Behind the horrifying scenes of the King of Fighters movie

King of Fighters fans would probably really appreciate a live-action movie that deals with the series' surprisingly detailed storylines faithfully, while bringing their favorite characters into real life in a recognizable way. Those are the exact people who should never, ever watch the King of Fighters movie.

Disclosure: if we weren't watching this behind-the-scenes trailer (after the break) for work, we would have turned it off as soon as the narration said that the fighting took place in another dimension. But then we would have missed being introduced to the white guy playing Kyo Kusanagi! And to Iori Yagami's hockey getup.

Don't worry, the movie's actually in good hands: the actress playing Vice has heard of King of Fighters.

As it stands so far of what I seen in my life when it comes to fighting game movies they stand at a 99% change of being a total fuck up. The characters, their background, the story of the game, the moves, everything is just screwed up.

They'd be better off making some movie about Millipede or Defender. Make a movie that didn't have to strong of a story in the first place that lessons the chance they would fuck it up in the first place.

WELL, I guess Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat had their respective opportunities for crappy movie adaptations, King of Fighters deserves its own opportunity to live in infamy. Next up, Guilty Gear or BlazBlue movie! Long live bad fighting game movies!!!

Oh yeah, almost forgot about Dead or Alive :)

I personally, love to see wasting millions of dollars and failing miserably. There's something so right about a failure this epic. It's a thing of beauty. Also the collective willful ignorance of all of the people (director, crew, actors) is mind blowing. It's like that movie where only rowdy roddy piper can only see that the alien monsters are walking among the people of the city and everybody else is unable to see them.

WHY IS THIS EVEN CALLED KING OF FIGHTERS? They raped the story, and none of the character look remotely like their game counterparts.

Why is Iori a hockey player?!?!

Why is Kyo Kusanagi white?!?!

Since when does KOF take part in another dimension?!?! Isn't that Mortal Kombat?

Where is Mai's cleavage?!?! MaggieQ has no cleavage to speak of.

Why is Kyo using a sword?!?!

Why does Chizuru look like a 40 something year old woman?!?! Françoise Yip has not aged gracefully.

ugh haven't they seen or heard of how bad Dragon ball: Evolution was!?

Has always struck me as strange that more fighting series haven't been turned into anime series. The licensing must be ridiculously high or something, because it seems like such an easy cash grab.

Not to mention it requires far less transition. The character designs are already done, the over the top special attacks (for those kinds of games) all work within the animated medium, and hell you can even nab the exact same voice actors to do it I'd imagine.

Though the Chun Li is a very damn bad but its 3rd.
This may be 4th but I think some movies by Ugh Bowl (yes I know I spelt his name wrong) are sure to higher on the list than this piece of turd movie.

I'm not a HUGE fan of KoF but it didnt deserve this horrible transition to film. That and from what little they hinted at the storyline seems like they just ripped off Mortal Kombat movie. When will Hollywood and movie makers in general realize that in a video game especially a fighting game as the developers who the main character is and who is the bad guy and what is the storyline within. Every fighting game has one no matter what we wish to believe, if there are other popular fighters in the game let them be supporting characters or have them be in a cameo where they quickly kick someones @$$!! Just dont lump them into the storyline because hey why not!
