ferrari's insistance. Anyone who has driving the Forza 3 demo can attest to this, with the Ferrari California mysteriously being in the C class, instead of being up against the Audi R8 V10 in B. Why is the 460HP California in a class below the 505HP Z06 and 525HP Audi R8 V10?

Very nice. Believe it or not I'm looking forward to this game more than any other game this year! I'm a car nut and therefore a Forza nut. I'm going the extra step and buying the Forza Playseat! http://www.amazon.com/Playseats-Limited-Forza-Evolution-Racing/dp/B002LDYAW8/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1255057998&sr=8-5 They also kept the exact same car and year of my very own personal car, 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS!!! I love upgrading my own car and dropping a 6 speed transmission with a supercharger and all-wheel drive in Forza 2, now I get to do it again with better upgrades and WAY better graphics! P.S. Captain Planet is my hero! gotta love those silly Sony Fanboys! BLU-RAYS FTW!!!! lolololol
