Disclosure: if we weren't watching this behind-the-scenes trailer (after the break) for work, we would have turned it off as soon as the narration said that the fighting took place in another dimension. But then we would have missed being introduced to the white guy playing Kyo Kusanagi! And to Iori Yagami's hockey getup.
Don't worry, the movie's actually in good hands: the actress playing Vice has heard of King of Fighters.

Actually if you knew anything about the series you'd know that KOF has the most intricate storyline of any fighting game out there.
It deserves an actually film much more then Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat.

It doesn't matter what game because Hollywood kills the plots of movies based off games. If done right Max Payne should have been a cinematic masterpiece but, instead it's a movie that no one wants to see.
If the game industry doesn't have enough backbone to protect their IP's we're just going to have to deal with this over and over until someone finally makes a must-see movie off a game. Until that day we're gonna have to deal with b.s like thiis.

Joke or not, you implied that King of Fighters has no story. While I'm not going to say it's a GREAT story, it is at least fleshed out with interesting characters.
Saying it is as shallow as WiiFit is just insulting.
No biggie I'm not upset by it, just pointing out the series actually has an interesting story and you should check it out. Rereading my previous post I realize I sounded like a douche, but I should have just said you should check the games out, they are pretty good. Only fighting game series I know that has had characters die in their story and stay dead.
Fatal Fury also has a great storyline that has nothing to do with demons or aliens or clones, and also has permanent character deaths. The story begins in Art of Fighting, where Andy and Terry's dad gets killed by a young Geese Howard, and has time progression and characters aging.

Could the movie actually be worse than King of Fighters XII? Hard to say...watching Ray Park do his thing is always really enjoyable. Considering ticket price ratio to the horrendous $60 they charged for a game only 40% complete...I'd say the movie will probably be better just to watch Ray Park flip around.

I will agree that the game could have been much more, but to choose this low budget crapfest over it? CHOOSING RAY PARK OVER IT?!? That guy has the charisma of a paperbag.
I for one choose both the incomplete game and crappy movie!!!

It's not Ray's charisma I'm interested in. It's his ninja-like abilities that are enjoyable to watch. Come on you can't watch Star Wars Ep.1 and see his Darth Maul flip around and do awesomeness and not think he was the most badass of all the Jedi/Sith. He MADE episode 1 bearable to watch.
And I'd buy KoFXII for $30, which is equal to how much effort I feel they put in the game. Seriously, 4 stages? Next to nill on music? Almost no single player options? The worst online since Soul Calibur 4? I'm not a KoF hater, I love XI and 98 Ultimate Match. It's just sad that XII doesn't posses an OUNCE of quality or polish that XI or 98 had.

Wow. That movie is the face of true evil. You open your dictionary and look up evil that movie will be there. What the figgity fuck. For the first time in my life I am dumb struck. Why in the world did they even do this? This is like they waited at a toilet and took the runny shit of Dragon Ball evolution and Street fighter legend of Chung li swirled in around with a little Mortal Kombat 2 and got this new super Flu like crapola.
The only Vaccine for that movie is obviously death, quick and painless. Opposed from the slow agonizing torture you will experience watching that "film". It will scar your mind

I'm really glad that I'm not familiar with the story and characters of KoF, because I have a feeling that the trailer was really bad in correlation to the game.
